Yes, I do have a problem with unitarian cults, I have seen first hand several times what they, accompanied with the devil, can do to families. Also, it always amazes me how people will continue to buy into a religion(Ex:JWs, way international, mormonism, etc...) or theology that views Christ in a way that is more so similar to the "religion" of the people that high jacked and flew airplanes into our twin towers and then danced in the streets over it, than it is with Christianity. So yes, as I said earlier, I do have a problem with these people. But sad to say, if you don't(have a problem with these people), then YOU are the one that has a "real problem..." Dear Agnostic, Ask yourself this question? Where did all this, (earth, people, stars, planets, technology) come from? An accident? The second law of thermodynamics states that things left to themselves, tend to become disordered, not more orderly. It lends that in order for things to become "better organized", (i.e. a planet from nothing), that there must be some intelligent design involved.....believer57

Dear "Unitarian", 1 John 5:7; "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one". I know, mistranslation, added later, etc., etc. 2 Peter 2:1,2;,"But there were false prophets also among you, even as there SHALL BE false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even DENYING the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be EVIL SPOKEN OF". Stop reading the encyclopedia, and read the Bible for yourself.. God Bless...believer57 |

Tim, Please allow me to "substantiate" my claims...again. *You dont preach anything other than that which was founded by the apostles... -Acts 10:38 "...God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power..."(The way I understand your theology, this verse should be translated "...God anointed his other half with himself..." -You never answered my questions regarding Pauls introductions, II Corinthians 13:14, and Galatians 4:4-6 "...God sent forth his Son...God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son...", once again...sounds to me like the apostles understood the Trinity very well. -Just a quick side note: Do you honestly not realize just how stupid the Bible would sound if you substituted "Body of God" for "Son of God"? Then I guess we could say "Body of Man" rather than "Son of man"...since we are taking a figurative look at scripture. *Once again...3 persons one God, The following is a quote from some of Derek Prince's commentary on the Trinity. "In God both oneness and plurality are eternally combined. This mystery confronts us in the opening verse of the Bible: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." In the origional Hebrew, elohim(the word for "God")is plural in form, but the verb bara(created) is singular. In other words, both oneness and plurality are combined. Further on, in Genesis 1:26, we are again confronted with the combination of singular and plural in reference to God: "Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...'" The verb "said" is singular in form, but the pronouns "Us" and "Our" are plural. This combination of singular and plural in reference to God recurs in other passages of Scripture. The prophet Isaiah had a vision of the Lord on His throne and then heard Him say, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" The pronoun "I" implies that one Person is speaking, but the pronoun "Us" indicates that He is speaking on behalf of more than one Person." -Your responce to the 110th Psalm is correct, but you see, I dont need to understand the "duel nature" of Christ, to see that God the Father is talking to his Son. -You still haven't responded to the fact that Jesus said "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Your theology insinuates that God denied his own will...to do his own will...that God ask himself if it is possible let this cup pass from himself??????????????????????????????????????? -You still haven't responded to my commentary on John 6:56...? *In closing, I am getting very tired of your rhetorical sleight of hand. Since I have stepped in all you have done is dodge my responces...ANSWER UP MODALIST!! What seminary did you attend? What denomination is your church? What church were you raised in? Why do you have such a problem with the orthodox Christian Church? Right now I would guess that you are either a "Oneness Pentecostal"(modalist)or an "Apostolic"(modalist), with a degree in psychology, who does't care to conform his omniscient opninion with doctrtinal statements of the majority of Americas seminaries because they teach the erronious doctrine of the trinity....ANSWER UP MODALIST!! Pastor, I think my son did an outstanding job of refuting modalism. I think this has gone on far enough. You are unwilling to bend, (I actually admire that), but are not correct in your