3 | Is this speaking of Christ or believers? | John 1:13 | Brian#9 | 188341
George sir; Verse 13 speaks of the sonship of verse 12. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown say it better than I can. Which were born, [egenneetheesan ]. Observe this word "born," or begotten. It was not a name only, a dignity only, which Christ conferred on them: it was a new birth, it was a change of nature-the soul being made conscious, in virtue of it, of the vital capacities, perceptions, and emotions a 'child of God' to which before it was a total stranger. But now for the Source and Author of that new birth- both negatively and positively. Not of blood- not of 'superior human descent' as we judge the meaning to be, Nor of the will of the flesh- not of 'human generation' at all, Nor of the will of man- not of man in any ways in which his will brings anything about. By this elaborate, three-fold denial of human and earthly source of this sonship, how emphatic dose the following declaration of its real source become! But of God. A sonship strictly divine then, in its source this was which Christ conferred on as many as received Him. Right royal gift which whoever confers must be absolutely divine. For who would not worship Him who can bring him into the family and evoke within him the life, of the children of God? Now comes the great climax, to introduce and raise us to the altitude of which the foregoing thirteen verses were penned. Barnes Notes brings out 6 points; 1] that if man are saved they must be born again. 2] that their salvation is not the result of their birth,or of any honorable or pious parentage. 3] that the children of the rich and the noble, as well as of the poor, must be born of God if they will be saved. 4] that the children of pious parents must be born again; or they cannot be saved. None will go to heaven simply because their "parents" are Christians. 5] that this work is the work of God, and "no man" can do it for us. 6] that we should forsake all human dependence, cast off all confidence in the flesh, and go at once to the throne of Grace, and beseech of God to adopt us into His family and save our souls from death. 4 | Are we something before we were somethin | Is 43:7 | Brian#9 | 187616
Both Doc and Hank have voiced their position about Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. I have both listed on my knucklehead list under MYSTICISM. Lee has his own version of the New Testament. Therefore I am in total agreement with both Doc and Hank. Personally I see pollution of the Word by mysticism as part of the beginnings of the "end time one world church." In His Hand, Brian |

7 | Job 1:6, Is Satan also a son of God? | Job 1:6 | Brian#9 | 185737
Good morning Aminat, As you have NASB here how about; Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. ESV The angels are call the 'sons of God' due to their 'relationship' to God the Father in this verse. As Satan once was but at this time is not. This is the reason even thou he is among them. He is separate from them in the verse. You might also take a look at John 6:70 May the Lord Bless your study, Brian |

8 | McClintock and Strong Encyopedia? | Bible general Archive 3 | Brian#9 | 185473
Thank you Sir, I also use the Strong's Concordance which is why I am looking at his Encyclopedia. As I have not found any denominations in the Bible, the Methodists make no difference to me. The 'learned men' dose. I try everything against the Bible anyway. What encyclopedia do you like the best? On a scale from 1 to 10, is there a 10? (your learned opinion):-) :-) 1 John 1:9 and 1 John 1:7b, Brian |

13 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Gen 2:9 | Brian#9 | 184618
Thank you Sir; How do you rightly divide the verses I mention in my post within the three time periods you mentioned? I did not say that the Church would be replacing Israel. By "taking up the responsibilities" more like being past a baton in a race to carry it across the finish line. Israel (remnant) with Christ on His Throne, and the sheep 'nations',without Satan's influence for 1,000 years fits where? In His Hand, Brian |

14 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Gen 2:9 | Brian#9 | 184569
Hello Jonp; You mean the Kingdom of God. Where are you going with 'old' Israel and 'new' Israel? Yes the Church (believers in Christ) has taken up the responsibility that once was Israels. The promises to Israel are still in effect. (God dose not change) Remember the 144,000. In the Bible 'nation' refers to heathen, Gentile correct? Are you using it that way here? I asked for the definition of 'period' of Kingly Rule of God. When dose it begin, and now when dose it end? I ask you to define 'period' of the everlasting kingdom, and when dose it begin. These are your terms in your explanation. In His Hand, Brian |

15 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Gen 2:9 | Brian#9 | 184557
Hello JonP sir; Please define,"period of the Kingly Rule of God". When dose it end? Please define,"period of the everlasting kingdom". When dose it begin? The reason for this is that I will not misunderstand what you are saying due to present day culture.(your part of the world, as to my part of the world) You referred to "the new Israel of God", this I gather is the believers in Christ correct? (culture thing) The promises to the 'old Israel of God' are still in effect, correct? You are correct that Micah 4:17 is not in the Bible, but Micah 4:1-7 is . (sorry) You mentioned the 'never' in Jeremiah 33:17; why not the "never" in Joel 2:26,27? You asked, "why omitted" Ezekiel 37:24-28. All the verses I posted are ones that I had in my notes on Revelation 20:4-6. Sorry I missed these, they are added now. Revelation 20:4-6, What time period and why? Luke 1:33, What time period and why? Deuteronomy 28:13, What time period and why? Zechariah 8:23, What time period and why? Ezekiel 43:1-7, What time period and why? Thank you for your time, may the Lord bless you, Brian |

