Please tell me by what authority did Watchtower change John 1:1. The New World Translation is: In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God,and the Word was a god." Joseph Smith was given revelation for his translation as follows: 1 In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. |

2 | How did man have a Divine Mind? | Gen 1:26 | Chochma | 108555
Divine Mind is God, Man is the physical expression of God. Man is not Divine Mind but rather it's expression.
3 | What does "The Word became flesh" mean? | John 1:1 | Chochma | 108554
"There is but one Subjective Mind, and what we call our conscience is really the use we are making of the One Law"-Ernst Homes In the beginning God....God spoke and so it was. Scripture affirms that all things that were created, are created and will ever be created are accomplished by the Son. If God spoke and so it was and if all that is; is because of the Son, it would stand that Jesus is the physical manifestation of the spoken word of God. As Jesus' existence and mortal life are The Way, The Truth and The Life it also stands that that "way, life and truth" must be available to all who wish to experience it. Man's thoughts work according to the same law as God's. God thinks, speaks and so it is. Man thinks, speaks and so it is. Man always fullfills his own prophecies whether he is aware or not. Since this is true it follows that we cannot say that one thought creates while another does not(this is the error of Word Of Faith doctrine). To affirm that you are a child of God then to think ill of your brother and wish him harm is not the true practice of this Universal Law. Thought creates a mold in the Universe, in which the idea is poured, and sets into motion the manifestation of its expression. Ignorance of this excuses no one from it's effects. It is a taskmaster to the fool and a servant to the wise. The word becomes "flesh" in our lives, in our very beings. It will either be our eternal calvary or our daily ressurection , the choice is up to us. |

4 | Man is considered to be what to God? | Gen 1:26 | Chochma | 108540
Man is the physical manifestation of Divine Mind speaking the words of creativity.."I Am".God spoke and therefore we are. God is only God if there is a point of reference from which to experience the Self. Before there was time, creation or anything there was God, the All. Yet how could All experience that it was all unless there be something that be not all. This as Ernst Holmes says is "the thing itself". Man is that "be not all" while at the same time containing the expression and Divine Right of All. In deed if we live and move and have our being in Spirit than Spirit must be this All. |

5 | dreams and visions | Joel 2:28 | Chochma | 108538
Dreams and Visions "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions"-Joel 2:28 The reality of this promise should be an active part of our faith. However, too often the "conservativity"(Bushism) of many "Christians" discards any spiritual gift, leaving us with a watered down weak God who doesn't speak today, doesn't perform miracles and surely doesn't give visions. The true and living faith embraces the visions, prophecies, dreams and intuitions of the mystic path. The Lord spoke to Joseph primarily in his dreams. He taught Peter through visions and He has revealed many important truths in these days through both dreams and visions. Joseph Smith had visions, Ellen White had Dreams, Mary baker Eddy had intuitions, Helen Shuchman had intuitions, Edgar Cayce received dreams-visions-intuitions. Oral Roberts receives dreams and voices. Indeed most ministers receive "promptings" of some sort or another. To deny any of these methods of communication is to deny God His/Her rightful voice. |

8 | Do we await a heavenly peace? | Luke 17:21 | Chochma | 108506
Many translations read ‘among’ because the pronoun ‘you’ is plural here in Greek. This i think gives us a clue as to what the kingdom Is. Do we await a heavenly peace? Why not try peace right now? Do we look up in the shy anxiously awaiting the return of Jesus in the clouds? Why not look around us here on earth and try to find Jesus among the forgotten and afflicted? This forum is full of good "preachers" but much like the Pharisees the core of their hearts are bitter, unloving, full of hate and bigotry. Yes, the kingdom is within them too Why don't they share it instead of containing it? A Course In Miracles talks about such as these. "Beware of the temptation to see yourself unfairly treated. In this view, you seek to find innocence that is not theirs but yours alone, and at the cost of someone else's guilt. Can innocence be purchased by the giving of your guilt to someone else? Whatever way the game of guilt is played, there is always loss, some must lose innocence so that another may have it. "The need to see all humanity as seperate demands inequality even in the smallest aspect of our lives. This injustice and un-Christian additude prevails among this forum. I stand to be cast out from this place for my opinions which I state as opinions. Some may pride themselves on this assumed victory yet they are only defeated in their spirit. I may be stifled but the cause of unity will not. The day will come when there will be one faith, one baptism in spite of the fundementals whom oppose it. |