theology. I have been praying for guidance with regards to heresies in the church. They abound around us. Sabellian was rightly labelled a heretic by people who knew scripture better than you or I, (and they were pre-Nicene creeed). This was the reason I quoted their sayings regarding modalism. It, in my belief, simply does not make sense, nor did it to them. I do not understand these "offshoot" theologies, but they are here and I am trying to. You make statements like "you must" and that is simply not true. We must adhere to the Word of God, and how the Holy Ghost reveals it to us. I see what you are trying to prove, but it just does not make any sense. You deceive yourself, my friend. The thought of mentioning an animal like Adolf Hitler, in the same sentence as some of our church fathers, tells me that you have reached the desperation point. Of course you adhere to the teaching of men, (Sabellian). You can do better that, can't you? We can argue all day over whether a fire truck is red or not, (it is), but this will get us no where. It is frustrating dealing with the heresies that have sprung up, but it is something that us Christians must do. I apologize if this debate got a little "spicey", but my son is zealous for his Lord and Saviour, and he is not very patient with those who choose to "spiritualize" text. The Word does NOT say Jesus prayed from one part of himself to another, but if that is what you see, then so be it. According to your theology, the Father suffered on the cross, (Patriapassianism). I am not buying, nor are most of us, (praise God!). I did not mean to assume the posture of personal attacks, but my son is correct in his assessment. I too, have engaged "unitarians", and other "modalists", and it ALWAYS gets down to accusations of personal attacks, when they are overwhelmed with scriptural evidence contrary to their theology. It also appears evident, that their theology is almost entirely based in the Pauline Letters. This is consistent with Peter's warning, (2 Peter 3:16). Paul's letters to the churches were in response to problems in the church, but were not meant as foundational doctrine. You should know this. Are his letters the inspired word? Absolutely. It appears that your "cornerstone" is Colossians 2:9. This is clearly an example of "spiritualizing" scripture. Paul did not mean that Jesus was the completeness of the Father, and the Holy Spirit, encapsulated, so that the other two are not co-existent. Of course not. He is declaring the deity of Christ, whom had been annointed with the Holy Spirit. How many times does Paul, along with the prophets, and Christ himself, tell us that He was SENT? Too many to respond to. I understand. Did Jesus tell us that He would SEND a part of himself? Of course not. All Three are alive and well, my friend."The Lord said unto my Lord..." Did I miss your response to that one? I thought so... ( My son's signature means 50 MM Holy Ghost Cannon!). He is an arrow in my quiver....And to think, he started off as a "unitarian".He is now a spirit-filled Christian, a member of a rather large, non-denominational church in San Antonio....The Truth is indeed powerful, and it will set you free.. Remember, you started this, (Is God one or three? Please, spare me the theatrics. This is what you wanted..). Problem is, I am a player, and will play all night.. I do hold the popular, traditional view, it has worked pretty good so far..Why don't you? Oh, ALL of us are wrong, and your small number is right? Seek and preach the Truth, your ministry will explode....You have passion, the harvest is plenty... we need labourers..Jump on, the hour is late... God Bless.....believer57

Dear Tim, *Jude 1:8 is talking about false prophets, therefore "dignities" is clearly speaking of dignities in the church. By continualy dodging my "logical and thoghtful" commentary on your previous post, and not responding. As you mentioned I will consider your retreat, and failure to respond "tacit admission of inability to do so"(as you put it). Trinitarians-1...Modalist-0 Final note to those who might be following these post. You will notice anytime you are dealing with a cult member(EX: Jehovahs whitness, modalist, the way international, etc...). In a debate situation they will ultimatly do what our friend Tim here has done...that is run with their tail tucked. That is why it is so important to learn the Bible, and the foundational doctrines. Because the Bible is absolutly perfect and without error, and when you get familiar with foundational doctrines, dealing with cultist is very easy, because one cannot argue with the TRUTH, only rebel against it. Dear Tim, My name is David, beliver 57 is my father, by his permission I am writing this in response to your last post. Answers to the points you have made. *Your explanation for Elohiym; True Abraham means father of multitudes...but what does that have to do with the fact that Elohiym is plural? *You reject any post apostolic teaching on the trinity. Why then does Paul in his letters use the greeting "Grace be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ"? Why wouldnt he just say "...peace from Jesus Christ our God"? What did Paul mean in II Corinthians 13:14? What did he mean in Galatians 4:4-6 by "...God sent forth His Son..."