1 What nonsense is this? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 120135
Being new to this website I do not know how people normally word their questions and answeres. But I do know that in many of our churches if you do not speak christanise your lost in most of the conversations. This has always been a problem for me as we try really hard to get non churched people to come into to the church and run them away with the strange way we talk. In many cases these people thank we are talking down to them and that is terrible. So I guess in a nutshell what I'm tring to say is although these people may wish to seem super spiritual they are most probly hurting the cause of Christ. If you will look at all the gospels Jesus always spoke in lanuage people could understand easily. tgc
2 Thanks, and here's another question. Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121440
  Hello ripken8os,
The question you are asking is one I have heard many times and even ask myself. I think if people arehonest all of us have had this question so do not feel alone. First of all the answere to your question is faith. However I will not leave you there how does our faith grow by the Word of God. The first thing we have to establish is can we belive the bible. Of course you know we can but what proof is there. There is the arciological proof today arcilogist are using the bible to help them find where to dig and when they do dig they find just what the bible said would be there. Next there is the manuscripe eveidence there is more manuscript evidence foe the bible than any other work in ancient history. So with that we know the bible we have is the one God meansfor us to have. Ther are other proofs we could go into but I think this should satify to answere thispart of your question. The next thing to do iskeep a prayer journal of what you pray and how God answeres I think you will be suprised at how much He is commmunicating to you if you just take time to listen and a journal is a great way to do this. Stay in the Word pray and listen for God to answere just anote He normally answeres through His Word. I really hope this helps In Christ tgc
3 Purpose of Prayer? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121441
  HI Hank,
I belivethe answere to your question can be found in Matthew 6:9-13. As you most likely know this is what is referred to as the Lord's Prayer. I belive there are all the principles and purposes of prayer revealed here. Fist of all we acknowledge who we are praying to andthe fact we only want His will not nessacarily our own. Next we look foward to His coming while asking to make difference for Him in our world today. So first we worship. Next we bring our request and acknowlege our dependency on Him. Then we ask for forgiveness and the strengh to forgive. Next divine protection Then we acknowledge from where our Hope comes and the Majasty of God and HIs kingdom. Also we see in the Psalms that David basically carried on conversations with God so should we rememebering that prayer is a two way conversation not just us bombarding God. But the bottom line to all of this is that it is the way we build our relationship with God. If we do not have communication with someone how can there be any relationship. For example if I neber carry on a conversation with my son how will I know him and he know me. Prayers main purposes are to build a relationship between us and God and to teach us to trust Him. Your Friend in Christ tgc
4 How do you define cult? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121570
  greetings bstudent,
There are a few different ways to define a cult. It depends on whether you are speaking in socoicological terms or religous terms. I would assume your question comes from Hanks question to Miss JW.. In the religous sense a cult would be defined as any group that teaches something other than biblical Christanity while still trying to use Jesus's name.. In the case of JWs deny the dieity of Jesus Christ they deny that hell is a real place, they believe that only 144,000 people will go to Heaven and those from the Heavenly class of the JWs withch Ielive they sy ended in 1935. These are some examples of why a group would be called a cult. A wonderful book on this subject is THE KINGDOM OF THE CULTS by Walter Martin there are currently two editions avaible one edit by Hank Henegraft and one edited by Ravi Zacharis. hope this helps tgc
5 why is book of numbers in bible Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121593
  Dear godnded,
The Book of Numbers is a historical narritive in one sense in another sense it shows us God's faithfullness in the face of the failure of His people. The lesson we learn from this is how God rewards faithfullness andeven though He must punish sin He livesup to His Word. I really hope this he;ps Yours In Christ, tgc

7 Why is the devil released after 1,000 yr Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121990
Hello, Liveright, I will try to answere at least of two of these. During the Millenium it is belived my many that there will be two kinds of people on Earth during this time. One is the belivers who have come with Christ to set up His earthly Kingdom. The other will be normal mortal people who will only have in this world under Christ direct rule. These people will be tempted by Satan when he is released for the short time. As for the second part of your question after much pondering and research the only answere that comes up is that part of God's perfect plan includes Satan not being cast into the lake of fire until the appointed time. I have seen many opions on this but as far as I can tell scripture is silent on this question. As far as pets are concerned I have no ideal except they will be left behind and at that point we will not be concerned with them we will be to busy worshipping Jesus at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb. Hope this helps. In the Love of Christ, tgc
8 Is Crucifixion by Christians Biblical? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 121994
Hello prazn, No it is not biblical for one christan to try to break another one. This would have nothing to do with the process of santification. Sanctification is not the place of man it is the work of the Holy Spirit. Many times there is a temorary pain connected with the process of santification it is not the place of people to inflict this. The pain I am speaking of could be termed growing pains. A great scriptural reference for this question would the the whole book of James. Also refernce 1 Cor. 1:30 1 Thess 4:3 2 Thess 2:13.
Futher I would refer you to www.equp.org where you can pull down CRI prospectives on many different subjects including sanctification. I really hope this helps. In The Love of Christ, tgc
9 is civil wedding has blessing from God Bible general Archive 2 tgc 124109
rvl, God bless the commitment to the marriage not the ceramony. The reason for the ceramony is to make public the total lifelong committment you have both entered into.. Your vows are seen by God in a civil ceramony just as clearly as He sees the vows made in a church. Just remember God sees the heart and knows the heart. His blessing comes from our following His word and walking in His will. Hope this helps. In The Love Of Christ, tgc

