	Hi There are many translations of the Bible today. I would go to the library and look over the different translation then choose the one that speaks to you the most. I like the NKJ version. My family emjoys the NIV. To get full meaning, stay away from condense versions. One might also have several versions to compare and get a fuller meaning. For church denominations, Please stick with the one whose teachings are based on the word and teaches from the Bible. Hope this helps Seedling

	The Bible is God's word and one should abide by what it says, the old as well as the new. The Rabbi is Jewish and does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah and goes by the old testament only. The mormon has a different Bible altogether. The Baptist goes by the old and new testament. I find it helpful to study the whole word of God, and go to a non-denominational church that preaches on the Bible. Also it is very extremely helpful to ask God himself for enlightment and the truth of what one is reading!

I personnally like the New King James. My family likes The NIV. The meaning is the same but in different words. For a good study of a particular verse read several translations, and ask questions on this forum! Hallowed be thy name... means God's name should be set apart from others. Psalms 34:3 Thy kingdom come... His kingdom comes to earth. Rev 21:1-3 Right now in people's hearts for those who ask HIM in..Rev 3:19-20 Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven... 	No,God won't give up if a person backslides more than once! God is like a loving parent who does not give up on HIS kids even when they are being brats. God is ready to forgive backsliders. But we as His children we need to confess our sins to God 1 John 1:9. We need to try and not do that sin again. Remember Peter his disciple denied the Lord 3 times and then asked forgiveness and God forgave him Mark 14:66-72 Matthew 26:60-75. There is just one unforgivable sin in the Bible which is the blasphemy of the Holy spirit. Matthew 12:31-32. Please read Jeremiah 3:12-14,and 22. As far as being cut off, the only thing I know of is the unforgivable sin,does anyone else have any biblcal verses on this? Seedling

	The theif in the cross went to heaven and he wasn't baptized but at hhiis last moments believe who Jesus was. Luke 23::39-43. Let the little children come unto me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:14 Mark 10:14-15 God loves little children! Titus 2:11 says that HE brings his salvation to ALL man. How I do not know but HE does. Baptism is for when a person accepts Jesus in his heart. Then that person should go to get baptized. Acts 2:38... Mark 16:16 says That he who believes and is baptized will be saved. He who DOES NOT BELIEVE will be condemned. 	Hi This is Seedling again. With using the verse Mark 16:16 I was pointing out that salvation does not rest upon baptism but on one's belief in God and his son Jesus. Baptism is important as it is a public confession of one's belief. Jesus was also baptized Mattthew 3:13-17. Remember Titus 2:11 God brings the news of salvation to all, even little babies. 	Sometimes when things goes wrong in a person's life, God is calling that person for a closer relationship with HIM. You said you live a christain life and brought him up in a church. Does he have Christ in his heart? That is the first step. My friend is in prison for many years because of a mistake. Now he has lead others to Christ, has a believing cell mate and his faith is stronger. There is a christain organization that helps prisoners and their families and friends. It is called Prison Fellowship. The director is chuck Colsen who went to prison for his involvment with Watergate. He found the Lord in prison. 	Hi Momma2, Sometimes children are born with birth defects and some are not. The Lord knows. HE creates us for HIS purposes. Moses thought he was slow and not eloquent in speaking. But God spoke thru him to Pharoah. Exodus 4:10. Verse 11 say that God makes the mute and the blind. Probably for his special purpose! HE knows us and forms us in the womb...Jermiah 1:5 and Isaiah 49:1 and Isaiah 64:8. The Lord knows about this child. I have worked with children with special needs. I've learned a lot from them. 	The NKJV says that God sent a distressing spirit to Saul. There is a verse says that God is the father of spirits. He created everything John 1:3. That includes evil. HE does this to show HIS power and to show people that He is in controll. Look at the story of Pharoah and Moses. That spirit was sent to Saul probably because Saul angered God and God wanted his attention for repentance.

	Hi, I am glad you are asking about reading the bible. The New Testament is good to start with, and then I would read The Old Testament.Some days are do not get much out of the reading so I go and flip thru the Psalms or proverbs. What I find helpfull is to read a chapter or few each day. Before the reading ask for God's understanding of the verses - James 1:5! Also I stress that memorization of verses are important because there are times when one need the word of God and do not have the bible readily available. Seedling

	Ray, The ending quotation mark is in verse 12. If you include verse 12, then it would be the Lord speakinng. The qoutation marks do make it hard to follow. So,I used the NASB version along side which made it easier. Does anyone know how The Hebrew or Greek version put the verses Jeremiah 6:11-12? Seedling
