943 | SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH | 2 Tim 2:25 | lionheart | 155965
Hey Doc, Greetings my brother.I thought I'd share a few things here as I've spent the last hour or so going over some of the same things with a close friend. This is an issue that can be very emotionally charged.I will not deny ones experience,however we gotta make sure that what we experience,what we are seeing falls within confines of Gods Word. We have a habit of focusing on one thing and we wind up getting spanked. Heb 3:13, 5:12-14 God wants us strong,He wants us mature. We have to be willing when we see something in our daily lives that may or may not fall into the paremeters of The Word to do what ever it takes to be in line with Gods Word.If that means we gotta change our beleiving to get in line with Gods Word then so be it. Love ya brother, lionheart. |

Dear sister, My way,Kalos way, anyone elses way amounts to less than nothing if doesnt line up with what Gods Word says.Amen salvation is whats important,Christ being preached vital! However how will one know whats being shared with them if they have no roots in Gods Word.Feelings and ones experience are no gaurantee for truth.The only truth we have that we can count on every time is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:15,16,17, Acts 17:11 These are cornerstone verses,especially when we share our faith. In Christ, lionheart |

Kalos, Well said my brother. 2 Peter 1:20,21 makes the last part of your posting quite clear.God will give us plenty of insight but will not go beyond or contradict what He has already revealed in His Word.It's imperitve that we let Gods Word to speak for itself and trust God to shed the needed light so that we can see and understand. God bless you Brother, lionheart |

951 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169576
Bereaniam, I agree totally with what your saying regarding Peter,I'm not sure about Judaizing. But Peter was definatly standing on the fence and Paul called him on it. I dont think Peter and Paul separated over this though. Acts is explicate that God was sending Paul to the gentiles. No problemo bro. In Christ, lionheart |
||||||
952 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169588
Bereaniam, Notice that Paul says to follow him as he follows Christ. We all need godly example and that is what I believe Paul is speaking to here. Paul's central focus is always Jesus Christ. Paul makes frequent reference to the Old testament,Thus Romans 15:4. Hopefully this gets us a little closer and I'm understanding your question better. In Christ, lionheart |

953 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169602
Bereaniam, I think the light just went on. In light of 2 Peter 1:3 they did have what they needed.You are correct they absolutely didnt have the advantages we do today. That would come with time.That's why Romans 15:4. Until the Gospels and the rest of the new testament had been penned much reference to Messianic prophecy and what Jesus did was made from the Old Testament,this is what was already available in writting so that people would have some actual seeable evidence. Hopefully we're getting closer to a defineable answer. In Christ, lionheart |

955 | How do we know that GOD is truly speakin | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 177957
Hey Doc, Some times people expect revelation from God to be something extra biblical. But in truth anything God will show us will fall within the bounds of His Word. And that we have right at our fingertips everyday. Well said my brother. In Christ, lionheart |

957 | God allowing things in our lives | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 193838
miller521, I will try and refer to this within the context of Hebrews 12:4-12 and James 1:13-15. God does allow things and he will oft times use the issues,challenges and afflictions to mold and build our character or to bring us back when we wander of the given path. In Him, lionheart |

960 | God allowing things in our lives | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 193853
Cheri, I don't know if I ever mentioned this to you but I co-lead a ministry within my fellowship that ministers to the physically and emotionally challenged. Things constantly change in the lives of people and it can be easy to look at things as a curse, when in reality they can be a blessing from God. As Paul says, when I am weak then I am strong. These past four years have been a real eye opener for me. It's helped me realize that that any strength I have isn't my own but His. It's Grace sweetie and that's why I'm still here today. In Him, lionheart |