11 Jehovah's Witness Question Bible general Archive 2 tgc 124757
JW's are a cult in every sense of the word. To name a few of the problems they deny the diety of Jesus Christ they deny the doctrin of the Trinity they deny the reality of a real place called Hell also the doctrin of eternal punishment for nonbelivers they claim only a select few are going to Heaven the rest are to stay here on Earth. they rank as an organizations as probly number one on the list of false prophets. My friend you are exactly the kind of person the JW's target a new christan not yet completely founded in your beliefs. Stay away from this kind of influence in your life right now and do not let them lead you in there doctrins of lies and half truths. May God Bless and Hold you. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
12 Purity in concerns with being raped Bible general Archive 2 tgc 124970
Patts, I am very sorry about what you have been through, however I am very happy to hear you have come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. As far as purity in connection to what has happened to you No God does not consider you unpure. Also remember this that when you came to Christ He made you a new creature a gave you a new life the past is gone and God remembers it no more. Try sapeaking with your pastor about his matter he can most likely help you in one of several ways, either direct counceling or recommending a good biblical councelor who can personally help you through this with the scriptures. 15 What Is The Meaning Of Life? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 125934
The meaning to life is to bring praise and worship and glory to God. Country Girl has made an excellent reply, you should by all means follow up on the study suggested. I heard David Jeremiah bring an excellent message on these passages at the Worldview Weekend when that event took place in Memphis this past winter and it drove me to do this study myself and to preach on it later. Another resource you will want to checkout is Rick Warren's book The Purpose Driven Life. Hope this Helps. In The Love OF Christ, tgc

  New Creature, ok I'll bite.
1. Faith
2. conviction
3. repentance
4. salvation
5. regeneration
Salvation and regeneration are so close I assume regeneration here to be an ongoing process I would normally refer to as sanctification. However another way to see this is that after one comes to the point of repentance and accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior He then regenerates the heart. This should be an interesrting post to follow. In The Love Of Christ, tgc

18 Doing it the right way. Bible general Archive 2 tgc 128089
epbfaith, Get alone with God and listen to Him.Many times we are so carried away with the fact of having an opportunity to teach that we forget to stop ask God what to teach. Get alone in a quiet place with an open Bible and a heart of prayer and seek to Face of God, remember be open to HIm not tring to go in your own direction.
Let me share a short story with you. I was ask to preach a funeral for a missionary who died on thefield while in Aferica so I had about 10 days in which to prepare however as hard as I tried I could not get a message together for the funeral. Finial 2 days before the funeral with all the family in town I was called to the home where I tried to comfort family members but more importantly I was given her journal to read. That night I could not sleep so about mid-night I got up and went to my desk with an open Bible and prayerful heart finally about 4:30 am I went back to bed with the message done. What came out of that nights work was God's message not Tom's. I wish I could say that I gave a great presentation bvut I did not it was actually lousy, but God used His message and souls came to Christ not through me but by Him. The point is I finally quit tring in my own strength and let God. So all the glory and all the honor were His as it should be. So get alone in a quite place clear your mind get into God's Word and ask Him to speak to you. Speak Lord for your servent is listening. I hope this helps. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
19 faith Bible general Archive 2 tgc 128577
mikec, As for your beliefs that is something you must workout for yourself, however as far as prayer let me offer this in hopes it will help. First what is prayer? It is one on one communication with The Creator of the world The Lord God Almighty. Prayer is how we build our relationship with God it is how we get to know Him better. Your prayer should come from your heart nowhere in scripture are we given a formula of a certain prayer we shuld always pray although we are ginen a model prayer in Mat.6:8-13 commonly known as The Lord's prayer here certain principels of prayer are laid down. 1. To acknowledge to whom we pray. 2. To pray for God's will in every aspect of our lives. 3. To rely on God for all of our daily needs. 4. To pray for His forgivness of our sin to to give us a forgiving heart. 5.Pray for God's guidence in our lives. 6. Glorify God. Other things that can be included are intercession for others.
Prayer should come from the heart it should be a time of open your heart to God and listen for his response by p-raying with an open Bible and studying it daily to beeter know Our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ. A great book on this subject is The Prayer of Jesus by Hank Hanegraaff, this is a short book that is easy to read and understand. Hope this has been helpful. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
20 2 classes of people, 1000 year reign? Bible general Archive 2 tgc 141357
The answer to your question is going to depend on the view of end times prophecies that the person answering holds. There are severel different views on this subject the most popular and the one that put forth this ideal is based on a dispensational view point that is that God deals with the church and Isreal as two distinctly different groups of people and through this view the whole ideal of a pre tribulation rapture springs. Mind you I am not saying this wrong but there are other widely accepted views of the matter as well. I personally have been looking at these issues for about the last 3 years and still have not come to firm conclusion on the matter but just fyi know that there are severel acceptable view points on this question and that this is a secondary issue one which we can discuss vigorously but need not divide over.
There are some extremly good books out on thi issue from every side of this argument you might do a search on Christanbook.com , or tey equip.org as just a couple of examples. I really hopr this helps.
In The Love Of Christ, Tom
