Colt, we are to submit to those who offer this free service. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. When a person, no matter who they are, differs on the clear meaning of scripture, it is our duty to defend. Again and again we have tried in a loving way to show you that your doctrine is historically incorrect. Lets just get back to our personal bible study and put off this line of comments until a later date won't you. I see no benefit in making personal attacks. Lets have peace now. Thank you

Right not all men are justified only those covered by the blood of Christ Jesus. Since you and I don't know who the elect are we must take the gospel to the ends of the earth don't you think. We will leave those who don't hear to the Most High God who is righteous in all His ways and character. Our part is to take His invitation to "Come to Jesus" in the power of the Holy Spirit. Would you agree?
404 | Is God opens doors no man closes in bibl | Rev 3:20 | Val | 205150
Your most welcome. In my study of Hebrews today I see that Abraham was looking for a heavenly home in these verses. Heb 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. Heb 11:9 By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; Heb 11:10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. That can only be heaven. Can't wait to study it more. Blessings Val |

Your most welcome. In my study today in Hebrews I came across an interesting couple of verses. They are Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, Heb 6:2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. I am excited to find out the context and purpose for these verses further in my study. Blessings - Val |

406 | Love sinner hate sin Part II | Ps 5:5 | Val | 205133
Thomas that is a very good question. What I would suggest is to get a concordance and look up the words God and Jesus to look specifically at their ways in regards to justice. Other words such as condemn and condemnation would show why people are condemned to hell. You might also do a word study on hate and love. First go to a concordance and see the verses used. Use a bible dictionary to help unearth meanings of words. I use Vines and Zodhiates. Our allegiance is to Christ Jesus and God the Father. We must be aware of evil, that is another good word to study. We are to walk in the Spirit so we are always attuned to Christ and who we are to help and who would do us harm. Blessings Val
407 | Help! Unclean vs clean meat? | Acts | Val | 205130
Yes I think the clarity must come in for the reasons why one would follow the Torah (Law). The law is good for such things as health and morality. When it is bad is when people, not saying you, but people in general, condemn others for eating ham and snakes and other unclean things. Also when it is bad is when people try to be saved or another phrase is right with God or another go to heaven by keeping the law. The way to heaven is through Christ Jesus. We bring our sins to him before salvation and He cleans us of our sins. We are given His holy Spirit to help us be holy as He is holy. Holy in our walk by obeying His commandments and all that He says. All that we say and do is to glorify Him. The law was given to Israel when they came out of Egypt. It showed them how they should treat one another with respect. We still need to keep the moral laws. The ritual laws were fulfilled in Christ. He is our sacrifice for sin.- Blessings Val

Also, just a note, the people of Israel were not referred to as "Jews" until the NT. In the old testament they are called Israel. In the New Testament there are several people groups called "Jews" as well such as the religious leaders, scribes, pharasees, common people, Sadducees, Christ was called King of the Jews, the disciples were Jews. The first christians were Jews- 120 of them though that name christian did not appear until the church at Antioch was formed. The church was established first by Jews on the day of pentacost with Peter's proclamation of Christ and 3,000 or 4,000 believed. Christ has always had a remnant. The believers in the old testament looked forward to the cross and believed God for the Messiah. You and I look back to the cross and believe Christ the Messiah. We all come to God the same way by believing that He is and that what He says will come to pass. Thank you for letting me share with you. Blessings - Val |

Azure, Also I understand that these laws also set Israel apart from the other nations around them. Believe they are a picture of God's people. Just as today we are to be set apart from the world as God's people. They were different and today we are to be different. Be holy as I am holy. I agree with your cleanliness post. These sanitation laws help kept them alive. Third world countries would probably benefit from these procedures to keep waste out of the food and water supply. Blessings Val |

Thomas, it is essential that we look at each of these verses in context. To do that it is necessary to read each of these books. Also a study on Jeremiah and Zechariah - God's prophets is essential. Understanding these books and their themes takes quite a bit of time and focused attention. It is well worth it though as they were written for our learning. No matter how much we learn from other people we must also be willing first to study the scriptures for ourselves. Prayer, scripture, a concordance, a bible dictionary and after all this then commentaries. Blessings Val

Thanks John. I am thinking of all the things we have "In Him" in Colossians 2. Paul warns us in his verse Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. I am thankful for the history of the Christian church. Those who have studied and came together on the basic tenents of our faith. Blessings Val |

Dear Jim, Bible students may sincerely differ on some doctrinal issues. In the case of "Soul Sleep" (or Conditional Immorality) it is our position that the doctrine contradicts the balanced survey of New Testament teachings, and especially the Words of Jesus. - Tal Davis, NAMB, SBC, Website 4truth.net |

Another key event wherein Jesus' words contradict Soul Sleep is when He spoke to the repentant thief on the cross (see Luke 23:39-43). Following the thief's confession and appeal to Him for mercy, Jesus answered, "Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." This statement begs the question of the Soul Sleep position. What did Jesus mean by "today you will be with me." if the thief would have no conscious life when he died? Some have argued that translators have misrepresented the passage by placing a comma between the word "you" and "today." Their view is that since the original Greek text had no punctuation it could just as well correctly be read, "Truly I say to you today, you will be with me in Paradise" (a promise of the resurrection). This interpretation seems unlikely, however. Jesus used the phrase "Truly I say to you" many times as recorded in the Gospels as a validation of His divine authority. In no instance did He ever attach to it any temporal conditionality such as "today." Clearly the term "today" in the context was to be attached to the promise--that day the thief would be with Jesus in Paradise. - Tal Davis, NAMB, SBC, Website 4truth.net
