I see your point. I guess where I am coming from is not on a basis of hit-em-over-the-head, but rather, when the opportunity presents itself, don't run from it because you are afraid of being repremanded. However, I do agree with you in your statement completely, I just feel that NOT talking about Christ at all is even worse. In His Service, Brian |

2 | can a man have more than one wife? | Matt 19:5 | Corban | 110493 | ||
First, God tells us that TWO will become ONE flesh, not "two or more". This supports monogamy well. Also, in EPH 5, Jesus teaches us that marriage is akin to Christ and his relationship with the church. This can only support monogamy, sice there would have to be different religions to chose from otherwise.However, the most compelling answer is found in 1 Tim. This is where it specifically teaches us that elders (pastors, leaders, etc..) MUST have but one wife. Further reading leads to the conclusion that all relationships are to be monogomous. But, isn't it interesting how, when we see a good movie, we tell everybody, and we don't worry about hurting somebodys feelings? Maybe they don't like sci-fi, drama, or whatever the movie is, but we tell them! Does the fact that we are more comfortable trying to convince people to go blow 20 bucks (or more) on a movie than talking about God's salvation seem to suggest that we are more concerned with the movie than people's eternal salvation? ... I do think that it is personal. We all have some type of ministry, weather that is at a pulpit, in the middle of a third owrld country, or sitting on your deck talking to a friend. We do, however, need to share to gospel with everyone we reasonably can. And if you share at work? worst case scenario...you get fired, right? So, my theory, (since this is what God teaches), is that He will provide for me anyways. Just my 2 cents. In His Service, Brian |

Romans 10:9 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved (NIV) Works are not required for salvation, which is why this question gets asked often. Prayer, however, is not a "work", it is something that you do as part of your relationship with God. Would you carry on a relationship with youe spouse, but NEVER speak to them?
