1 | What you are saved from? | John 6:37 | Amiga | 15339
Hello, Bill Mc, Sister D. and Steve, Just want to make a coment about 'once you saved, always saved'...A little story first: I dont know about all Catholics, but when I was a practicing catholic, and I commited a sin, I would just pray that God will let me make it to the next Sunday service,so I can confess my sin to the prist. I would recieved from him what was to be my penance for those sins, (wish usually was around 5 holy maries and 2 of the Lord's Prayer. The amount would be dependant on the severity of the sin.) After that I would go to my pew and recite my penance. By the time I was finished I was a happy camper. "Happy" until I did or said something stupid again, wish was not hard considering there were 9 sibbling living together in my house. This Catholic rites may sounds rediculous to those who cant relate to them. But they were my reality at the time. Until Christ saved ME from ME and MY SINS. If, after you have recieved the work of the cross, there is a posibility of hell for you, wish sin is going to be the one to do you in? Murder or gossip. They are both sin in the eyes of a Holy God. Right! We are not to be sin counscious, even though we can still sin. I cannot LOOSE my salvation because I didnt FIND my salvation. Christ found me. I was lost. Not HIM. He warn us not to think more highly of our self more than we out to. I am so glad my rightiousness is not dependant on me anymore!!!. That I can come boldly to the throne of grace and I WILL find mercy in the time of need. Glory to God! God Bless You. In His Grip, Amiga |

5 | Why did they act w/o Rome's permission? | Acts 7:58 | Amiga | 14793
Hi. I think that in dealings of the Jewish culture and religion, the Romans were glad to stay away from, unless it japardised their authority over the Jewish. Steven's murder was like icing on the cake to stimulate division among the new Christians........Also I think that Nicodemus was to scare of Jesus at this point to be part of any fullishness again His church....What do you think?
6 | Where did Jacob get the game? | Gen 27:7 | Amiga | 14786
Hello. In verse 9 of the same chapter, Rebekah,Isaac's wife, is telling Jacob what to do, and that she will prepare the game just as Isaac likes it.Jacob went down to the flock (on his own back yard) to bring "two choice kids of the goats"..................When I read about Essau I see that he wasn't very sharp. He's priorities were off. I think that is why it was easy for Jacob to supplant him. Twice he did; birthrights and blessing(Gen 27:36)
7 | Was the older brother acting correct? | Luke 15:28 | Amiga | 14094
Hello, Is my opinion, I say that the elder brother was wrong in how he reacted to his father's actions, but I also see that it was a normal reaction and at his level he was also "bind" to samething. As the elder brother, he probably would have never done what his younger brother did(V. 15:30)because he understood whow hard they have worked(father/older b.)to have what they had when the "ignorant" one dicided he wanted to go and waste his part. In verse 30 the older brother refers to his younger brother in anger as .."this SON of yours arrived"...and his father, in a loving way, when he rebukes him about his actittude said in V.32.."this BROTHER of yours was dead"....If I was to write a V.33 it would have said.."forgive me father, I must go and welcome MY BROTHER back"... To me, the story is about a awesome father and his love for his children. Even when we messup. Ch 15:1 and 2 show us how horribly judgmental we can be sometimes. I thank God we can repent when the Lord convict us. I thank God for His mercy.
8 | HOW DID THE ISRAELITES | 2 Kings | Amiga | 14092
Hello,...In 2 Kings, the history of two kindoms is traiced until they were conquered; Israel fell to Assyria and Judah to the Chaldeans. In both kindoms God continually warned them about the dangers of God's judgement if they didnt repent.Mainely, this was done thru Elijah and Elisha. Repentance was their way out of judgment, but it didnt happen, thought they diffied God's commands
9 | HOW DID GOD | 2 Kin 17:12 | Amiga | 14090
Hello..This quest. is a little unclear to the reader but I think I understand what's been asked.I feel that God's commands, as a whole, are designed to protect us.There are consecuences to every choice we make, wheather we are aware of them or not.The scriptures said...(Hosea 4:6.. "my people are distroy for lack of knowlege" Sometimes we forget to play satan in the ecuation of our choices, and I believed that to be what happen to the Israelites. At this point they were free from Egypt, and got confortable, and since they were not jet lead by the Spirit(NT Promese), they fell right in to idolatry. Today God tell us to be "vigilant", because our adversary, the devil, is watching....(paraphase). We all want to do right(saved and unsaved) but the problem is our reference point; our own opinoin about right or wrong. I thank God for his Word and His Spirit. |
