| To all who have endeavoured to answer my question concerning suicide. Thanks heaps. The question was raised by the youth group in my church and I gave them the answer I perceived to be correct in my heaat and within my understanding of Scripture. All you have done is verify my beliefs that we all interpret scripture according to our own understanding, but your naswesr have helped a lot. Thankyou. I know suicide is not the unpardonable sin and I can also live with the thought that there are many and varied opinions to this perplexing question. God is a loving and forgiving God, of this I am absolutely sure and I have no problem advising those going through the trauma of grief after loosing a loved one through suicide that if they believed with all their heart that Jesus is Lord, then He will welcome them into his home. I have known of pastors who have gone down this path and the subsequent pain and anguish their families went through is a tradegy, but we have to be loving and compassionate as my Lord's example reveals. Why God's creation, humankind, still continue to do this(suicide) will always remain a mystery to me because I know where my future is and I find it sad that some do not comprehend. |