? Sounds to me like Paul(the Apostle) understood the trinity very well. *Three persons, one God.(old Test) -Gen 1:26 "...let Us create man in Our image, after our likeness...". Who do you think God was talking to? If you are going to use the "majestic plurality" excuse, I will be requiring examples from other Hebrew writings were this same figure of speach was used. -Psalm 2:7-8 "...Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee..." -Psalm 110:1 "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool" (Let me get this straight, God was telling himself, to sit on his own right hand, until he made his own enemies, his own footstool?) **New Testament** -Mark 1:11 "...Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" -John 14:28 "...my Father is greater than I." -John 12:49 "For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me..." -John 6:38 "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me" -Matt 26:39 "...nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." -John 16:13 "...he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak..." (note: the fact that the Holy Spirit speaks indicates a PERSONALITY) -John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God..." *Your figurative definition for Son of God was a stretch, I couldnt find it in Webster's, The American Heritage College Dictionary, Strongs Greek Dictionary/Lexicon(huios), Youngs Analitical Concordance to the Bible. Wouldnt you agree that by applying "figurative or allegorical" interpritation to scripture, one could force the text to mean anything?. *You often refered to the verses that point to the fact that Christ was in God and God was in Christ. -Yes, this points obviously to the unity of God -However it does not support your theory that there is not a Trinity. Ex: John 6:56 "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him"...just because I am in Jesus and Jesus is in me, does this mean that I am not a seperate person from Jesus? *Final note, to you and others that may be reading these posts. Sabellianism/Modalism is a heresy(by that I mean "a controversial or unorthodox opinion or doctrine, contrary to accepted dogma of Christianity"). Also, the simple fact that you "nay-say" the teachings of the early church fathers, in itself is a characteristic of a false prophet(Jude 1:8 "...speak evil of dignities.")...is it not..mon ami? Now, why dont you understand the trinity? Either, I Corinthians 2:14, a demon spirit, or pride. You were probably tought this non-sence when you were a kid and are simply too pridful to consider the truth. It is amazing to me how many cultist will stay in denial just out of pride. When you finally say to God, not my will, but thine be done...thats when the truth will you like a ton of bricks. But you have to deny yourself before you can follow Jesus. Lastly, as far as the salvation of a modalist is concerned, thats not my job, but I can tell you that your skating on thin ice. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you, -Believer 50mmH.G.C. |

Dear "Pastor", First, I do not wish to be offensive, but it appears that you came on to this site to start this "debate", and I am proud of my "Trinitarian" brothers who have stood with me against this heresy. We have pointed out scripture after scripture that disproves this "Oneness" heresy, but it is obvious that you are not listening. I will try one more. How about quoting some of the early Fathers of the church? In the third century, Sabellius, a Libyan priest who was staying at Rome, invented a new heresy. He claimed there is only one person in the Godhead, so that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one person with different "offices", rather than three persons. He was quickly excommunicated. This heresy is referenced three ways, Sabellianism, its founder, Modalism, the "modes", and Patripassianism, after its implication that the Father suffered on the cross, (huh?). As you well know, it quickly died out, but has been revived, now in the Age of Apostasy, as "Oneness Penetecostalism", or "Jesus Only" theology. It presents Jesus as the only person in the Godhead, and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are offices, or modes of Jesus. You are in the United Pentecostal Church, or "apostolics", are you not?; (I've been reading about them). I too watch a very popular television broadcast network, where this "Word Of Faith" movement has been popularized, (Hosea 4:6). Or rather, I used to. Now, some quotes: 1. Tertullian, (A.D. 216) "; "This is especially so in the case of the present heresy, [Sabellianism], which considers itself to have the pure truth when it supposes that one cannot believe in the one only God in any way other than by saying that Father, Son, and Spirit are the selfsame person. As if one were not all...through the unity of substance". 