Isaiah 46:4 says I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. This is a great verse for those of us getting older but perhaps you are young. There are other things also. We are to continue being a witness to God's power and love when we are old. We are to be wise and teach the younger people by word and example how to love each other, their families, and most of all the Lord. Have a great day Neal! |

3 | How do I honor God and my parents? | Ex 20:12 | BEABECKER | 175203 | ||
Grace and peace, Sweetest Miami, You are absolutely right to want a relationship devoid of ritualism with Jesus. Although many Catholics are sincere in their religion, they are sincerley wrong when it comes to things like praying to Mary and the saints. Actually, you can prove it to them in the scriptures. For instance, the scriptures say we have only one mediator - Jesus Christ. That means we do not have to go through confession. There are many others. I went to the Catholic Church when young and the Lord led me out too. I married a Catholic who has now converted simply because we opened a Catholic Bible and a Protestant Bible and found that they read the same. Catholic only means universal. When the put the word "Roman" before it, they added many pagan traditions which they have incorporated into their doctrine despite the fact that they are scripturally wrong. Since you are counting on your parents for support, you may find that you will have to sacrifice that support if they are not willing to see that you have found "The Way". However, Jesus once said He did not come to bring peace to a family but division. I believe this is because some will refuse to see Him for who He is and dump all their "religiosity". We are called to stand for the truth but there is no guarantee that we will not suffer for it. Suffering for Christ is also a scriptural promise and we are to count it all joy! God bless and guide you. Matthew 19:29 Bea |
