4 | Conversion THEN baptism...verses?? | Acts 2:38 | Ash_Lynne_129 | 151622
I agree with this way of thinking , and have attempted to explain it to my friend. However, he's the type of person who needs to see a specific verse in front of him. I read through acts and could nto find the specific verse you seem to be reffering to. Do you know the exact refference? That would be helpful. Thanks so much.

6 | Conversion THEN baptism...verses?? | Not Specified | Ash_Lynne_129 | 151616
I have a friend who believes in infant baptism, I personally do not and never have. I believe that a person shoudl only be baptised if they have accepted Christ as their personal savior. IT is a form of obedience right? As we were discussing it, he asked me for some scripture reffrences to help him understand my point of view. I could not think of a single one. I guess it's just one of those areas of belief that my church has always held to and I never really knew any of the verses to back it up. Does anyone know where I can find these?

8 | Is Jesus always the Light? | Acts | Ash_Lynne_129 | 151615
In answer to your first question, I think that Jesus is in fact the Light of the world, both now and forever. In John 8:12 it Jesus say " I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but in the light." So we can see that we will never walk in darkness but in the light. The word never is a huge word with a lot of meaning. HE says never becuase he means NEVER, therefor Jesus is always the light, becuase he is what keeps us from darkness. If he were to cease to be that Light we woudl find ourselves surrounded in darkness, and this can never happen. Does that answer your question? I am not sure if I explained that very well. The scriptures also say in Mathew, that as Christians we are to be the Light of the world, a city on a hill. WE are to show the love of God, and live as he did. So in a sense Both God and Christians are the Light. |

10 | Favorite version of the Scriptures? | Not Specified | Ash_Lynne_129 | 151604
Simple question... I'm just curious to know what your favorite version of the bible is and what do you like about it? I usually read the NIV but I know that there are others out there that might help me more in studying and understanding, as well as application.

13 | can you lose your salvation or not? | 2 Cor 1:22 | Ash_Lynne_129 | 151598
Hello, I am a baptist as well and I firmly believe that you cannot lose your salvation. Think about it this way. If God has the power to save you once. Which I think we both believe he does, then to say that he does not have the power or authority to keep you saved is like sayign that God is not in charge or that we have more power than he does, like we have the final say. And that is not the case at all. I will look and see if I can find you a specific verse. I'll write more later. Hope that helped |