2.Pope Dionysius, (A.D.262); "But some treat the Holy Trinity in an awful manner, when they confidently assert that there are not three persons, and introduce (the idea of) a person devoid of subsistence. Wherefore we clear ourselves of Sabellius, who says that the Father and the Son are the same....We forswear this..." 3. Athanasius, (A.D.360); "They, [the Father and the Son], are one, not as one thing now divided into two, but really constituting only one, nor as one thing twice named, so that the same becomes at one time the Father and at another his own Son. The latter is what Sabellius held, and he was judged a heretic." I could go on, but I think you get the idea. My Lord and Saviour, the Prince of Peace, the mighty Counsellor, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, has a FATHER! He SENT us the COMFORTER, to guide us into all truth... What is it? Why are you "apostolics" so afraid of the truth? I believe that you, and your followers, need a constant dose of "demonstration" of God's power. His infallible Word, His work on the cross, His promise of salvation, does not get it done for "Jesus Only" folowers. They require constant "proof", (slain in the spirit, healings, etc.). They are blinded to the truth by their "pastors". They hide behind the cloke of "rightly dividing", and "accuse the brethren". "Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a FALSE vision and DIVINATION, and a thing of NOUGHT, and the DECEIT of THEIR heart".; [Jeremiah 14:14]. "Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord."; [Jeremiah 23:1]. God Bless, and may you come to the Light of the Truth....believer57 |

Pastor Cormier, Greetings my brother, and heartfelt apologies... I did not mean to come across as sarcastic, nor did I mean my post as a personal attack. I have been doing some studying on the "Oneness Pentecostal" movement, and am troubled by some of it precepts. I abhor divisivness, but do enjoy lively debate. We live in the Age of Apostasy, as you well know, and its this type of division in our church that, I believe, weakens our message. Anyway, to the point. Elohiym is the Hebrew word for God. Strong's Concordance points out that this word is plural, referencing the plurality of God. That is why the Hebrew writers used it. You stated that your body, soul, and spirit compromise one. That is exactly what we are talking about. Father, Son, Holy Ghost, comprise ONE. One times one times one equals One. (Not One plus One plus One equals Three). We are not polytheists. The two words used in Hebrew for the word "one", further illustrate what the Holy Spirit was directing the writers to say. God is a "compound" unity, not singular. 7 is considered the number for completeness, 3 perfection. The Son prayed to the Father, because, at that time, He "was made a little lower than angels". ( Forgive me, I do not have my Bible with me, sorry for the lack of references!). He was in a "temporary" subordinate role while He was in the flesh. This is why He told his disciples that is "expedient" that He went away, so that He could send "the Comforter". This was promised to us in Joel, "I will pour out MY spirit upon all flesh...". It was expedient because He was limited, with regards to omniprescence, while in the flesh. He was in a subordinate role. He was SENT forth FROM the Father. I do not know for sure, but I believe that some Pentecostals fall into the "spiritualizing the text" trap. That is, everything scriptural revolves around spirituality. True, "holy men spake as they were moved..", but I believe text is to be translated "literally". The best way to interpret scripture is with another scripture, (How can two walk together lest they agree?). Christ was not, I believe, praying from one part of himself to another. The text illustrates that He was praying to his Father. That's what it says, and that is the way we receive it. Finally, God did create us in his image, the tri-parte unity of his image. Body, Soul, Spirit, (Father, Son, Holy Ghost). There is no contradiction in scripture. One man,3 parts, each one man. One God, 3 parts, each one God. The Trinity is taught in the first three verses of the Bible...In the beginning, Elohiym..., (plural). The spirit, (Holy Ghost) moved upon the face....And God said, (The Word of God..Christ). Hope I made some sense. If not, holler back...I pray for blessings and fruitfulness upon your ministry, Pastor Cormier. No reason why us "theologs" can't get together and "kick it around" a little! (Hey, I've got a friend that's a "unitarian". Man, it gets lively around there some times!). Holler back, and God Bless you....believer57

