Keep up the good work with a humble heart, Talmid. We all come here to learn and to share. 305 | Does the bible talk about hygiene? | Leviticus | azurelaw | 236735
Dear Mustang, I pray that the Holy Spirit works in your son's heart for the salvation work of Christ in him. Just a note for you. The Bible should be read as a whole which is an essential means that God reveal Himself (His characters, nature and works) to us. It does not MAINLY deal with trivial issues in our daily lives (i.e. how to improve our marriage relationship, how to handle our finance, the hygienic problems,etc.). Therefore, when we read the Bible, our focus must be on God. Stay, ask questions and interact with us, and hope you enjoy the forum. Shalom Azure |

307 | Homosexual are picked on in the church? | Lev 20:13 | azurelaw | 177387
Dear Kalos, I agree with you totally. This subject or similar one has been discussed over and over again. Why is that so? Sadly I believe it could be people's hardness of heart and their blindness towards Satan's tricks. Many of you guys have given sound and clear scriptural explanation on the issue, still the question just re-appears like weeds. Proverbs 19:3 - A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the Lord. Proverbs 23:29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? 30: Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. 31: Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! 32: In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. 33: Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things. 34: You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. 35: "They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt! They beat me, but I don't feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?" Woe unto those who are still making excuses for not repenting. How heartbreaking it is to see that we walk our own way. God bless. Azure |

308 | Why the children? | Num 33:55 | azurelaw | 224836
Dear Inquisitor, You say: Thus they're (children) assured a place in Heaven. However, scripture teaches that we are sinful even in our mother's womb. So how could children be innocent? Ps 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in [a state of] iniquity; my mother was sinful who conceived me [and I too am sinful]. [John 3:6; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3.] Shalom Azure |

309 | Why the children? | Num 33:55 | azurelaw | 224838
Read Matt 19:14 in context to see what is Jesus' teaching to His disciple. Consider the cultural background in the passage : women, children - their status in the Jewish society. Contrasting the helpless and low class (children and women) with the rich young man relying on his own righteousness and richness. So, the message is not about children have a place secured in heaven for their innocence, but rebuking those deeming themselves high status (or of higher value and rich) and self-righteous but not depending on God. My 2 cents :-) Shalom Azure |

310 | Why the children? | Num 33:55 | azurelaw | 224855
Dear Inquisitor, I don't mean to be disregarding you. While you were posting and exchanging thoughts with Beja, it was my bedtime:-) I think Beja said much better than I. However, upon your request for responding to your previous post where you cited Deut 24:16, Jer 31:30, Ezek 18:19-20 in support of your notion, I would say the same "CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT". Simply put: Deut 24 and those preceding and succeeding chapters are God's moral and civil laws to the Israelite before they enter Canaan. Guiding their behaviour to deal with people of their own and gentiles. Interesting to see the scripture you cited in Jeremiah, from the context, it does not support your notion but contrary, it goes parallel and in echo with Rom 5:12. That's why we need (God granted) a saviour "Jesus" for human race (the new covenant - Jesus - mentioned in Jeremiah). Ezekiel also contains similar background for the discussion of the Adamic sin effect and consequence on human race. Read chapter 17 that the rebellious Israelite king caused the nation being captivated. That's why the Israelites grumbled against God in chapter 18. I hope I have expressed myself clear. So, I don't see your scriptures cited line up with what we have been discussing. Thank you for your patience Shalom Azure |

311 | Happy Father's Day | Deut 4:37 | azurelaw | 216790
Thanks for the quotes. Father's day also bring to mind the below hymn by Maltbie D. Babcock This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; His hand the wonders wrought. This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise, The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise. This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass; He speaks to me everywhere. This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done: Jesus Who died shall be satisfied, And earth and Heav’n be one. This is my Father’s world, dreaming, I see His face. I ope my eyes, and in glad surprise cry, “The Lord is in this place.” This is my Father’s world, from the shining courts above, The Beloved One, His Only Son, Came—a pledge of deathless love. This is my Father’s world, should my heart be ever sad? The lord is King—let the heavens ring. God reigns—let the earth be glad. This is my Father’s world. Now closer to Heaven bound, For dear to God is the earth Christ trod. No place but is holy ground. This is my Father’s world. I walk a desert lone. In a bush ablaze to my wondering gaze God makes His glory known. This is my Father’s world, a wanderer I may roam Whate’er my lot, it matters not, My heart is still at home. **** Shalom Azure |

316 | Is The Quote In The Bible? Where? | Deut 23:18 | azurelaw | 232001
Dear Gill Fisher, I am afraid it could be difficult to properly associate Deut 23:18 with the old lady's quote (from her memory in her youth) even though she mentioned her pastor quoted that statement many times in his preaching. We could not know why her pastor quote such a statement without knowing the context of his sermons. We understand that secular world like to borrow a bit of the idea from a Bible verse and twist it for their own application. So, my thought is that we cannot be TOO serious about the secular usage. If it is not in the Bible, then just simply tell the lady "NO". Meanwhile, her pastor quoted such statement many times do not necessary mean that it is really a Bible verse. Shalom Azure |

317 | Banker are sinner or not | Deut 23:19 | azurelaw | 215209
Dear Rajeeb, Thank you for providing us your background and your earnestness in pursuing your belief is much appreciated. However, as far as I have noticed, your concern is so much on the law and God the Father. Do you have any idea of the Gospel of salvation through faith in Christ alone and by Grace alone? The Pharisees diligently study and keep the law, yet, they are cursed by Jesus our saviour (Mat 23:13). Satan and his dominion know God and the Son (James 2:19), yet, the lake of fire is prepared for them (Revelation 19 and 20). John 14:6 Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." Shalom Azure |