9 | Can one have the Spirit of God? | 1 Cor 7:40 | Chochma | 108504
It is relatively easy for us to have a relationship with Jesus and our Heavenly Father because Jesus is a human being and our Father fits our image of Fatherhood. But when it comes to relating to a Spirit, or to a Dove, or a Tongue of Fire we are in a difficult situation. How do we love a dove as a person? A dove for us is an animal, not a person. How do we love a spirit as a person? We refer to the Holy Spirit more as a power than as a person, more like an invisible force than a visible person, something that was felt or experienced rather than seen. But the Holy Spirit is a Person. When we look through the Old and New Testaments we constantly see references to the Spirit of Wisdom, whom we have come to know as the Holy Spirit. There is even a Book of Wisdom dedicated to the Holy Spirit. But Wisdom is feminine in Scripture. And would that not indicate that the Holy Spirit is feminine? We also notice that the Spirit has characteristics like 'giving birth,' 'nurturing,' 'creating,' and 'mothering of all God's creation.' These are feminine characteristics. We have always known that within the Godhead, the Trinity, there was a family, the Family of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But a family is not possible without a father and mother. So, even though the Holy Spirit is not named Mother, She seems to have all the characteristics of Divine Motherhood as the Father has of Divine Fatherhood. It seems that despite our outward tradition, there are underlying reasons for accepting the Holy Spirit as feminine. And the name Sophia? Well, Sophia is Greek for wisdom, and it is also a name for us. So, to call Her by Her name given in Scripture would make it possible for us to relate to Her as a Person, and not just as a power. She needs to be known and experienced today as a Person. Remember, there are three Persons in God, in the Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And they all three want to be known primarily as Persons, rather than as a cosmic power or force in the world. The Father has been known as a Person since the beginning of creation. The Son became known as a Person when He was born into this world as Jesus. Now is the time for the Holy Spirit to be known as a Person. The Old testament word for spirit is 'ruwach', meaning wind, breath, inspiration, and the OT Hebrew noun is always feminine. The Septuagint is the ancient Greek edition of the Old Testament. The Septuagint is the source of the Old Testament quotations found in the New Testament. The 'Wisdom of Solomon' was included in the Septuagint. In 'The Wisdom of Solomon' the Holy Spirit is female. The book of Proverbs declares 'God's Wisdom' is female. The Greek 'feminine' term for wisdom', sophia; translates a Hebrew 'feminine' term, hokhmah. In the book of 'Proverbs' contained in the Bible as well as 'The Wisdom of Solomon' contained in the Apocrypha; It is clearly shown that the early Hebrews saw God's Wisdom and Spirit as female. The "Odes of Solomon" is the earliest known Christian book of hymns or odes. It dates from before 100 A.D. In the 'Odes of Solomon'; the Holy Spirit is female. Hermetic writings from the first century AD reveal that the first century Christians used the symbols of both male and female to express the 'light and the life' within God. In the Aramaic roots of The Lord's Prayer. Jesus's original language, The words Jesus used to address God are "Abvwoon Debashmaya." It means, the birther, the bearer, the breather/bringer of life and light. It means both Mother and Father. Also, Jesus spoke of Wisdom as female; ( Matthew 11:19; Luke 7:35) The Hagia Sophia is the largest church in Constantinople (and in the ancient christian world). The historian Socrates indicated that the church was named Sophia during the reign of Emperor Constantius. The name given to the church symbolized the second divine attribute of the Holy Trinity. Originally, Sophia, which means "Holy Wisdom". The original tongue of the Hebrew or Aramaic would translate 'Holy Spirit' as female. Also, Greek would translate 'Holy Spirit' as either female or 'neuter in reference to the subject' and She only became 'He' in Latin and English bibles. Yet, even Milton, in his writing of Paradise Lost, refers to the Holy Spirit and Divine Reason as his Celestial Patroness! Clearly, the ancient church traditions refer to the Holy Spirit in feminine rather than masculine terms. It is important to speak of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter and Reconciler, with a feminine pronoun. The mother aspect of God is real and Holy. "Isaiah 66:13 As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you . . ." |

10 | Does speaking in tongues come naturally? | Acts | Chochma | 108428
You state that:"After the Apostles and the ones receiving these miraclous gifts died, the Gospel didn't need kind of sign because of the advent of the Bible and the fact everyone knew of this history. This was also predicted by Paul in 1 Cor 13." This is an assumption and not a fact and you should state it as an opinion. As for 1 Cr. 13. It is known as the love chapter. Paul speeks of tongues ceasing to support the crux of his message;that in the absence of love the Spirit will withdraw and the gifts with Him. Verse 1 "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal."Verse 8 " Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away." Following your interpretation of verse eight than I suppose there is no need for knowledge either since the death of the Apostles. Blessed Be, Chochma |