Dear Modalist, Just thought I would drop in my 2 cents. Modalism, rising from the Oneness Pentecostal Movement, is considered heresy. Deut.6:4. The Hebrew word used here is "Echad" which means "compound unity". It differs from the Hebrew word, "Yachid", which implies singulariity. "Yachid" is never used in the Hebrew language to refer to God. Zech. 14:9, "And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one, [Yachid], Lord, and his name one, [echad]. Gen 1:26 "And God, [elohim-plur.], said, let US make man in OUR image..." No, this is not a "majestic plurality", nor was he referenceing angels. We were not created in the image of angels, and the concept of "majestic plurality", is never used in Hebrew. You've probably heard this before, thought I would drop in. If you are a modalist, don't hide it, just justify it. My question to modalists is this, Did Jesus pray to himself? Of course, not. The trinity is not able to be understood with your mind, (carnality). Man was created Body,(Jesus), Soul, (Father), and Spirit, (Holy Ghost). 3 is the number for perfection. The Holy Trinity, the fullness of the Godhead, is perfect!...Didn't want to argue, just dropping in 2 cents.....God Bless.."The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all", [2 cor.13:14]....believer57

Burnette, The Garden of Eden will never be found. It is a teaching regarding the presence of God in our lives. If you will recall, God's first commandment to Adam was to "Dress and Keep" the garden.[Gen.2:15]; "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it". The garden did actually exist at one time, but it is not important to us now if we find it, or some archeological remnant. The garden represents the Kingdom of God, which is the presence of God in our lives. We are to dress and tend to it. We are to obey the Word of God, and you will "stay" in the garden. If not, you probably know what happened...God Bless...believer57

Dear Friend, I speak to you with the authority of the living Son of God, Jesus Christ. He was sent into this world so that you and I may have eternal life. What is the opposite of eternal life? Eternal damnation. That is the choice that confronts each of us. Which way do we wish to go? Now, accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, is a decision that you should make based upon reliable information. I would that you would not make a decision as important as this otherwise. What are the facts? Is God real? Yes. Did He provide man with a plan for salvation? Yes. Why did He provide us with this plan for our salvation? In the garden of Eden, Adam, the first man, fell from His grace by choosing sin, (disobeying God's Word), over obedience to his Word. However, God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for you. You may not understand all of this now, but it is the truth. Since the garden, all men are born sinners and do not have a way back to God other than through acceptance of His Son as the Lord of their life. In other words, we "accept" His atonement that He made for us on the cross. He suffered horribly, so that you might be saved from eteranal separation from Him. Romans 3:23 tells us; "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". Psalms 14, 2-3; "The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are ALL gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, NOT ONE." The Bible also tells us that "the wages of sin is death". We have a choice, my friend, but there really is no choice. If you would like to have: eternal life, living in fellowship with like-minded children of God, His promise of eternal existence with Him after you leave this world, living now with peace, love, joy, gentleness in your life, a way of understanding all the chaos in the world today, an anchor in your life that will hold you in the storms that lie ahead, a Friend that will never leave you or forsake you, then His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus declares, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"; [John 8:32]. What is the truth? "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME"; [John 14:6]. My dear friend, all you have to do is get upon your knees and pray a simple prayer. And when you pray this, mean it from the bottom of your heart. Do this all by yourself. You don't have to be with anybody; (you will want to tell somebody later, why? Jesus desires us to "confess Him before men", Matt. 10:32). Just pray that you desire Him to come into your heart, and be the Lord and Saviour of your life. Pray that you renounce satan, and sin. Your are tired of being a lost sinner, and wish to know Him. Your are tired of the confusion and anguish in this world, and cannot face it another day without Him. He will come into your life, and the angels in heaven will rejoice! Jesus told us that "I will not leave you comfortless, I WILL COME TO YOU". He is knocking at the door... Ask Him, and He will come in...Your life will never be the same! God Bless..Write back, if I can be of some more help. If I have confused you, let me know. Together, we'll get if figured out!..believer57

