2 | Support for Israel! | 1 Chr 12:18 | Chearie | 47158
Look at Luke 21:20-27 I believe that Jerusalem will only have peace upon the return of our saviour JESUS Christ I believe when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem - we indeed are praying for HIS return.
3 | Why was Cain's offering not acceptable? | Gen 4:5 | Chearie | 47153
When we accept the Bible as the inspired word of God then Hebrews 11:4 is not just Paul's intrepretation but rather God's inspiration. I do not know anything about John Gill but I do know that there are many Godly Christian who share their understanding of God's word and that can be an aid. I also believe that Bible study must always start with prayer - there is no greater guide to understanding than the Holy Spirit. |

4 | The correct lineage of Joel? | 1 Chr 5:4 | Chearie | 47147
Thanks searcher I am doing a geneology of all the people noted in the bible and I guess Joel will have to stand alone until I can how he connects to Reuben. I have found it very interesting to trace what I can of the old testament and see again so clearly how God has been involved in the lives of His people. He is truly wonderful. Thanks again for trying to help. |

6 | Doen't "New Age" teach oneness? | John 14:6 | Chearie | 44590
What does New Age to do with the gospel of Christ. The Bible teaches from exodus through to the words of Jesus - Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me (Yahweh) and You must love the Lord your God with all of your mind, strength, spirit and being. No where does it mention that there are multiple gods but only One True Living God present as the trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
7 | I'm not worried about the end, are you? | Rev 7:4 | Chearie | 44588
Worry belies the faith we have in Jesus Christ. If our relationship is with Him and we accept our salvation through His death on the cross then indeed our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life Rev. 21:27
8 | Fools have no interest in understanding | Prov 18:2 | Chearie | 44586
It's all a matter of focus - The center of attention for the fool is himself
9 | Why does this passage not work? | John 14:13 | Chearie | 44584
If this passage is literal why do we not see sight restored to the blind, hearing to the deaf and a cure for cancer. Surely these things have been asked in the name of Jesus and for the glorification of the Father
10 | Similarities of Moses and Jesus? | Bible general Archive 1 | Chearie | 41649

11 | beliefs and practices of christians? | Rom 10:9 | Chearie | 41467
I welcome the opportunity to testify 1)YES - more so ever day 2)As a child - I trusted Jesus as my saviour and best friend - He was there for me when no one else was - sadly as a young adult I walked away from the relationship but the power of the Spirit I came back first on a superficial level because of my children but now on a very personal level because He is indeed LORD of my life 3)Yes I was raised as a Catholic, married as a Presbyterian, raised by children as Congregationalists but as an adult I have come home to the Nazarene Church and know that this is my family 4)Yes I was confirmed as a young Catholic and committed by life Christ as a Presbyterian and was filled with Holy Spirit as a Nazarene 5)Yes 2 ways - In a formal manner through prayer and reading His Word - In an informal manner He is always (almost always) in my thoughts. I have frequent inaudible discussions with the Lord throughout the day 6)Every chance I get (2-3 times a week) 7)I am a Christian because I believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who became man, suffered and died for my sins, He was crucified and resurrected, He has ascended to heaven and will return in all His glory and splendor. 8)The obvious difference is that I believe in Christ the non-Christian does not. 9)To be a disciple means to follow the example of Christ or the Christian disciplines of love, mercy and caring about all of God's creation. 10)A disciple in training - I try but I still make mistakes - only with God's help can I practice this discipline. 11)I am a sinner - each time I sin I separate myself from God. Sin sets an example that can lead others away from Christ. 12)There are things that I choose not to do but because I am free in Christ there is nothing that is forbidden - the choice is mine and I choose JESUS. Thanks for the opportunity to testify |

12 | why do they say we are in the end times? | 2 Thess 2:3 | Chearie | 41463
Indeed many people today see the events in the book of revelations as current events and it is possible to see how some people think that all the pieces of that puzzle are fitting together now but be careful the Word says that no man shall no know (Matt. 24:36) and that He comes like a thief in the night (1Thess. 5:2) I do not look forward to the end times - Revelation does not paint a pretty picture but I thrill at the coming return of Jesus in all His glory
13 | Was Satan speaking through Peter ?? | Mark 8:33 | Chearie | 40393
I appreciate your thoughts on satan but I do not agree that salvation is a process. Salvation comes the blood of Jesus Christ. There is nothing I can do to earn it I do not believe I can be 50percent or 75percent or even 90perent saved. Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ and any process that I participate in, is the result of that salvation - salvation is not a result of the process.
14 | baptism | Luke 3:3 | Chearie | 40335
I believe the time lapse from old to new testament was 400 years In Matthew 11:11 Jesus says the following of John "Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist than John the Baptist" |

17 | Paul's view of women and marriage | 1 Cor 7:1 | Chearie | 40311
First - I believe it is important to recognize that Jesus thought enough of marriage that He chose a marriage feast to perform His first miracle, and Jesus did nothing by accident. Second -Paul is writing in response to questions that had been sent to him regarding the problem sexual immorality in Corinth at that time. Third - We all have diferent weaknesses and areas that are prone to Satan's attack. Paul was only expressing his concern for what they were dealing with. Paul had his own thorns to deal with. Lastly-Paul's letter to the Corinthians goes on ( chapter 7 verse 26) to address what he saw as turbluent days ahead for married Christians because in times of persecution, considereation for family can make it difficult to live out Christian convictions to the fullest extent. A single Christian would not be deterred by the possiblity of repercussions affecting their family. |

18 | Was Satan speaking through Peter ?? | Mark 8:33 | Chearie | 40307
This passage appears to say that Satan was speaking through Peter when Peter rebuked Jesus for describing His death. Was Peter possessed? Was Jesus speaking for the benefit of His disciples or directly to Satan??
19 | are believers still considered sinners ? | Romans | Chearie | 40293
In 1 Tim.1:15 Paul does not talk about himself in the past tense as a sinner but rather that he is currently a sinner. I believe that those who follow Christ and have salvation are not perfect-we continue to try to root out sin in our lives to become the best that we can to serve our Lord. Paul is a good example of a sinner - saved by the grace of Jesus Christ but still a sinner.
20 | baptism | Luke 3:3 | Chearie | 40263
I believe that John was a powerful preacher/teacher and was relaying a message tht people followed. John had received the word of God and was preaching throughout the whole territory. John had a following the he taught them to "Turn away from your sins and be baptized, and God will forgive your sins. This accomplishes the words of Isaiah who said "someone is shouting in the desert: Get the road ready for the Lord: make a straight path ... |
