Yes. Luke 23:56 "And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. In this second verse the Greek word is sabbatismos, which is derived from the Hebrew shabbath. The new testament is full of examples of how Jesus and his apostles kept the Sabbath both before and after his death and resurrection. In fact all of the 10 commandments can be found in the new testament |

Daniel 7:24 (KJV 1900) 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. One of the keys to understanding Revelation is to understand Daniel. |

3 | No man having put hand to the plough is | Luke 17:20 | brrrilliantsteve | 235854 | ||
Luk 9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. A) Putting ones “hand to” is an action. In the context of Jesus second coming and in reference to the plough it denotes earthly works. B) Looking back – This is what Lot’s wife did. If you skip forward in Luke to chapter 17:20-33 you will find Jesus responding to the Pharisees about when the kingdom of God should come… Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Luk 17:24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Luk 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Luk 17:32 Remember Lot's wife. Luk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Going back briefly to the original story in Gen 19:16,17 While Lot, his wife and 2 daughters “lingered” in their house the two strangers took them by the hand and dragged them “without the city” and said “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.” Answer: Because of the speed of Gods return there will be no time to “look back” to the works of our hand. (Nor should we want to remain in this evil world). If one does “look back” you are effectively rejecting your salvation for worldly goods. On a side note: these references hardly sound secret, Sorry! |