Romans 10:8-9, "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy HEART: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved". I believe this scripture is plain. How can we confess something that we believe in, in fact, the most important thing in our life, without it being part of us? How can something be a part of us, if we do not INVITE it into our lives? "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their HEART far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precepts of men". (Isaiah 29:13). "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity"; [Matt.7:22-23]. Need more? Need Jesus in your life? How else, but to INVITE HIM..."Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and OPEN THE DOOR, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me"; [Rev.3:20]. Hey Love Fountain, You raise some interesting points, I'll see if I can at least get you pointed in the right direction. 1. Satan does tempt us with lies and distortion of scripture. With Jesus, he attempted to distort scripture to get Jesus to sin. In the garden, he distorted the word of God, and Eve disobeyed, (sinned). 1 John 2:16 outlines the 3 areas of sin that satan beguiles us with his lies. "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world". Each sin that we commit, can be placed in one of these categories. How do we resist? Jesus taught us in the desert. "It is written". 2. We do not condemn our brothers and sisters for their unbelief. It is they that condemn themselves. Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.." As you probably know, we are not to judge either. 3. Romans 10. This is a teaching of Paul regarding the Jews. I can say more, but I have to run now...Holler back....God Bless...believer57 |

JMa, I believe that this passage, like all passages, is not ambiguous, but very clear. This is a warning of the results of being offensive towards a "brother". Offending someone creates a gulf which is very difficult to cross. Creating an offensive atmosphere with our brothers and sisters makes it that much more difficult to reach them in their time of need. Peter tells us not to exchange .."railing for railing..", (1 Peter 3:9). This makes communication, help, reaching, very difficult...God Bless..believer57

Love Fountain, I'll try to clarify. Hebrews 11:6, another one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. "But, without faith, it is impossible to please him;, for he that cometh to God MUST BELIEVE that he IS, and that he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY seek him". It sounds as if there is someone you are refering to that is battling unbelief, and there exists a question of their salvation. If they died today, there is no salvation available to them. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Satan does not have the power to steal salvation. Satan, as I said earlier, is the "father of lies". He is a defeated, prideful, coward! Do not fear him, my sister! He was defeated at Calvary! When Christ arose, he was defeated for ever! He has no power over any saint, if that saint will cling to our Lord and Saviour! He is a liar! God allows him to lie, in order to strengthen our relationship with Him. God will not allow satan to harm one of his, if we are walking with Him! He is a "roaring lion, that walketh about, seeking whom he may devour", (2 Peter 5:8). Many people use this scripture to promote fear of satan. This is another lie. Why does a lion roar? To scare its prey FROM A DISTANCE. Do not give him credit for anything else but being a liar! God will allow unbelievers to be deceived by satan. God blessed us with free wills. He wants us to love and worship Him of our own choice. If we choose Him, we choose eternal life. If we have doubts, unbelief, little faith, then satan will gladly step in and devour you. We all know what happens to things after they are devoured. They become non-existent. The source of a persons non-belief is THEMSELVES. They have made a choice to not believe that God is real and He loves them. Returning to our parable, that is why Jesus taught that they received it with gladness, (many new believers do, ("wow, that sounds great!"). Shortly thereafter, unbelief creeps in. Doubts. How? Their faith is not fed.