I will not apologize; I do not want to take the need to morn nor the want to morn away from those who have to, But, I agree with the comment of J.F. Not because he is well known. My very own SR. pastor preached this past Sunday on the same topic. Trust me we shed tears together over this tragety. But the act is the blame of radicals, But a huge chuck of the blame lies with the direction we as a nation have taken. I am sure that if you saw a poster that read "Bin Laden for president in 2004" you would be Horrified, however, when we elect officials to office that advocate the death of un-born babies or refuse to provide medical treatment to the elderly because they serve no useful purpose in life, we are in fact openning the door to this kind of behavior.
3 | What is a Worldview? | 1 John | Bob Rose | 15235
Since you don't find the word "worldview" in the text of God's Word, I found the word "world" mentioned many times in 1John 4 and 5. I could be way off base but my take on a meaning goes a little like this. The word "worldview" pictures a set of observatons as viewed by a set of rules or common practices. Secular worldview would then be what is acceptable by the world, not knowing or following Christ personally, and Christian worldview would be looking at the world through God's Eyes. At this point then one would say that the Secular worldview would be looking at the world through Satan's eyes, who is said to be the god of this world in both Daniel and in the New Testament. However I feel you have a much better answer than this. I have read some of your writtings on this forum, and am quite impressed by the Spirit in you........Bob
4 | Fuller understanding required | Luke | Bob Rose | 14604
In Luke 16 where Jesus is telling the Parable of the richman and Lazarus, Jesus is showing us how we should act toward each other while we are here in this world, which you know is not our world if we belong to Him, Jesus' most repeated command to us is to love one another. He mentioned many times in the New Testament. His point here is to show us that some people will not hear the Gospel of Jesus no matter what miraculous signs they see. The richmans down fall was, he had all he needed and then some, but, he cold love his fellow man enought to help him out, However that was not why he went to hell. He went to hell because he chose to be disobedient to God's call to righteousness. When he called out to Abraham, he said send someone to warn my brothers, His burden for others changed, but way to late. If he and his brothers ignored Lazarus when he was alive, what makes him think they would change, if he returned from the grave?
