1 | Can you help me understand the Trinity? | Bible general Archive 1 | ChrIsAndBritsMom | 92802
Hi Mel...Many parts of the bible are divided in 3's, including us and the trinity..God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. It took me a while to grasp how one person could have 3 different identities and then I realized that (1). He is not a person and (2). I myself am a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a co worker, etc yet I am only one. I play a different role in each. Even though God's identities are far greater and He actually can literally divided Himself into 3 diffrent roles, this analogy gave me a better understanding as how one being can be many different things.I only wish I had the power to do what He can do, my life would be much easier ;) You have to understand that God can not see sin, therefore could not see us as we are all sinners. I believe that when we become saved our soul is seperated from our body (Like a spirital circumcision) and if Jesus is in our hearts God the father sees his son and His Holy Spirit in us. Even when you pray you pray "to" the Father "through" the son "in" the spirit. This is the best way that I can try to explain the way the 3 are seperate, but are all one at the same time. It can be a bit confusing...but if you think on it for a while, it really all makes perfect sence. I hope this helps some. When I said that we are also a trinity read Genisis 2:7 where it talks about God creating man. Read also Galations 4:6 and John 14:8

Dear Pastor,I don't think you understood my response. I agree with you. I know what happened to my son was an accident and I have never thought of my son as a flower in God's garden. I do, however, believe that God's grace made Chris's accident a little easier to bear for me by others seeing how precious life is and making a decision to serve God now. It helps me to know that my son's accident had a part in his friends and others living for Christ today.Even though prayer in school has been outlawed, the day my son died the principal lead students who wanted to pray in a prayer...in school! The school also made a memorial for my son over the summer months. All students were invited to participate, if they wanted to, in making it. I do believe that grief can make people stronger in the Lord. When you hit rock bottom there is only one way to look and that is up!I know that because of my circumstnces with not just my grief now, but from trals in the past I am able to help others with the strength I have been given, it has been a gift to me.I am able to encourage people to understand that no trail is too great if you know Jesus. If I had fallen in any trail, I may be like thousands of others who need drugs to cope and cant keep a job beacuse the stress overwhelms them . Because of my previous trails, I am able to overcome things through God...... On a lighter note, I am very happy to hear of your son coming through some bad times...God is good! I do also believe that my son is in the presence of the Lord. I would just like to find the passage to help me on days when I am feeling really down. I know that sounds crazy! I do hve many cripturs that I reference on those days, the one you sent me is one of them.I would like to thank you again though for taking the time to respond. Just knowing that people care helps alot in itself. Oh, on a final note,I've been divorced for 10 years and I am female :) God bless you and your family!

I am still searching for my answer, but I do want to thank all who have responded. In my grief, I am learning and leaning on a God that I know and trust with all I am.I am sure He will provide an answer when He is ready for me to have it, maybe I am not completely ready for the answer...I dont know. But, I do know that I asked and He will, as always, provide what I need. I praise Him in all things! I am thankful for the 14 years He gave me with Chris. I know that good days and bad await me, but I also know that I will face neither alone! Ive always heard that out of bad He makes good. There have been hundreds of my son's peers that have dedicated thir lives to Jesus because of my son's accident. At least we are all talking about Him. Praise be to my savior and friend, Jesus! And I hope that in this, one of my worse days yet I do not forget that! Bless you all!
