882 | How Trinity of God is working? | Gal 4:6 | azurelaw | 190355
Dear Brother Doc, "I'd venture that although the questions are odd, unlearned, and sometimes silly, nevertheless they represent a point of contact between the Word and the world. No matter the content of the questions, we know one thing: these questions are being posed by people who believe that the answers they seek are in the Scriptures. That's a pretty powerful opportunity, wouldn't you say?" Oh, how loving of you to say that! I remember when the 12 disciples were with Jesus, they always asked Him silly questions. Jesus always answered them with patience and love, and used "baby talks" to explain the truth to them. Our Lord is the example for those who are gifted with teachings, like many of you guys on the forum. Keep up the good work for His glory and for the Word seekers. Shalom Azure |

890 | Are miracle healing prayers answered | Matt 18:1 | azurelaw | 190190
Dear Bill, You are right concerning the power of prayers granted to us as in verse 18. My point was to understand the scriptures in line with the context where it talks about the removal of offences in church. Verses 15-20 "If a professed Christian is wronged by another, he ought not to complain of it to others, as is often done merely upon report, but to go to the offender privately, state the matter kindly, and show him his conduct. This would generally have all the desired effect with a true Christian, and the parties would be reconciled. The principles of these rules may be practised every where, and under all circumstances, though they are too much neglected by all. But how few try the method which Christ has expressly enjoined to all his disciples! In all our proceedings we should seek direction in prayer; we cannot too highly prize the promises of God. Wherever and whenever we meet in the name of Christ, we should consider him as present in the midst of us." - Matthew Henry "Verse 18. Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth - By excommunication, pronounced in the spirit and power of Christ. Whatsoever ye shall loose - By absolution from that sentence. In the primitive Church, absolution meant no more than a discharge from Church censure. Again I say - And not only your intercession for the penitent, but all your united prayers, shall be heard. How great then is the power of joint prayer! If two of you - Suppose a man and his wife. Matt. xvi, 19. Verse 20. Where two or three are gathered together in my name - That is, to worship me. I am in the midst of them - By my Spirit, to quicken their prayers, guide their counsels, and answer their petitions." - John Wesley (source: http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/matthew/mhc/matthew18.htm) Shalom Azure |

891 | Are miracle healing prayers answered | Matt 18:1 | azurelaw | 190169
Dear Bill, Sorry that I should have been more precise. Your previous quote was Mat 18:18-20. Please read Mat 18:15-20. It talks about witnessing in judgement or disciplinary action in church. It is in parallel with 1 Tim 5:19. You can do a word search for other scriptural reference by "two or three witness". Hope I have explained it clear. Enjoy the forum and Shalom Azure |

Bill, Thanks for your attempt to answer. May I suggest that you read the whole chapter of Matthew 18 where the context talked about judgement. Nevertheless, the scriptures that come to mind concerning healing by prayers : James 5:14-16. A bit to share with you, I personally have not experienced a miracle healing via prayers. However, a very good friend of mine had an ear problem that affected her hearing more than 20 years ago. Ten years later, she had a chance to express her problem to a pastor at the church where my friend attended a year or two. The pastor laid hands on her ear and prayed for her. The next day, the usual pain and problem in her ear had gone and never came back again. Shalom Azure |

893 | Need Bible verses for "trying new things | Bible general Archive 3 | azurelaw | 190157
Dear Jess, Our brother Jeff has given you a fine answer. When I read your question, the first thing pops onto my mind is the book of Ecclesiastes. Maybe you would like to spend some time on it. I am particularly fond of the last 2 verses Eccl 12:13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. v. 14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil. Dear Rick, Well said, brother. I have just found the below notes in accord with your comments. ---- 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing [this is not carte blanche] in my name [in harmony with His will and His word], I will do it [cf. Jn. 15:16; 16:23]. Note: Praying “in Jesus’ name” is not the recitation of a magic formula or secret password but rather the recognition of who He is, what He stands for, and what He would seek to accomplish. We must ask only what Jesus would ask and by so doing bring glory to the Father. source: http://www.bibleteachingnotes.com/templates/System/ Shalom Azure |
