1 | The Cross,Jesus and Mary are they Idols? | Bible general Archive 1 | creed | 45041
Because in the culture we live in has taught us these are symbols. A cross literally was two pieces of wood but in our culture it a religious symbol. In American culture when someone give the "thumbs up" it a positive gesture. In others countries it foul gesture that symbolizes something completely different. So, depending on the subculture a person belongs to these "idols" means spiritual protection, a statement of which faith they are practicing or symbol of their spiritual status.
2 | The Cross,Jesus and Mary are they Idols? | Bible general Archive 1 | creed | 45313
The thumbs up definition you gave is an american culture gesture. In Northern greece culture it means "Up Yours". I'm not disputing Exodus, I was just explaining why people have idols. Because if can understand why people do these things, then we can help them change. Any other way creates agreements and defensiveness, two qualities we should not provoke as believers.

Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged? Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." We shouldn't use the bible to judge or condemn people. This only makes people become defensive and provokes an argumentative environment.Galatians 5:25-26 "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. " I agree thats it's not our responsibility to change anyone, but we are responsible of our approach when speaking to people in conversation. We need to understand them before viocing our beliefs. Proverbs 2:1-2 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, 3 and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, |

(Aunt) Lev 18:13 'You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's blood relative.(Aunt) And it never mentions the children of the Aunts and Uncles. I can not agree. It has gone into to much details for something like that to be left out. The bible says in Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you, and you will be found a liar. (Whole Chapter: Proverbs 30 In context: Proverbs 30:5-7) |

10 | How do our sufferingss "fill up"... | Col 1:24 | creed | 45091
Cheryl, my point was that the story of Job 1-42 sums up the distiction of suffering. There are no differences in suffering.
