1 | Why did Judas betray Jesus? | Matt 26:15 | Bill2 | 8053
To add to this, I believe Judas wanted Christ to do things like Judas wanted Him to do. He was not satisfied with the way Jesus did things. I wonder how many times I have been wrong and felt that way.
2 | Is Bible study important? | 2 Tim 2:15 | Bill2 | 3667
It is very important to engage in serious Bible study as it helps one to draw closer to God. It helps us to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect. It gives us the answers we need for those who show a genuine interest in wanting Christ in their lives. It also helps Christians to be able to work together in the church, work place, and at home. It also helps us to work among unbelievers. It gives us a Godly perspective on worldly ways. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that "all Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
3 | JESUS GREW IN WISDOM | Heb 5:8 | Bill2 | 3666
I believe that He grew in the wisdom of God as He grew older. Yes, He was omniscient but I do believe He learned from the Creator Himself as He was humanly maturing. How can it be that He knows all but still is learning? I do not know if I can really understand it myself but I believe God revealed to Jesus what He needed to know each and every day. I believe Christ matured every day by always being in His Father's will. This brings to mind another question. Why did He not start His ministry until He was 30 years old? Since these were human minds writing the Bible with the inspiration of God it is possible they really did not(as we don't) have the vocabulary to express Godly things. I don't know if I have explained this to anybody's satisfaction but it is my opinion and I am entitled to be wrong occasionally. The more I think about this the more I realize I don't know the answer to the question. |

4 | Was Jesus disciplined as a child? | Heb 5:8 | Bill2 | 3663
We had quite a discussion on whether Jesus was disciplined in a Sunday school class recently. I believe that He possibly needed only to learn social skills as a toddler but as to being disciplined I don't believe He had to be as He was without sin. I did want to "hear" from some of you about this. In Luke 2:48, I believe that Mary reproves Jesus but I also believe she does not see the big picture either(See Luke 2:50).

8 | May I Ask Again... Bible Software? | Bible general Archive 1 | Bill2 | 2829
I use PC Study Bible and I find it very easy to use. Sometimes I find it has more info than I need at the time. It is not inexpensive and there are add-ons regularly if you want them.
9 | Is it a sin to committ suicide? | Bible general Archive 1 | Bill2 | 2443
Yes, it is a sin to commit suicide (Exodus 20:13). But, that doesn't mean that a Christian will not commit suicide. Depression is a horrible condition/disease that hurts in the deepest way and causes Christian people to take their own lives. I would not recommend anyone to do it but I surely would never condemn them. I don't know the answer to depression but I do know that we Christians should pray continously for those who suffer with it. Something I have always been told is that if a depressed friend tells you that he or she is considering suicide, the best thing to tell them at that point is "please, don't, you are a dear friend." I also believe that a Christian who has commited suicide is in the arms of Christ. |

10 | what is the best inter. of the bible | Bible general Archive 1 | Bill2 | 2440
I agree with this statement of JVHO212: "Finally, the bottom line answer to your question is: the best translation is the one *you* TRUST and UNDERSTAND." Don't underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit to help you understand what is said in the Bible whether it be in the NASB or the KJV or the NIV or . . .
11 | can we pray for people after they died | Bible general Archive 1 | Bill2 | 2438
I agree with Hugger. I don't believe there is any scriptural basis for it either but I do know that sometimes prayers for others (deceased or not) helps the praying person to have a better understanding of the character of God.
12 | Why won't Calvinists answer directly??? | Job 38:1 | Bill2 | 2437
I cannot answer your question with any authority but I can say that I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and He is preparing a place for me and will return to get me sometime. I don't know when. I don't have any idea if I was "elected". I do know I am going to be in heaven with Christ someday.