11 | Senility 'n th'Word of God: A Meditation | Is 26:3 | Chochma | 108269
"Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free." Sickness,Disease and Mental illness enslave the spirit, placing it in sujection to the body. This body that man has clung to is a creation of his own delusions. Realizing the supremacy of Spirit and the error of self freedom from sickness is recognized. It is understood amongst psychologists that depression causes one to become self centered and withdrawn. Could it be that this assumed effect could also be the cause? To measure intellectual capacity by the size of the brain and strength by the exercise of muscle is to subjugate intelligence, to make mind mortal , and to place this so-called mind at the mercy of material organization and non-intelligent matter. Obedience to the so-called physical laws of health has not checked sickness. Diseases have multiplied, since man-made material theories took the place of spiritual truth. You say that indigestion, fatigue, sleeplessness, cause distressed stomachs and aching heads. Then you consult your brain in order to remember what has hurt you, when your remedy lies in forgetting the whole thing; for matter has no sensation of its own and the human mind is all that can produce pain. The popular doctor believes in his prescription, and the pharmacist believes in the power of his drugs to save a man's life. The erring human mind is inharmonious in itself. From it arises the inharmonious body. To ignore God as of little use in sickness is a mistake. Failing to recover health through adherence to physiology and hygiene, the despairing invalid often drops them, and in his extremity and only as a last resort, turns to God. The invalid's faith in the Divine Mind is less than in drugs, air, and exercise, or he would have resorted to God first. The balance of power is conceded to be with matter by most of the medical systems; but when God is given permission by the invalid at last asserts its mastery over sin, disease, and death, then is man found to be harmonious and immortal. Should we implore a corporeal God to heal the sick out of His personal volition, or should we understand the infinite divine Principle which heals? If we rise no higher than blind faith, the healing is not attained, and Soul-existence, in the place of sense-existence, is not comprehended. We live abundantly only as we live above corporeal sense and correct it. We cannot serve two masters. Either we live and move and have our very existence in Spirit or we submit to flesh and the enslavement it is. |

14 | Jacob blessed after deception ??? | Gen 28:14 | Chochma | 108244
I am sorry that my profile would lend you to come to this conclusion regarding my devotion. I am devoted to All of God. I see his very presence in every aspect of life. The omnipresent God cannot fit the guidelines and boundaries of the Bible. The Bible is a tool to Divine Mind. Just as the nail can never become the hammer yet is only useful with the proper understanding of what a hammer is, so God attempts to build us through sacred scripture yet only is the scripture useful in so much as we are willing to see God outside of, above, more important than the scripture. Knowing, experiencing, uniting with God is true scripture. It ,in cooperation with scripture, can enlighten the christ-conciousness or anointing in our lives. My user profile declares no truth for anyone beside myself and those whom are walking similar paths. I have been a mystic for fifteen years since an experience which is of no ones business but my own. However in these years I have been to many many many churches, denominations, ministries silently sharing with those who seek me out. Gnosis is the hidden knowledge that must remain hidden until the day that it will be shouted from the rooftops. It is this that declare. |

15 | How Moses lead people | OT general | Chochma | 108239
There are many questions in regard to Moses. Was there an Exodus? Probably not. In fact considering the complete lack of any written documentation from egypt it is almost certain there was never an enslavement of Israel by Pharoh. The facts remain that the Egyptians were big braggers . The literature left from the era of the supposed Exodus says absolutely nothing about the Hebrews or even a Moses. Moses and Exodus represent the myths, hopes and dreams of a small group of nomads in the arabian desert. The Hebrews were traveling plunders and theives, murders and scavengers who became a great nation on the backs of victomized Cananites,Hitites etc. Theres your summary of Moses the law-giver |

