4 | Full armor of God | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 237404
Since you do not literally put on armor, there is no need to take anything off at night. Any good soldier is always prepared for battle. Gideon's army was picked by how alert they stayed while doing a simple task of drinking water. No, I don't sleep with my Bible under my pillow, yes it is next to my bed, not so I can jump up and slash the devil with it, but because it is closest place for me to sit it when I'm done reading. We are encouraged to hide the Word of God in our heart. The Bible encourages us to be prepared, that Satan is roaming around, yet we are also told that the Lord has overcome Satan. A prayer that I learned as a child still brings peace to me today, "now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep". Knowing my soul is in His hands I have nothing to fear, awake or sleeping. When struggles and fears come, one is prepared to deal with them by having the armor of the Lord fully on. Brad |

6 | Da vanci code | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 236674
I'm assuming you are referring to the book/movie of the same name. If my assumption is correct, I would make the simple statement that the Da Vinci Code is fictional (reference 2005/2006 court case in London where Dan Brown won his copyright case because his book is fiction “It would be quite wrong if fictional writers were to have their writings pored over in the way DVC (Da Vinci Code) has been pored over in this case by authors of pretend historical books to make an allegation of infringement of copyright,” Smith said in his 71-page.) 10 | Why are walls needed in Heaven? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 235439
I think verse 21:25 helps gives a little clarification: and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. (Revelation 21:25 ESV) Yes, walls and gates are for safety of those inside and keeping dangers out, yet verse 21 makes it clear that the gates will never be shut. If you told someone back in Biblical time that the gates would not be shut, especially at night, they would most likely thought you were crazy. The gates worked with the walls to keep the dangers out. Yet since no dangers are present, there is no need to close the gates. The open gates to me shows that the dangers have been defeated and that no longer is there anything to fear. Brad |

11 | can a wife refuse sex with her husband? | 1 Corinthians | BMyers | 235417
Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. (1 Corinthians 7:1-5 ESV) Brad |

13 | Ridding myself of guilt and fear | James 5:16 | BMyers | 235225
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.(James 5:16 ESV) I would encourage you, if you are not, find a good local Christian church that you can attend and seek counsel from them. The forum is great place to exchange ideas and thoughts, but not the best place for getting counseling in such a public format. Psalms 32 is a very good read, which you can see confession and forgiveness. Brad |
