2 Study members bored with Bible geneology 2 Tim 3:16 Chusarcik 169320
Members in my study group don't like to read geneology accounts such as the one given in Genesis 46 because the names are hard to pronounce and they feel the information is irelevent. Can anyone give a short answer I can share with the group on why this information is so important?
3 why did Joseph back up cup divination? Gen 44:5 Chusarcik 168668
Why then did Joseph act so annoyed about the cup in verse 14. He seemed with his annoyance to confirm the statement in verse 5 that he used the cup to divine?
4 Joseph practices divination? Gen 44:5 Chusarcik 168664
How is it that Joseph, a man of God, would practice divination, an art that was forbidden for God's people? (Genesis 44:5 and 14)
5 is the typeology correct? Bible general Archive 3 Chusarcik 165437
On word4life.com, I read that the cup bearer and baker in Genesis fourty are pictures of Christ.Jesus said He was the bread of life (John 6:35). He said He was the vine branch (John 15:1). On the night of his betrayal, he gave them wine, telling them it represented his blood that was going to be shed for you (Luke 22:20) and the bread that was going to be broken (I Corinthians 11:24). He asked them to do this in remembrance of Him. As we saw that in three days the wine taster would be given life and the baker would have his life taken. We see that picture of how Jesus would die and on the third day He would rise again.
Is the above typeology accurate?

6 Any Bible verses to back up the answer? Rev 22:18 Chusarcik 158643

8 Do animals go to heaven? Gen 1:26 Chusarcik 149443
Ecclesiastes 3:21 says, "Who knows if the spirit of man rised upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?"

Does this mean animals do not go to heaven?

11 found another opinion which may be wrong Joshua Chusarcik 145444
According to some, the number 13 represents bad things, rebellion, etc.(see reference below) If you count 1. If you count 14 including Manasseh and Ephraim and remove Dan as some seem to belive wouldn't that make the total number13 which is bad? (This isn't meant as an argument, I'm just exploring all the opinions to try to arrive at the truth) THIRTEEN: An ill omen, hostility, rebellion, apostasy, defection, corruption. CHusarcik

13 is the 6th prime number.
Judas was the thirteenth at the head table at the Passover feast. (which is why 13 is considered to be an unlucky number).
Ishmael, the illegitimate son of Abraham was 13 years old when he was circumcised.
Leaven is a sign for sin. The gematria for leaven, zumee in Hebrew is 13.
The Virgin Mary often appears on the 13th day of the month. This number obviously has no power over her. Remember it was prophesied that she would crush the head of the serpent. reference -http://www.agapebiblestudy.com/Reference/Gematria.htm
12 Doesn't your answer make it 13 tribes? Joshua Chusarcik 145443
Angel, So you believe there are 13 tribes? Wouldn't that mess up other indications in the Bible that there are only 12 tribes?
13 Doesn't that make it 14 tribes not 12? Joshua Chusarcik 145413
Then would it be correct to say there are 12 main tribes and 2 sub tribes (Ephraim and Manassah) Chusarcik
14 Clarify? Gen 48:5 Chusarcik 145412
The tribe of Levi was omitted from fighting wars but were still one of the 12 tribes? IF they belonged to the Lord, why would that make them exempt from inheriting the promised land?

Wouldn't there be 14 tribes total including Ephraim and Manasseh?

15 Conflicting info on the real 12 tribes Gen 48:5 Chusarcik 145406
Regarding the 12 tribes of Israel, another source I looked at omitted the tribes of Levi and Jospeh. This is where I received the information:

Reference:http://members.aol.com/Wisdomway/twelvetribes.htm

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm confused as to which of the 14 tribes listed in Genesis are the real 12 tribes. Chusarcik
16 What are the real 12 tribes of Israel? Joshua Chusarcik 145410
Looking at previous form posts concerning the 12 tribes of Israel, it looks as though the tribes of Dan and Reuben did some evil things and were replaced with the tribes of Ephraim and Manassah. Am I understanding this correctly? Is it correct that the evil act of Dan was idolatry? What did Reuben do to get excluded if this is correct? Chusarcik
17 Why is history repeated in Genesis? Bible general Archive 2 Chusarcik 143429
Stories with the same themes are repeated many times in the Bible, but with different characters. Some examples in Genesis are the cases of 3 different barren wives, Sarah, Rebekah and Rachel. Also sibling rivalry between a good and evil brother, Cane and Abel, Isaac and Ishmael, Jacob and Esau. Another example is patriarchs passing their wives off as sisters when passing through a pagan town. What is the purpose of the repeated stories with different characters?
18 None are left? Genesis Chusarcik 142385
Thank you so much for this information. So it looks like all of Esau's descendents are gone? Just confirming I understood your answer Chusarcik
