3402 | Rebuild a Temple? | Rev 11:1 | Searcher56 | 78733
Did Jesus talk about Daniel's prophecy in the future tense, since He used the word, "WHEN"? It is impossible for the "when" to be in the past. You said "The 1290 days and the 1335 days don’t fit in Matthew 24:15" ... therefore, I clearly see that what He was talking about our future. Plus, did any Roman came into the Temple to declare himself to be (a) god? I believe he would have been killed there, or when he returned to Rome. I have proven my point again ... you have no defense about the "when" ... by your own words. |

3403 | Pick prophcies we want, ignore others? | Rev 11:1 | Searcher56 | 80021
Word study ... shamem/kanaph eremosis/pterux ... Taleb ... Is "ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION" (Matt 24:15) the same as "wing of abominations" (Dan 9:27) ... that is is desolation the same as wing? Desolation is shamem (Hebrew) eremosis (Greek) Wing is kanaph (Hebrew) pterux(Greek) While they could be related by abomination, I do not see the two being exactly the same. So what if commentaries match Matthew 24:15 with Daniel 9:27. |

3409 | "Babylon the Mother of False Religions" | Rev 17:5 | Searcher56 | 76238
Yes, it is. It is not legalist to be concerned about how His name is abused. It is part of our culture's normal language ... most do not care. But, if we would abuse Allah'a, Buddah's name, for example ... their followers would not tolerate it. We need to do what God wants and teach people what is correct, with tact. I believe I have. I also believe you need to ask for forgiveness ... most of all from God. Searcher |

Mommapbs, Galatains 6:1-2 does apply. Tact is needed. There are words that we have heard and use ... but we don't know they are offensive to some. While we could use other expressions ... I don't think they are needed ... they are just extra words. Searcher |

3413 | a list of the prophetic symbols | Rev 17:15 | Searcher56 | 72554
Scripture ... Rev 16:4-5, 19:6 ... David, I commend your study ... continue to search Scripture. Revelation 17:1, 15 is the only place where the sea or waters (NASB) Hudor (Strong's 5204) where it says it is "peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues". One could say the 19:6 also applies ... but there is mighty thunderings also. My point is that in the other figurative references do not imply "people, nations, multitudes and tongues" fits. Therefore, to say it does is not always correct. Others have tried to say sea/waters mean "people, nations, multitudes and tongues" ... all I need to do is to show one case where what they is is wrong. Now from the NASB ... Rev 16:4-5 "And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of water s; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the water s say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus." Rev 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many water s, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. When you study, forget all you have read what man has said ... and start afresh, with an Interlinear Bible and lexicon. Then compare what man said to see if what they said is so (Acts 17:11). 3414 | a list of the prophetic symbols | Rev 17:15 | Searcher56 | 72568
Scripture ... John 3:5, 4:10-15; Eph 5:26; 1Jo 5:8 ... Let us review ... Rev. 19:6 actually compares the voices of a multitude with the "great waters" AND "mighty thunders" ... so ... does it mean that "mighty thunders" are also a symbol of people? ... how are the "great waters" and "mighty thunders" related? More examples if figurative water: John 3:5 "Jesus answered, 'Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.' Eph 5:26 "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word" 1Jo 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." If you don't like these (including ones previously cited), read John 4:10-15. Is Jesus talking about literal water? Searcher |

3417 | Who is the Bride of the Lamb? | Rev 19:9 | Searcher56 | 239254
Doc, I understand the use and misuse of metaphors. That was not my point. I have been taught the metaphor of the "bride of the Lamb", is the church. In my current study, it didn't make sense. I looked at all Scripture to see what it says. What that who do you believe the metaphor "bride of the Lamb" is ... and why? S |

3418 | Who is the Bride of the Lamb? | Rev 19:9 | Searcher56 | 239258
Doc In 2 Corinthians 11:2 is Paul himself being joined (harmozo) to the Corinthian church, not about being about to be married. It is not about Christ being betrothed (joined) to the church. . In Ephesians 5, I already pointed out that is a problem. The woman is under the head of her father and being subject to him during the betrothal period. The verbs here are in the present tense and in Revelation are in the future. In Ephesians 5 it is to show the comparison of the role of the husband-wife and Christ-church … but not about His being married or betrothed to the church. That is carrying the metaphor too far. Another metaphor is John says that the bride of the Lamb is New Jerusalem (Rev 21:2). I now believe we believers of all time are the invited guests and I will let God tell us who the bride is. S |

3419 | Do they who reign live 900 years? | Rev 20:1 | Searcher56 | 224892
God's day to you, sonofmom and welcome to the SBF, Revelation 20:4 says it who reign 1000 years, they will live forever based on verses 5-6 ... they are part of the first resurrection. Notice who will reign with Him. It is a limited number (3 qualifications). Revelation 20:4 "Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those 1. who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and 2. those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and 3. had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; ... and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years." Verse 5 continues "The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection." And verse 6 "Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years."
