1 | another word for virulent or virus | Bible general Archive 3 | Bows44 | 160189
Hi Angel... Actually a Thesaurus is a better tool for synonyms than a dictionary. According to The New American Roget's College Thesaurus that I have: Virulent, adj. poisonous, venomous; deadly; toxic, noxious; malignant, malevolent; caustic, acrimonious. See badness, disease, resentment. virus, n. venom. poison, catagium, germ. microorganism. See disease. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

Hi basbudy, 1 John 5:14-15 tells us... 14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

4 | Why no Church services on Christmas? | Bible general Archive 3 | Bows44 | 159982
Hi Pbp, I can't speak for every church, but our church and most churches I know of always hold services on Sunday even when Christmas falls on that day. The only time we didn't have service was when the hurricanes blew through last year. :-( Usually we have a special "Happy Birthday Jesus" themed service. Many other churches I know have special dramas or Cantadas with Christmas themes. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

5 | Faith | James 1:2 | Bows44 | 159958
Hi NightJay, One must have faith in God, not one's own faith. Faith is trust, belief, a knowing that you know. For example, you need finances to pay your rent. You don't know how you are going to get it, but you know the Bible says God will take care of you and knows what your needs are, so you have faith in God that he will take care of you. That peace down in your spirit that tells you everything will work out o.k. proves you have faith. If you have fear, you don't have faith because you really aren't trusting God to take of you. This principle applies to everything in life. You have peace, are resting in the promises of God...you have faith. You are worried, afraid, can't sleep, etc....you do not have faith. As for moving a mountain or anything else...it doesn't always happen how we envision, so sometimes we don't recognize that it has happened. One person I know needed to have a part of a mountain moved so they could build a building in a certain place. They starting praying this promise about moving mountains and after a few months a road was putin, in that area and the section of mountain was removed. I would say that was an answer to this prayer/promise. The key is to keep your peace and let God lead you and answer your prayers and meet your needs his way. I recommend doing a word study on faith, so you can see how others in the Bible exercised faith and received from God. Then you can learn from those examples. Also, speak to fellow Christians who have faith for encouragement and further insight in how to walk in faith. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

6 | Should a woman pursue a man? | Gen 39:7 | Bows44 | 159558
Hi Soldier, Read the Book of Ruth. In chapter 3, Naomi instructs Ruth on how to catch a man...Boaz. This I think is a good example of a woman pursuing a man and it was considered wise. Ruth was successful, too as chapter 4 tells about their marriage. :-) Hope this helps, Bows44 |

Someone asked you before what your age is. Knowing this would help others in answering your questions. Does the 13 in your screen name stand for 13 years old? I won't get mad at you, but I don't know how to explain looking at someone's profile any clearer, so if you can't figure it out with this post, maybe you can just ask for the info you are looking for in a post. i.e. if you want my email to talk outside the forum it is kabuchitama@yahoo.com. 8 | Adultry | Judg 16:1 | Bows44 | 159109
Hi NightJay, To which scripture are you referring? In some scriptures it means actual in the natural prostitutes (i.e. Gen. 34:31, 38:15, Lev. 19:29, Joshua 2:1.) In others, it is referring to spiritual prostitution (i.e. Ex. 34:15, Lev. 20:6, Judges 8:27.) Adultery is not exactly the same as prostitution. Adultery is sex between a married man and a woman not his wife or a woman and a man not her husband. A person who looks at another with lust in his/her heart has already committed adultery in his/her heart. (Matt. 5:28) According to Webster's New World Dictionary prostitute: 1. to sell the services of (oneself or another) for the purposes of sexual intercourse 2. to sell (oneself, one's artistic or moral integrity, etc) for low or unworthy purposes adj [rare] given over to base purposes; debased; corrupt n 1. a woman who engages in promiscuious sexual activity for pay; whore; harlot b) a man who engages in such activity, esp. homosexual acts, for pay 2. a person, as a writer, artist, etc., who sells his or her services for low or unworthy purposes Pick a scripture that uses one of these terms and we can discuss what God is trying to say. Sincerely, Bows44 |

