301 | The creation and the Gap | Genesis | srbaegon | 48557
Hello TKO Darby's translation -- In those days were the giants on the earth, and also afterwards, when the sons of God had come in to the daughters of men, and they had borne [children] to them; these were the heroes, who of old were men of renown. The grammar of the sentence indicates the giants were a result of the union, not a precedent to the union. Steve |

302 | facts about genesis ? | Genesis | srbaegon | 55909
Hello Treadway "If not two versions, then at the very least, it’s a rather awkward way to present one story" Only if we try to read it as contemporary Western literature. As Genesis is read, there is a recurring pattern of Summary-Detail-Summary-Detail-etc. Contemporary Western culture does just the opposite (D-S-D-S). Gen 1:1 gives an opening summary statement followed by the detail of the statement (actually going through Gen 2:3). Gen 2:4 then circles back to give increasing detail of the sixth day. It takes a little adjustment, but it's not insurmountable. Steve |

303 | Why didn't God make people to love him? | Genesis | srbaegon | 63995
Hello again I'm a Sunday School teacher for ages 11-13, and they come up with the most challenging questions. I love it! Steve |

304 | Why didn't God make people to love him? | Genesis | srbaegon | 64060
Hello Hank Amen! When I read in Hosea of God's anguish for His people, it causes me to marvel that I could cause Him that pain. As the song goes: O, how He loves you and me. Steve |

305 | Explanation of Genesis 6:1-6 | Genesis | srbaegon | 127572
Hello tgc, This has been discussed many times before. You can search the links under Gen 6:4. In short, Christ said the angels in heaven do not marry or given in mariage. That leaves room for discussion of fallen angels. And not really a new creation, but a mixed creation. The passage says they were mighty men of renown, so they were greater in some capacity than ordinary men. However, they would still have inherited sin being of the human race. Steve |

306 | Dinosaurs (Life before Adam and Eve) | Genesis | srbaegon | 135159
Hello JRM, I think you misread the user's post. It said that Noah DID take dinosaurs on the ark. Steve |

307 | Why did God test Adam and Eve ? | Genesis | srbaegon | 153648
Hello Swerv, The laws NT Christians are required to obey are in the legal systems of the countries, states, counties, and cities of residence. If you want a 7th day Sabbath so badly, petition your legislator to change calendars in the U.S. to begin on Monday and end on Sunday. Problem solved. Steve |

308 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161660
Hello God's Ambassage, I went to your website. Basically, you have plagiarized the work of E.W. Bullinger. If you wish to be taken seriously, you need to reference your material and/or add thoughts of your own. Steve |
||||||
309 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161663
Hello Gods Ambassage, Mr. Bullinger's name is not mentioned on your site, and the information you give is misleading. It causes one to believe that the work is original and only influenced by others. However, you give terms and ideas that are simply restatements of Bullinger. These need to be properly referenced. That is simply proper writing. Steve |

What do you mean by "scripter?" Steve |
||||||
311 | what fruit did eve eat? | Genesis | srbaegon | 161667
Hello Gods Ambassage, No, it was not helpful. Your response was based on allegory rather than an historical-grammatical interpretation of the passage. Within the context of the passage, Eve plucked fruit from an actual tree and ate it. Steve |

312 | "sons of God saw daughters of men?" | Genesis | srbaegon | 203327
Hello williamrobinsonb, You said: "the answer is no the bible is making reference to the fallen ones who being controlled by Satan mingled there seed with mans seed as they took wives of the children of Adam and the curse passes by the blood." Here we have a problem. The curse did not originate with the sons of God taking wives from the daughters of men, as you intimate. The curse entered the world at the fall Rom 5:12, 18-19 (ESV): Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. . . . [18] Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. [19] For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous. Paul demonstrates that Christ reversed the effects of sin brought in when Adam disobeyed in the garden (Gen. 3). Steve |

313 | "sons of God saw daughters of men?" | Genesis | srbaegon | 203335
Hello, You present more problems. If the contamination entered in Gen 6, then it was found in Noah and his sons. All mankind has the condemnation. That being the case, the commandment of God to destroy the Canaanites cannot be because of this contamination. It had to be for a sin nature common to all men which they had wallowed in. As an aside, God allowed taking Gentile wives from those enemies they defeated (Deut 21:10-14). Steve |

314 | Leave possesions to realize GOD | Genesis | srbaegon | 215112
Hello Mike, True enough. I just wanted to stay within the scope of the original question. As C.H. Spurgeon used to preach it--salvation is all of grace. The work of atonement is complete by the shedding of the Lord Jesus' precious blood which covers and removes all sin. There is no more work to be done. Steve |

315 | Bible and evolution both? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 19542
Hello Steve and welcome, As you may have discovered, we who take a literal approach to Genesis 1 and 2 can be rabid. Earnestly contending for the faith, you understand. I hope we have applied more light than heat to this topic. BTW, someone must have known you have would turn out to be a wonderful person to give you such a great first name. :-) Steve |

316 | Earth was without form, and void. | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 19956
I respect and prize Mr. Scofield's work but must disagree with him in this regard. Ez 28:12-15 seems to indicate that Satan was still in his perfection after creation was completed (see esp. verse 13). Steve |

317 | Two Creation Stories? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 41884
Hello Serenetime You've made observations without giving an answer. Do you see two creation accounts, or do you see one creation account described two different ways? Steve |

318 | Remember the Sabbath; when? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 89981
Hello popdzl You are indeed splitting hairs--even to the nth degree. Your attempted differentiation between commandment and law does not exist. Paul states in Romans 7:7b (ESV) I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, "You shall not covet." Is the apostle confused as to proper terminology? I think not. Steve |

319 | justme | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 126535
Hello justme, The Lord's goodness is astounding! Rest in His grace. Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" Steve |

320 | Did God create Life? | Gen 1:1 | srbaegon | 161225
Hello abccan, John 1:4 (ESV) In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 14:6a (ESV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life." These verses show that the Lord Jesus is both the source and essence of life. If we were to look further, we could show that Jesus is God, thus demonstrating that God is life. It is one of his essential attributes. God and life cannot exist without each other. Consequent to this, life cannot exist without a life form. Steve |
