|1||Scripturally, can women be pastors?||Gal 3:28||fellowlaborer||218360|
|I was just reading the latest excerpts on the forum and when it comes to women serving in the ministry - I believe the address of II John 1:1 was addressing a female pastor. I don't know if her husband was a pastor and may be passed away and the position became hers. But, Apostle John did not mention a husband; sounds like a single parent. Look at the scriptures outlined in the discussion of "Women being silent" and hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying. Be blessed.|
|2||What about this teaching?||Eccl 3:21||fellowlaborer||191609|
|Praise the Lord Everybody. Thank God for His holy Word for His Word we can stand on. Just as most of us, we have opinions and I believe the Quaker historian Cadbury is entitled to his. Yet allow me to magnify the Lord -- God's Word is more than a book or a record. John 1:1,14 (and I'm just basking on the shore) In the beginnning was the Word and the Word was God and the Word is God... I will say the quotation noted with the question is not biblically sound. Matt 5:8 For heaven and earth shall pass away But God's Word shall Stand... God bless you - let's bless Him at all times.|
|3||Bride - Church or New Jerusalem?||Is 61:10||fellowlaborer||185975|
|Greetings Everyone. Thank you Cherie the scriptures and question you posed caused me to consider...
Isa 61:10 reveals a grateful soul that has been redeemed; being clothed in salvation; whereas, before decked in the garments of hell and destruction - now covered in the robe of righteusness... Hallelujah, it's beautiful and yet it seems of a different direction of the question you posed.
When I pondered your question regarding the Church, in reference - so many terms and phrases are used many times, lending variables that cause us to search out the scripture. To name some: "Zion" [Isa 51:16, 52:1, Heb 12:22, (relating to the Holy City) and more]; "Israel" [Mk 12:29; Matt 2:6, Rom 9:6(Hallelujah! We're included)]; "Kingdom of God" Luke 17:20-21 (referring to our Christ as well); and the Church being called the "Bride of Christ," for one, may stem from Eph 5:23-32 beautifully describing love reflected in the union of marriage; and there is scripture referring to our God as husbandman.
The Church - sometimes referred to lands/nations - geographical id; and some such as: "body of Christ," "sons of God," "children of God," - relational id. Thank you for the "digging excursion." It's okay, to refer to the church as the bride of Christ -- I don't think God would be moved much by semantics. Okaayyyy, I'll stop.
|4||boasting in oneself 3:27-31||Gal 2:16||fellowlaborer||161202|
|My Dear Y.R. the question you have asked is answered in the scriptures you identified. A reference scripture is Galations 2:16. When you learn of Him(Jesus) we learn that we can do nothing of ourselves - He is every breath we take and every move we make. So we do not boast in ourselves we boast in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in which we received by faith into our hearts and every Word - we receive by faith in Him. God is a jealous God and deserves all glory, honor and praise. Please if I have not answered your question, restate it and maybe others will give additional input. God bless you.|
|5||Did God create Life?||Gen 1:1||fellowlaborer||161197|
|Dear Abccan I will take time to answer this question. When you open your Bible to Genesis - which means beginning. And it reads vs 1"in the beginning..."; and, in Genesis 2:7 the breath of life is mentioned. In this book - Genesis we find most of creation on earth/ life on earth. If this does not answer your question please restate your question and maybe others will chime in. God bless you.|
|6||Can a wife divorce a husband for some re||Matt 19:1||fellowlaborer||160974|
|Dear Hana, every time I hear the word divorce my spirit cringes. This is a very sensitive matter; however, let's look at the Word of God. Malachi 2:16 tells us God hates divorce; and, we know Jesus in agreement with the Father yet He expounds a bit more on the subject. In Matt 5:32 "...but, I say..." and in Matt 19 and from verse 8 "...hardness of heart..." Now, to answer your question - "immorality" which I believe encompasses abuse would give some reasons. Yet, I always encourage the Believer to be led by the Spirit of God to be in line with His will - which is His Word.|
|My dear, I am thinking that the Host Ghost is the Holy Ghost. In that case I will start you in the book of Genesis chapter 1, to me versus 1 thru 3 shows the Triune Godhead; but, I will just direct you to verse 26 - let us and our image. I think the plural pronouns will help clarify. There are other scriptures; but, I will leave you with this. God bless you.|

|9||Some do not have enough money to buy.||Philippians||fellowlaborer||106676|
|Dearest Tess with anything good, there will be perversions and/or counterfeits. This is a time when Jesus - the reason for the season - is celebrated consciously or subconsciously. Because our Father is gracious in His giving; His word admonishes us to be willing and cheerful givers.
I know Christmas has been commercialized and it is easy to be entangled with the cares of this world; but to God be the glory, we know giving encompasses so much more than money could buy: when we make cards or gifts, bake goods, serve in various capacities (when it's done in love to share the love of the Lord there will be life inspiring blessings).
Like you have said "... magnifies human inequities," that reminds us to pray without ceasing. Our Father is counting on us to be examples and lights in this dark and sinful world - and since this is the time the church at large have chosen to celebrate Jesus's birth; let's have a great time and share the good news of His coming.
And with the words from Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are (paraphrasing)just, lovely, pure, things of virtue and praise, think on these things.

|Dearest Angellove, I bring you tidings of great joy. Rest in the Lord - be strengthened and comforted in His word, Psalm 37 and remember It's not by might, nor by power but by the spirit of the Lord (paraphrased Zech 4:6.|
