1 | Must a woman have long hair | 1 Corinthians | CMK | 85024
In Numbers 6 God gives the vow of the Nazirite in which a man also dedicates his hair to God. And Samson lost his strenght on account of the cutting of his hair. Nothing like that ever happened to any of the female judges. |

2 | Must a woman have long hair | 1 Corinthians | CMK | 85023
This question grabbed my attention because this past year is the first in over 10 years that my hair did not fall past my waist. I agree with verse 15 that a woman's hair is her glory. I also agree with the note that I found in my "Life Application Study Bible" ""1 Cor 11:11-15 In talking about head coverings and length of hair, Paul is saying that believers should look and behave in ways that are honorable within their own culture. In many cultures long hair on men is considered appropriate and masculine. In Corinth, it was thought to be a sign of male prostitution in the pagan temples. And women with short hair were labeled prostitutes. Paul was saying that in Corinthian culture, Christian women should keep their hair long. If short hair on women was a sign of prostitution, then a Christian with short hair would find it even more difficult to be a believable witness for Jesus Christ. Paul wasn't saying we should adopt all the practices of our culture, but that we should avoid appearances and behavior that detract from out ultimate goal of being believable witnesses for Jesus Christ while demonstrating our Christian faith."" 3 | We are the Temple of the Living God | 1 Corinthians | CMK | 85019
I have recently returned to the Lord after a period of doubt and searching. I found that in each of the paths I followed I once again "found" the Lord. So I don't prefer the term container. I wouldn't want to believe that God can be contained. I prefer the word, "Vessel." Although a vessel is something that holds, it also gives the idea of moving. As a ship (vessel) brings missionaries to foreign lands, so we bring the Lord to those around us. God fills me and works through me and He doesn't stop there.
4 | Are "God" and "Lord" Interchangeable? | Not Specified | CMK | 85017
I am one of those people who find it hard to slow down and just BE. I have recently had the line from an old song running through my head. "Be Still and know that I am the Lord." (I don't recall the rest of the song, so I can't give the quote). I want to embroider this into a wall hanging so that I will have a prominant reminder. I have looked in each different version of the Bible that I have to quote it properly, and in every version, it says "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 I want to know if "God" and "Lord" are truely interchangable. What are the differences? |