16 | Jacob blessed after deception ??? | Gen 28:14 | Chochma | 108232
This question reminds me of a book "In the beginning" by Karen Armstrong. She states her case pretty early on: there is no way to get a coherant understanding of God from reading Genesis. He is utterly contradictory -- creative and all-powerful in one story; vengeful and capricious in the next. This paradox has befuddled many of reader. I, for one, had come to think of Genesis as typical of the flawed meaninglessness of the Bible. But Armstrong has me reconsidering my conclusion. It seems clear, she says, that all the characters in Genesis have to endure afflictions and unfairness. Whether they are favored in God's eyes or not, their lives are difficult. A relationship with God doesn't spare them difficulties -- instead the meaning in their lives is derived in part by making it through their difficulties with their faith intact. The story of Jacob is no different in these respects. A close pondering of the scriptures illumines the mind to the realization of who God is. God is not the packaged spell that most use when in need of a miracle . God truly is a being of higher wisdom and purpose than we could ever fathom. We may question the motives of Divine Mind but we must also be prepared for the answers that he will surely give. In the case of Jacob the answer is "Life is unfair and sometimes its meant to be that way". |

17 | do all babies and children go to heaven | Mark 10:14 | Chochma | 108157
I must interject here. This is a perfect example of literalism gone mad. The first question is: Was Soddom and Gommorah real? Answer: Maybe Question Two: What happened to Sodom and Gommorah? Answer: Based upon recent Archeologicak evidence. The area which might be the place of these cities show large amounts of sulfor in the sediments. What has been found is small rocks/stom\nes/spheres of rock or stone with sulfur contained under several lasyers. The consideration of a major quake occurring and the high content of sulfurin this region lends us to a reasonable explaination of the Biblical account. The theory states that a quake brought Soddom and Gommorah to crumbles. The intense activity of falling rocks, splitting earth and gasses escaping from the ground would easily ignite these balls of sulfur causing them to soar in the air. From a disteance this phenomena would appear as if fire was raining down onto the cities. An obvious conclusion would bring us to believe that The cities of Sodom and Gommorah were victoms of natural disasters and that, as man has always done, the author of the biblical story blamed it on the gods and in this case the blame was on Jehovah. This brings me to the question at hand regarding babies. Those innocent children were victoms as were their parents of an awful catastrophe of nature. The belief that these babies were wicked and therefore deserved such an awful death is asa insane as declaring 9/11 an act of God. I think God gave us a brain not just a scripture to use in questions such as these. |

18 | January 1st, Mary the Mother Of God | John 19:27 | Chochma | 107797
ven though the New Testament uses a variety of images in its reflection on Mary, that of "mother" is most fundamental. The historical fact that Mary gave birth to Jesus established her unique relationship to her Son, a relationship that serves as the basis for all other reflections about her. That simple fact is declared throughout the New Testament: Jesus did not drop down from heaven; he was born of a woman. Paul gives that fundamental belief in his Letter to the Galatians: (first letter written): "But when the completion of the time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman . . . (Galatians 4:4). The title Mother of God had a fiercely fought history. No one ever doubted that she was mother of Jesus, that she gave birth to Jesus of Nazareth, that she was the mother of the one who died on the cross during the reign of Tiberius Caesar. But since some in the early days of Christianity doubted the Divinity of the Son, they doubted also her claim to that title Mother of God. Mother of Jesus - Yes: Mother of God - No. At times, a given issue comes to a head. Then an Ecumenical Council (General Council), a meeting of bishops representing the entire Church is called together; which proposes carefully phrased doctrines, statements to be believed by the entire Church. In 431 a Council was called at Ephesus because Nestorius, the Patriarch (Church leader) of Constantinople and some of his followers refused to call Mary the Mother of God. He taught that there were two separate persons in Christ, one divine, the other human. He held that Mary is not the Mother of God, but of the man Jesus Christ. His heresy was strongly opposed by Cyril, Bishop of Alexandria, who condemned Nestorius. The Council declared at its first meeting that Mary was the Mother of God. That evening crowds of Ephesians were jubilant and chanting, "Praised be the Theotokos (Creek, God-bearer), Long live Cyril,' accompanied Cyril and the bishops to their hostels. Subsequent Ecumenical Councils (of the whole Christian World), such as Chaleedon, 451 A.D., and 11 Constantinople, 553 A.D., made the meaning of "Mother of God" even more precise. The Council of Ephesus 431 and the Council of Chaleedon 45 1, reinterpreted the biblical language to express the essence of Jesus as having the nature of God and the nature of man in one and the same person. The Church's insistence on this title, Mother of God, (Greek: Theotokos - God bearing), is understandable, since no other formula makes so evident the intimate link between devotion to the Virgin Mary and belief in the Incarnation (Latin, taking on human flesh). This title was already in use in parts of the Church as early as the third century. The original form of the familiar prayer, "We fly to your patronage, 0 holy Mother of God" may also be that early. |