Elijah who out ran a chariot. 1 Kings 18:44-46 44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.' " 45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the LORD came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel. 13 | Are menstrual cloths disgusting to God?? | Is 64:6 | Bows44 | 159045
Hi Starfire, Just a few thoughts... 1. Life is in the blood, not blood brings forth life. (Lev. 17:11,14; Deut. 12:23) 2. God breathed life into man and he became a living soul. (Gen. 2:7) 3. The curse was multiplied pain in child birth, not child birth itself. God wants people to have babies and have dominion over the earth. (Gen. 3:16; Gen. 1:28) 4. The menstual blood is dead blood. It is what is shed from the uterus when a baby is not conceived. Therefore there is no longer any life in it. 5. Used menstrual cloths smell bad and you have to admit are disgusting. That is why we wrap them up and throw them in the trash. Conclusion: our righteousness is dead, has no life, smells bad, worthless and needs to be throw away. Therefore the comparison. God is not against the natural flow that he created. He is against us trying to earn our salvation. This graphic picture is used to make a point of how God sees our righteousness and to show us how much we need to trust in the righteousness of Jesus and the finished work of the cross for our salvation. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

14 | will god forgive anyone bout anything? | Mark 3:28 | Bows44 | 158985
Hi Lil Kea 13, The Bible says that if we will repent God is faithful and just to forgive us. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. So if the person repents, then God will forgive them. More importantly for you is that you forgive them, because the Bible also says that if we don't forgive others then God won't forgive us. Matt. 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. People mess up because they are people. No one is perfect. That is why it is important to show grace and mercy to others. The Bible also tells us that we reap what we sow. Sowing grace and mercy will guarantee that you receive grace and mercy. Grace and mercy are two things that we all need a lot of. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

15 | who made god? | John 4:24 | Bows44 | 158965

16 | who made god | Is 45:18 | Bows44 | 158961
For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other. If there is no other, then no one made God. Rev. 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." There was no one before God. I know this is hard to comprehend, but that is just the way it is. Since God can not lie,(Num. 23:19) then this statement must be true. Hope this helps clarify things. Bows44 |

17 | prophets for today | Eph 4:11 | Bows44 | 158949
Hi Greg, We know there are prophets today because the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gave some as prophets. Eph 4:11, 1 Cor 12:28 I Cor. 14:29-33 gives instruction on how to give a prophecy. I John 4:1 instructs us on what to do when we hear a prophecy. In Rev.19:10 it says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. There are many claiming to be prophets today. How do we know if they really are? Test the spirits. If what is prophesied: 1. lines up with scripture 2. exalts the name of Jesus 3. comes to pass 4. the first three are done consistantly over time, then one can conclude the person giving the prophecies is a prophet. I know of a few who meet the criteria, but there are many who do not. I know a lot of people who can prophecy (see Acts 2:17), but are not necessarily prophets. I John 4:1 can not be stressed enough. Test the spirits by comparing a prophecy against scripture. This is also important with what a teacher teaches. Even this that I am writing you should be tested against scripture by studying it for yourself. Hope this helps, Bows44 |

18 | Does God speak to us in dreams today? | Rev 22:18 | Bows44 | 158635
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (New American Standard Bible) 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Malachi 3:6 (New American Standard Bible) 6"For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. Job 33:14-18 (New American Standard Bible) 14"Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it. 15"In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds, 16Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction, 17That He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep man from pride; 18He keeps back his soul from the pit, And his life from passing over into Sheol. Joel 2:27-29 (New American Standard Bible) The Promise of the Spirit 28"It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. 29"Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. Acts 2:16-21 (New American Standard Bible) 16but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: (note: caps not mine) 17'(A)AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' God says, 'THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND; AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS, AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS; 18EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT And they shall prophesy. 19'AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BELOW, BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE. 20'THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF THE LORD SHALL COME. 21'AND IT SHALL BE THAT (B)EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.' Acts 2:39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." Conclusion: Since all scripture is to be used for teaching, etc. and God does not change, it is reasonable to conclude that since He spoke in dreams to many throughout the Bible, including the Apostle Paul, that He can and will speak to us today in dreams as well. Hope this helps, Bows44 |
