621 | Hereing from God | 1 John 3:22 | Val | 213290
Dear fwiaskycap, Sorry if I misunderstood you. I thought you did say that in your response to Doc. Here is your words: "Note: How can you say that hearing from God in a voice, or dream, or experience are for the "most", wrong. Just because you haven't experienced either one of those, that doesnt make you right. You are spreading hearsy. God's method in our lives may be different, but his character never changes. Your wrong brother, and anyone else to say that, God doesnt speak to us in dreams, or an audible voice anymore." |

Jeremiah 30:1 "The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Jer 30:2 "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Write all the words which I have spoken to you in a book. Jer 30:3 'For behold, days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah.' The LORD says, 'I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers and they shall possess it.'" Jer 30:4 Now these are the words which the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah: Jer 30:5 "For thus says the LORD, 'I have heard a sound of terror, Of dread, and there is no peace. Jer 30:6 'Ask now, and see If a male can give birth. Why do I see every man With his hands on his loins, as a woman in childbirth? And why have all faces turned pale? Jer 30:7 'Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of Jacob's distress, But he will be saved from it. Jer 30:8 'It shall come about on that day,' declares the LORD of hosts, 'that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves. Jer 30:9 'But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. Jer 30:10 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant,' declares the LORD, 'And do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar And your offspring from the land of their captivity. And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, And no one will make him afraid. Jer 30:11 'For I am with you,' declares the LORD, 'to save you; For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely. But I will chasten you justly And will by no means leave you unpunished.' Jer 30:12 "For thus says the LORD, 'Your wound is incurable And your injury is serious. Jer 30:13 'There is no one to plead your cause; No healing for your sore, No recovery for you. Jer 30:14 'All your lovers have forgotten you, They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the punishment of a cruel one, Because your iniquity is great And your sins are numerous. Jer 30:15 'Why do you cry out over your injury? Your pain is incurable. Because your iniquity is great And your sins are numerous, I have done these things to you. Jer 30:16 'Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity; And those who plunder you will be for plunder, And all who prey upon you I will give for prey. Jer 30:17 'For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the LORD, 'Because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion; no one cares for her."' Jer 30:18 "Thus says the LORD, 'Behold, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob And have compassion on his dwelling places; And the city will be rebuilt on its ruin, And the palace will stand on its rightful place. Jer 30:19 'From them will proceed thanksgiving And the voice of those who celebrate; And I will multiply them and they will not be diminished; I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant. Jer 30:20 'Their children also will be as formerly, And their congregation shall be established before Me; And I will punish all their oppressors. Jer 30:21 'Their leader shall be one of them, And their ruler shall come forth from their midst; And I will bring him near and he shall approach Me; For who would dare to risk his life to approach Me?' declares the LORD. Jer 30:22 'You shall be My people, And I will be your God.'" Jer 30:23 Behold, the tempest of the LORD! Wrath has gone forth, A sweeping tempest; It will burst on the head of the wicked. Jer 30:24 The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back Until He has performed and until He has accomplished The intent of His heart; In the latter days you will understand this. " NASB |

Revelation 7:1 “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. Rev 7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, Rev 7:3 saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads." Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel: Rev 7:5 from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand, Rev 7:6 from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand, Rev 7:7 from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand, Rev 7:8 from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed. Rev 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; Rev 7:10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." Rev 7:11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, Rev 7:12 saying, "Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen." Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?" Rev 7:14 I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev 7:15 "For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. Rev 7:16 "They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; Rev 7:17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes." 625 | who are the 144000 | Revelation | Val | 192121
These are verses showing the history of Israel and the promises made to them. They lead up to the Revelation passage which shows that it is to be taken literally. If you read them and meditate on them and then ask questions about it maybe that would be a good way to study it. I really am new and just getting a feel for studying this way. Again if you read the passages I cited and want to know more you might post those questions and you will get an assortment of views. I hope this helps.

627 | Interpretative Schools? | Rev 1:1 | Val | 204467
Continued The interpretative approach taken by this website regarding Revelation 4-22 is that these passages describe literal people, places and events that will be fulfilled in the future. As someone has well said "If the plain sense makes good sense seek no other sense lest it result in nonsense." Most of the resources on this page are espouse the futuristic view, but this fact does not necessarily mean that we agree with every comment in all of the resources. The wide divergence of interpretative views makes it imperative that the reader of the Revelation be a "true blue" Berean (Acts 17:11) and perform his or her own inductive study prior to consulting any commentary, tape set, web site or sermon, lest he or she become mired down in confusing rhetoric and specious speculation. The Revelation of Jesus Christ was written to edify, equip, encourage and bless God's children, not to hopelessly confuse or divide them. Maranatha! Preceptaustin.org |

I understand completely. We get our hope from Christ so its best to keep looking to Him rather than around at other people. People are people no matter where they are. Some are negative and some are not so negative. Personally I like the not so negative. Blessings, Val
634 | Is God opens doors no man closes in bibl | Rev 3:20 | Val | 205150
Your most welcome. In my study of Hebrews today I see that Abraham was looking for a heavenly home in these verses. Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. Heb 11:9 By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; Heb 11:10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. That can only be heaven. Can't wait to study it more. Blessings Val |

636 | Why call Christ "Lamb" in Rev 6:16 | Rev 6:16 | Val | 214081
Dear Kent, Using this verse I looked at the cross references for it and this verse was provided Phil 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, Phil 2:11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. I believe this verse refers to the time that everyone will give Christ the respect He deserves. I seem to remember that this does not mean that everyone is saved but that there will come a time when everyone will acknowledge Him for who He is. Sincerely, Val |

637 | no one was able? | Rev 15:8 | Val | 204154
Thank you for your clarification Thomas. This is how I study the bible. I study one book at a time. I find who the author is and who the recepient is. I find the author's purpose for writing. I find the theme of the book as well as the theme of each chapter and how they relate to the theme of the book. I am currently studying the book of Hebrews. Now your question is how do I relate what I see in Revelation about not entering the sanctuary to what I see in Hebrews to come boldly to the throne of grace. Ok upon my first impression I see that Revelation is talking about a future time period in my opinion. However, there is no time when we cannot come to the throne of grace as this is talking about prayer. Revelation I believe talks about judgment. It takes an in-depth study of both books to properly interpret them. When we do this some of our questions will fall into place. I do not fully understand the Revelation passage but one thing I do not do is read anything into it that is not there in the verse. I use Kay Arthur's How to Study your bible as well as her inductive study bible available from the Lockman Foundation. If I am following your question, you want to know if people can be saved during the time of judgement in Revelation. I believe the answer is yes. The whole purpose of the bible is the theme of Christ Jesus as the redeemer so anything in the plan of God is to accomplish that purpose.

Sticking with the Revelation text we see that Bablylon will be no more at that future point when this judgement takes place. Rev 18:21 Bablylon is Bablylon. I do not wish to debate further on this. Let us simply agree to disagree. |
