61 | Why are we accused of blaming God? | Rom 9:21 | miller521 | 194034
Acts 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God [to be] the Judge of quick and dead. 2 Ti 4:1 I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Jesus Christ has been made the Judge, not the Father. So if someone is being 'judged' and deemed that they need cancer, its Jesus putting that on them in that theory. However that is a theory, because it says there the judgement will be at His appearing. |

62 | Why are we accused of blaming God? | Rom 9:21 | miller521 | 194033
Well, what I am asking, is if he gave them a choice, how could he have been in full control of what they choose? If I give you a choice on two things, I'm not in full control of what you pick am I? Its still up to you, correct? I am not saying God will only be glorified when you are healed, God gets glory when we stand on his Word, and if you are standing on the promise in 2 Peter 2:24 that you were healed by the stripes of Jesus, then God can be glorified. I'm simply saying, we need to put the blame where its due, and not jump to the conclusion that God is being evil in our lives. |

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: If God was in full control, why did he give them a choice? I beleive the problem arises when we attribute eveything in our life to God, well I got cancer, tmust be God... ( However people want to stand against him and take medicine for the cancer, foolish if you beleive God wants you to be sick ) Well my car broke down, must be God teaching me something... People want to deny that there is a devil in this earth, and that he is the one who steals kills and destroys ( John 10:10) However, give God the glory when you were attacked with Cancer and he healed your body, thats when he will get the glory. |

64 | God allowing things in our lives | 2 Tim 3:16 | miller521 | 194021
Yes, Christ did allow the pain of the cross to come upon himself. Matt. 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? Phl 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. God allowed his Son to suffer, because as John 3:16 says He loved the world that much. But the key word here is allow, Jesus had the power to lay down his own life, and to take it up again. John 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. Right there Jesus says that he lays down his life, he says nothing about the Father laying it down, he points out that he is in control. So no, it puts nothing to rest. The plagues would never have come on Egypt had Pharoah been obedient. But Pharoah, like many people today, blame God for the plagues, instead of realizing, God had already sent his Word, he said this would happen if you listen to me, this would happen if you dont, now you get to chose. Just like this passage Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: God even goes so far as to tell them what they should choose, but not all did, and even today, not all do chose to live in his blessing. Lets put it this way, we are the express image of God on this earth, and we are suppose to conform ourselves to the image of Jesus Christ, we are to take on his character and live upon this earth untill he returns for us. If I were to explain to my child why they are not to do a certain thing, such as play out in the street, and they know what I've said, yet they sneak out of my house as a teenager and play in the street and get hit by a car.... am I responsible? Was it me setting them up to get hurt... or would they have been better off to have been obedient? Kind of puts a rest to it now doesn't it? God Bless! |

I also recognize his sovernighty, but being soverign does not mean you have to be killing, stealing and destroying, in other words, to be soverign does not mean you have to be a thief. Romans 8:28 is a great example of what I am saying. Everything can work towards our good, no matter what it is. Even a family member dying unsaved and going to hell, thats part of all things isn't it? Do you think that means God made sure that person went to hell in order for it to work for your good... or is it possible they are to blame for not accepting Jesus Christ and ending up in that horrible place? I chose to believe the Bible when it says He is willing that none should perish, but that all should come to repentence. Phil 2:13 is also another great scripture, he works in us both to will and do his good pleasure, can you give me a scripture where God's pleasure is to see his children in pain? I am not saying that suffering doesn't come, I am simply saying that God does not use it in order to correct us, or as so many try to say, teach us a lesson. I am simply saying that when it does come, God can use it to strengthen and prove us, and make us stronger. But ultimately, he wants to work in us to see that those challenges are removed. And finally I am saying that his Word is perfect. It will work for any and all occasions. Its why Christians should be the marriage counselors, its why Christians should be the doctors, we should be the ones working at the city missions, because the Word is a road map that can handle every situation that arises in our lives. Its sufficient, there is no need for any other instruction, the Word and the Holy Ghost will lead us into all truth. |

I am sorry, I took for granted my own knowledge, I assumed everyone knew that the book of Exodus contained the story of Pharoah I was talking about. I'm sorry that I assumed you knew that. Forgive me brother, I'll try to make sure I note every scripture.
67 | God allowing things in our lives | 2 Tim 3:16 | miller521 | 193990
So you can die in sin and still recieve eternal life? What if they had died while comitting adultery, or comitting murder? If I were to run out and comitt murder, do you believe there is a chance God would kill me and bring me into heaven with him? Ok and for your first reference, would the man have died, had he obeyed God? I am simply trying to point out, that God said you will die if you touch this in a certain way. When it was touched and the man died, that was simply God's Word coming to pass. Just like God telling us that if we die a sinner, we will end up in Hell, that is our choice to make, God doesn't make that choice for us. They had the choice to obey God and live, or disobey him and die. It wasn't that God wanted it to happen, but it did. But where does the scriptures show us how God corrects us? Through being a thief? Or do we believe the Word that says in 2 Tim 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: The Word is used to correct us. |