16 | The fruit and leaves of the tree of life | Gen 2:9 | Brian#9 | 184522
Hello Jonp sir; I am a little confused. If there is no Millennial Age. What period of time is; Joel 2:21-27, Joel 3:18-21, Isaiah 35:1-10, Isaiah 2:2-4, Amos 9:9-15, Micah 4:17, Isaiah 11:4-10, Zephaniah 3:20, Habakkuk 2:14, Haggai 2:6-9, Zechariah 8:3-4, Zechariah 14:16-21, Jeremiah 31:27-34, Jeremiah 33:12-26, Ezekiel 36:33-38, Revelation 20:4-6? What period of time will the Shekinah Glory Return? (Ezekiel 43:1-7) What period of time will Christ sit on David's throne and reign over the house of Jacob? (Luke 1:30-33) What period of time will Israel be the Head of Nations? (Deuteronomy 28:13) What period of time will the Gentile Nations be submissive and blessed under Israel? (Zechariah 8:23, Matthew 25:32-34) If no Millennial Age where do they fit? In His Hand, Brian |

18 | 70A.D. or not? | Matt 16:28 | Brian#9 | 183943
Hello Tom, You are not the only one that is benefiting from this post. This is a two way street. Questions to be asked about the time from the Cross to 70A.D. and until now. Matt. 24:14; "in ALL the world," "unto ALL nations," (heathen) did this happen? Matt. 24:15; did this happen? Matt.24:21; has this happen? Matt. 24:22; tribulation so great that no 'flesh'(man) saved, the days are shortened so the 'elect'(remnant)would be? Matt. 24:27; was His Coming as noticeable as this? Matt. 24:29; did this happen? Matt. 24:30 did the tribes (Israelites) mourn at the sight of Jesus Coming with Power and great Glory? Matt. 24:31; did a trumpet sound and all the 'elect' [ NT:1588 eklektos, eklektee, eklekton (eklegoo), (from Thayer's Greek Lexicon)(without the genitive Theou), Matt. 24:22 (with the addition of tou Christou, as the genitive possessor), Matt. 24:31 ] come from four winds, and from one of heaven to the other? Tom, verse 14; (not yet - to possible) today. As for verses 15,21,22,27,29,30 and 31 not yet, but getting close? Sorry about the 'hear' and not 'here' in my last post. You and I both agree that Jesus did not know when the Father was to have Him return. How could He predict an alleged time frame?( generation - being 30-40 years or whatever ) He did know that a remnant would be saved.(Deu. 28:13) He did know that He could come at any time. (Luke 12:40, 2 Peter 3:10, 1 Thess. 5:2, Rev. 16:15) If He knew that He was Coming back during that time frame, why did He teach His imminent return? Is not the primary definition of generation (genea) race, kind, family, stock, and breed? Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that the difference between the primary and secondary meaning of a word, and our English is the root of our differences. Is this true? 19 | 70A.D. or not? | Matt 16:28 | Brian#9 | 183889
Hello Tom, How important is it that Jesus came back in 70A.D. or not? Anything my Lord and Savior dose is important to me. And if He did not why are they teaching it? Quote " I believe the disciples hearing Jesus say to them,"34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." could have no other understanding than that their generation - them and others living at that time - were the ones meant, and that after all signs detailed from verse 4-33 were fulfilled, then would be His Coming." Tom do you believe Jesus came back in 70A.D.yes or no? "I agree He couldn't reveal more than the Father would allow and to do so would be a sin. Moreover, to say He didn't know if He did know would also be a sin." We are in total agreement hear. Do you believe that Matt. 24:34 is part of the proof that Jesus came back in 70A.D.? Still looking for Truth, Brian P.S. God's days ,He is the only one that counts. |

20 | Why 70 A.D. and why predictions | Matt 16:28 | Brian#9 | 183837
Hello Tom, I will ask you the same questions. Why 70 A.D.? Matt. 16:28; explain 'some'. In 70 A.D. John was the only one alive. Then His Coming in 70 A.D. would be contradicting Jesus. Matt 24:34; 'generation' as a period of time or time frame thereby saying Jesus was predicting His Coming. Only the Father knows as you pointed out.Jesus did not and could not reveal any more than what the Father warranted Him to reveal.(John 17:8, John 15:15, John 8:26) Jesus was under the authority of the Father.(John 12:48, John 12:50, John 5:30, John 5:19, John 8:28, John 14:10, John 15:10, John 14:24, John 17:14) Christ was the Mediator of the Father's Will. Remember Acts 1:7 and Mark 13:33. To reveal more would be a sin, right? If Jesus came back as King of kings, and Lord of lords In 70 A.D. did the MT. of Olive split in half? (Zech. 14:4) Did everybody in the world see Him? (Matt. 24:30) What about the sun, moon, stars , and the powers of heaven shaken? (Matt. 24:29) As we do not know when Jesus is to return are we not suppose to be in readiness, watchfulness, prayerfulness with our hearts on things above (Luke 12:34) and not things of the world (Matt. 6:24-33). It has not been two days since Jesus was here. ( 2 Peter 3:8) In Quest of Truth, Brian |
