381 | TRUE HEART OF WORSHIP | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 212747
Hi it's me again, Val, By the way, if we read Revelation, the true heavenly worship depicted does not have the mention of tears, but joy and a totally God-centred praise and prayer. Azure |

Dear Val, I hope you are doing fine and may God bless you and your family abundantly in this new year :-) I think if we define worship as God-centred one in exalting His glory, power, honour and mighty, a broken and contrite heart might not be in this classification. What do you think? Sorry, lacking scripture on this post :-( Shalom Azure |

Dear Bandaid, OK, back to your original question in concern with Matt 5:27-28 and Mark 10:10-12. I believe, base on the context, your interpretation is correct that there is no mention of a woman can divorce her husband. Have you also read 1 Cor 7:1-15? Shalom Azure |

Dear bandaid, Sorry for my butting in. Kindly understand that this is a public forum. Once a question is posted, it is open to getting answers from those who want to help. I think you might need more grace and patience to those who sincerely want to help despite your finding them unhelpful. You don't have to reply every single post that directs to you. It seems to me that it is not a gracious manner to react to Justme that way since it is his first and only one reply with sincerity to your question. You say that you are in a safe place and in good hands, but sadly I see that you are not in a good spirit nor with a thankful heart toward those who attempt to help :-( Col 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Shalom Azure |

386 | What exactly does the term "son of man" | Luke 24:39 | azurelaw | 212596
Dear Gileum, It is interesting that you answer your own question. Anyway, here is what I have got for you as well: ------------------ It was God Himself who was "manifest in the flesh" (1 Ti 3:16). The One born in Bethlehem's manger was "The mighty God" (Isa. 9:6), and heralded as, "Christ the Lord" (Lk 2:11). Let there be no uncertainty on this point. Had He been "emptied" of any of His personal excellency, had His divine attributes been laid aside, then His satisfaction or sacrifice would not have possessed infinite value. The glory of His person was not in the slightest degree diminished when He became incarnate, though it was (in measure) concealed by the lowly form of the servant He assumed. Christ was still "equal with God" when He descended to earth. It was "The Lord of glory" (I Co 2:8) whom men crucified. "And took upon Him the form of a servant." That was the great condescension, yet is it not possible for us to fully grasp the infinity of the Son's stoop. If God "humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!" (Ps 113:6) how much more so to actually become "flesh" and be amongst the most lowly. He entered into an office which placed Him below God (John 14:28; 1 Co 11:3). He was, for a season, "made lower than the angels" (Heb 2:7); He was "made under the law" (Gal 4:4). He was made lower than the ordinary condition of man, for He was "a reproach of men, and despised of the people" (Ps 22:6). by : A. W. Pink -------------------- Shalom Azure |

Wew, more than a thousand pages on just the dietary laws!!!! What a burden for the Jews! Really too much...too much for me, as well! Only the Bible could spend my entire life to study it and I am still not sure if I could accomplish it - my top priority of study :-) How wonderfully blessed that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Happy New Year to you. Shalom Azure |

Dear Kcabm, I might have missed something since I do not have the time to go through all the posts on this thread. However, what I have read from your post (212434), are you saying that people in the OT is no way to be saved by grace through faith alone? If so, I see that you are quoting verses from the Book of Hebrews. I don't understand why you have the above notion if you have studied Hebrews. Shalom Azure |

391 | Why do I want to speak in tongues? | 1 Cor 13:1 | azurelaw | 212360
Dear flyman, 1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. 1 Cor 12:2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led. 1 Cor 12:3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 12:4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Cor 12:5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 1 Cor 12:6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 1 Cor 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 1 Cor 12:8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; 1 Cor 12:9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 1 Cor 12:10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. 1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually JUST AS HE WILLS. [Caps are my emphasis] Shalom Azure |

393 | Hebrews10:26-31 | Heb 10:26 | azurelaw | 212301
Dear crystal, In short, as I am running out of time. STUDY, MEDITATE what is the Gospel all about. What does it mean to you? What does Jesus' atonement mean to you? What does Jesus' propitiation of sin mean to you? Who is Jesus and what has he done for you? What is God's wrath and His judgement? What is the meaning of the cross?...OPEN YOUR BIBLE, STUDY, MEDITATE until you get the mirror of God to reflect who you exactly are...then after that, read and re-read John 3:16-18, Roman 5:6-11...to undestand His love and grace. Do it prayerfully until you are truly convicted of your sin by the power of the Holy Spirit that you kneel to the ground helplessly, crying out to God in trembling voice for His mercy and forgiveness. May the Holy Spirity worketh in your heart. Shalom Azure |

Dear flyman, I think, in order to better understand Luke 12:33, you would need to read the preceding chapter 11:42-53 that Jesus was rebuking the Pharisees who thought they were righteous in following the law for giving tithe. Note also v54 the conspiracy of the Pharisees. Then chapter 12 is depicting a picture of Jesus' teaching in contrasting the hypocrisy of the Pharisees in the preceding verses. That is the main concern of Jesus' teaching within the context, i.e. a portion of the forest. Hope the above is helpful. Shalom Azure |

398 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | azurelaw | 212258
Dear Kcabm, Your question: He then is sanctifying Himself so we will be also sanctified through the truth. Brother John has given you a fine answer. I would like to just add my 2 cents to the captioned question as I think the below verse are also helpful for you. Heb 2:16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. Heb 2:17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. Jesus did not only die for believers but He also lived for believers a perfect Holy life in order that we may be perfected in Him. Therefore, we must be abide in Him for apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Shalom Azure |

Dear Lionheart, my brother. I thank you for your kind words and grace that you have been showing to me. But one thing (or maybe something) that you don't know...I was so much convicted last night when I was listening an online sermon where the preacher (Paul Washer) urged the audience when we pray, we should understand it is the time that we seek and dwell in the presence of God like Jesus did when He got away from the crowd to spend the precious moment with God alone in the wilderness (Mark 1:35). Scripture did not provide what did He pray for...therefore, the emphasis was to have communion with God instead of bringing a list of request to Him. That is a healthy prayer life. Why I said it convicting to me? Earlier on in the morning yesterday after my devotional time, I tried to pray for those in need and I asked God to help me pray. However, what I found upsetting me was that my mind was blank and my heart was not zealous despite I plead for the Holy Spirit to move me...yet I lost this spiritual battle. It really troubled me and horrified me. But God disciplined me through the mouth of this godly man. Psalm 13 Shalom Azure |