Thanks for the response BrakK. I can't possibly show less emotion when I talk about God's Word, I'm very passionate about it. I And two I am biblically sound. I have quoted John 10:10 which tells us what a thief does. And some claim God does the work of a thief, I want to hear how they justify that. |

God is soverign, does being soverign mean you will kill if you feel like it? Just because our God is soverign doesn't mean he doesn't abide by his own word. If God at times kills and destorys, then we can easily say that at times he's a thief. Read John 10:10..... if you ever say God does those things, then you must also say at times he's a Thief, which would put him in violation of his own commandments wouldn't it? |

We are told what Satan was thinking....'Have you considered my Servant Job' Do you think God didn't know something? Thats absurd to think he had no clue what the answer to that question was. God allowed the trial on Job, he had to, God himself said all power was given to Satan, Job wasn't perfected in Love was he? He had fear, and through fear, death will come. Don't blame my father for the fear that Job had. |

God can get the glory for sickness and death, indeed when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, God was glorified, he wasn't glorified in the death, but in the resurrection. Sometimes, more often then should be actually, people do not turn to God untill something tragic in their life happens. There is still no way to say that God wasn't there all along wanting to make sure that tragedy never struck them. Do you think God created Adam in the garden with the intent on killing him with cancer? And remember, just because someone dies of a sickness, doesn't mean it wasn't God's will to see them fully healed. If we use that arguement, then wouldn't we have to say that because someone died unsaved and went to hell, that it wasn't God's will to see them saved. Lets stop blaming God for the problems in this world, and put the blame where it goes, on the devil and us. God is soverign, he has already given us his Word, lets just read it, believe it, and live by it. Why does he have to do more than give us his Word to teach us, is the Word not good enough? |

Had Pharoah listened to God and let the children out of Egypt, there would have been no plagues would there? Why do you blame God when all Pharoah had to do was be obedient? How can you not just as easily say that through disobedience to the Word of God, which is sin, that the troubles came? Its much easier to blame God, then ourselves isn't it? I am sorry to hear that your father has had this sickness put upon him by the devil. What does John 10:10 say? Who is the one that comes to kill steal and destroy? My point is still very very valid. If God wants someone sick, you have no right to try to make it easier on them, or make them feel better. Do you think you will someday ask God to allow you to go into Hell, and give water to those who are being tormented? |

John, If you have children, would you teach them a lesson by killing them? And exactly, how does that teach them a lesson? They are dead... and if they did not have a relationship with Christ, they are in Hell...... How in this world can you even say that Ananias and Sapphira being struck dead was to teach them a lesson. And even for that matter, if it were to teach us a lesson, shouldn't we all be the the smartest on this earth by now with all the death in this world? |

75 | What is he repenting for? | 2 Tim 3:16 | miller521 | 193889

That's a good scripture, it shows us that even when evil comes, God will make sure it turns out for our good. However, it doesn't even imply it comes from him. The Scriptures tell us that Every good and perfect gift come down from the Father, with whom there is no variableness neither shadow of turning. If I were to send nothing but good on one of my children, and evil on another... would be a lie to say that there is no variabless in how I treat them.... |

Its also interesting to point out the conversation God has with Satan, he asks Satan if he has considered his servant Job, if you realize God knows the hearts and intentions of us all. He knew the answer to that, it wasn't God saying, Go mess with Job, it was God bringing to the forefront what he knew was in Satan's heart. God said it was in Satan's power, thats a statement of fact, not God saying, Go hurt my boy down there.
78 | God allowing things in our lives | 2 Tim 3:16 | miller521 | 193881
Doc, what I am simply saying, is that God might use the challenge to help us grow, but John 10:10 says that the Thief came to kill steal and destroy, (talking of Satan) so unless Satan at times does God's work, then how do we call God a destroyer? Also, I have never met anyone who truely believes God does things such as gives cancer to teach a lesson, I've yet to ever meet anyone who says they believe that, and live it. Here is the proof. If you are to believe God sends cancer to teach a lesson, then who are you to ever go to a doctor, take any medicine, or allow doctors to help someone get 'cured' from something God says they should have. If you ever believe God at times sends sickness and harsh times on people, then you should be an outright advocate of shutting down hospitals, making sure nobody can get loans to keep their business afloat etc etc. But like I said, I've never seen anyone live what they preach when they claim God is responsible for hardships in their life. They all support doctors, even though by their theological idea, those doctors might be in direct opposition to God by curing someone that God wants sick. I'd never want to work against God, would you? |

I understand that God can use trials and challenges in our life to make us stronger. However, I was saying that they do not originate with him. He doesn't just say Ok I need to teach this guy a lesson, since my Word isn't good enough, I'll give him cancer, he'll learn from that. |

I'd also walk outside your home on Halloween and see all the people dressed up, and wonder why so many in this 'Christian' nation are influenced by demons to the point they dress up like them. Demonic posession doesn't have to be Hollywood type stuff.
