You state that "When we come to saving Grace through our belief in Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Peter says "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Now, which one of you is right?

Romans 10:9-11 is speaking to those who had already received the Holy Ghost (Spirit).I also disagree with you on Acts 2:38. It is not just speaking on Water baptism. It also include Spirit baptism.

There is believing. And there is, believing to the Saving of ones Soul. You may receive the words , yet, not recieve the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Can you be saved without receiving the Holy Ghost (Spirit)?
184 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140288
EdB, could you tell me, have you ever witness an individual receive the Holy Ghost (Spirit) as they did in the book of Acts. And if so, how did you know that they did, in fact, receive it.

Tim, I ask you the same question that I asked Edb. Have you witness and individual being filled with (receiving) the Holy Ghost (Spirit). And if so, How did you know that he was in fact recieving the Holy Ghost (Spirit).

First of all the audience matters very much. There is a diffence between a regenerated heart and one that is not. Second I can show you that what Peter says in Acts 2:38 Do include the Spirit baptism. Acts 11:16-17. |

First of all the audience matters very much. It matter in bible study who is speaking, what is the subject and who they are speaking to. There is a diffence between a regenerated heart and one that is not. Second, I can show you that what Peter says in Acts 2:38 Do include the Spirit baptism. Read Acts 11:16-17. |

188 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140335
Because I speak the Truth and know what I am talking about. How do you think I know these things, by my own power as if I gave myself the Holy Ghost? Now, you probably think that I am even more arrogant. And boast in myself, and not in God. So, let God judge.
189 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140336
Because I said I know the difference between being filled with the Holy Ghost and the Gift of Tongues. You call me arrogant. If I had made that statement to anyone in our Church that have received the Holy Ghost. Their reply would not have been how "arrogant" it more likely would have been "so can I". So we are of the same mind. |

190 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140340
I was all but begged to post my beliefs and this is one reason I did not want to. Now, ever change you get (meaning you along with others) try to use it against me. Where did I say anything about my denomination (as you call it)other than when asked or in one case when I need to identify myself to a babe in Christ. Also, there are many denominations with the same beliefs.
191 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140341
So, you see a difference in being filled with the Spirit and receiving the Holy Spirit? And you believe you can be saved without recieving the Holy Spirit or before you receive the Holy Spirit. Do I have that correct? I am not trying to debate as I have be told. I am just trying to understand where you are coming from.
192 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140343
What happens when one receive the Holy Spirit. Is there a outward manifestation? What happens when one if "Baptised of the Holy Spirit" if there an outward manifestation. I have never heard anyone make a distinction before.
193 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140349
I believe that if you receive the Holy Spirit the outward manifestation will take care of it self. After all Peter did not preach speaking in tongues, he did preach the True Gospel. And as a result people did recieve the Holy Spirit. But, you are right, you can't be saved without receiving the Holy Spirit.
194 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140357
You read Acts 11 and that is all you got. Then I give up. I can be of no use to you.
195 | Saved w/o receiving the Spirit? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140358
Yes, I do. I answered EdB. He knew the answer.

"With"is correct. I stand corrected. Thank You!
198 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140361
Could you please tell me what is wrong with Acts 2:38. Which I believe is the most direct and clear Passages in the bible as to what one must do the recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit). I have been told to "believe" and you shall recieve it . I have been told to accept Christ and I will recieve it. Confess with your mouth and believe in you heart. But no one seems to want to believe Peter in Acts 2:38
199 | Individuals seeking, expecting tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140363
The bible also does not say that they was saved. It also does not say that they recieved the Holy Ghost. It says they was added. It did not say that they completed the process in Acts 2:38. A good excample if Simon. He was a beleiver Acts 8:13. But, do you see where the Apostles laid hands on him. Do you really believe that he received the Holy Ghost (Spirit) with the condition of his heart?
200 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140366
I agree with most of what you said. Except realize that God do not need anyone around to baptize you with the Holy Ghost. I know an individual that recieved the Holy Ghost when he was singing unto the Lord while fishing. He later came to Church and no one believed him. He then while at the alter calling unon the Lord was refilled. And he said yes, that was it.