( "desire ye the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may GROW thereby;"..1 Peter 2:2). Familiar, but powerful scripture..."So then, faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God", (Romans 10:17). Faith comes by RECEIVING the Word of God, not just reading it with doubts and questions. RECEIVE it as a part of your being. It is the divinely inspired Word of God. God told Adam, in his first commandment, when He placed him in the garden to ..."dress it and keep it.."; (Gen. 2:15). What was the Garden of Eden? The presence of God in our lives. We are to "dress and keep" the presence of God in our lives. How? Daily Bible study, (not just reading, STUDY). Prayer. Church attendance. Being with like minded believers, (..cast not your pearls amongst the swine, LEST they trample them under, and then turn on you.."; (paraphrasing Matt.7:6). This is how we "dress and keep" the "garden". What happens when you dress and keep a garden? It bears fruit! I hope this helped.. Try not to get tangled up in fruitless debates, and strivings... Let the "theologs" do that...Diligently seek Him, He will reward you....If I further confused, holler back..We'll keep going 'til we get it right!! God Bless You, my sister....believer57
19 | Did Satan know God's plan for salvation | Bible general Archive 1 | believer57 | 34551
Barry, I fully believe that Satan knows that he is a defeated foe! Remember Matt. 8:29, when the "devils" asked Jesus, "..art thou come hither to torment us before THE TIME?". They, as Satan does, know that The Son was sent to save us. God's plan of salvation was presented first in the OT, (passage from Egypt, the Passover, the Tabernacle, Daniel's friends in the furnace, Daniel in the lion's den, story of Joseph ). Further, as you well know, Satan knows the Scriptures backwards and forwards. He knows that God will not allow his people to perish in eternal hell, if they will choose Him. Satan knows that God wants to save us, and that is why he does everything in his "limited" power to condemn us. The "I wills" of Satan demonstrate his plan to ruin our salvation. Remember when Satan said, in his heart, "I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north"? Satan is warning us that he will be sitting next to the churches, and the saints! Why? To take from the flock. He knows that Christ is our Shepherd, and he will do anything he can to take us from Him! He knows God's plan. He knows he is defeated! When Christ arose, he trembled with fear! I believe that when our precious Lamb was on the cross, that Satan, in his own self-deception, thought he had won. But, He is arisen! And that old serpent the Devil, is defeated! I love the story of the man in the tombs. Satan, big and bad, so he thinks, begging Christ not to torment him! Yes sir, he knows...Holler back, if I can help... God Bless....believer57

Jules, Greetings my brother/sister in Christ! I apologize if I misrepresented myself regarding the Pauline Letters. They are absolutely, as is every word in our beloved Bible, the inspired Word of God. Remember Jesus quoting Deut.8:3 to Satan, when he tempted Him in the desert: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". Every word in the Bible, is the "Word of God". I believe that there is some typology present in this scripture. "Bread" as used in Deut. refers to Christ.(John 6:51). I believe that this scripture tells us to live by the entire Bible, not just the NT. Now, referencing the Pauline Letters, They are, as is all of it, vital to the every day life of a Christian. I too, am a big fan of Colossians. The point that I, perhaps not too well, tried to make is that the Pauline Letters were written in response to problems brought to Paul's attention in the various churches. They, I believe, were not intended for use as Foundational Doctrine. They are for clarification, reproof, and instruction, (2 Tim.3:16). Foundational Doctrine is found primarily in the Torah, and the Gospels. There is "doctrine" found in the Letters, some of the more powerful scriptures in the Bible are found here, but not Foundational Doctrine. Many Christians, as I stated earlier, make the mistake of getting "hung up in the Letters", and this is what Peter was warning us about. When he referenced the "unlearned and unstable", he was referencing "baby" Christians. Babies need milk, not meat. When "baby" Christians try to digest meat, this will lead to their destruction. When looking to "build" your foundation, look first to the OT, then the gospels. Who is God? What/how does He feel about certain things? Why was His Son sent to us? Why do we need His Son? What is His plan of salvation? What is His will for my life? Desire ye the sincere milk of the Word! Remember, Jesus told us to "become as little children". James tells us "..be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation", (James 3:1). I hope this helped. If I further confused you, please let me know! God bless you my friend...believer57
