241 | how to handle controlling attitudes | Phil 2:5 | Searcher56 | 215444
God's evening to you, sista Donna, Let God be in control and listen to others. There is need for unity and even the leaders need to not wanting to be in complete control (Eph 4). The Holy Spirit gives us the spiritual gifts He wants us to have. He even adds gifts or changes and takes them away. We each have one or more gifts (1Co 12). We should never let the gifts control us. 244 | What is worship supposed to be like? | Ps 43:4 | Searcher56 | 215244
God's day to you, keliy Did you know the word for worship in John 4 is proskuneo which means to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence. It means we need to think of Him as the One who absolute control over us. While not Catholic, I picture kissing the Pope's ring. One doesn't sing, do service or anything else. It would be hard to do anything but worship, since it can detract. In the Hebrew it is shachah ... to bow down. Note 13 times in Revelation worship (proskuneo) of God appears ... yet to we pratice it today, or have our knees grown stiff. Searcher Searcher |

248 | Banker are sinner or not | Deut 23:19 | Searcher56 | 215142
Scripture ... Exo 22:25-27; Lev 25:35-37; Deu 15:7-11, 23:9-10; Neh 5:7-12; Luk 6:34-35 ... God's day to you, Rajeeb, I commend you for reading the Bible. The passages I cited deal with charging Israelites interest to Israelites. Some say these passages are only for them. If we would apply it to another country or even Christians, I am not sure who would be a banker/lender. Plus, we could not charge (or get) interest on money we have in the bank. One reason it would be tough to be a banker is because Leviticus 25:8-54, says in the Year of Jubilee, all debts are forgiven. So you may hold their property, they owe you money ... but when the Year of Jubilee comes around you need to give it back. I believe September 2018 – September 2019 is the next Year of Jubilee. Deuteronomy 23:20 says Israelites could charge interest to foreigners. We need to be careful to pick which Law to (dis)obey. Searcher |

249 | speaking in tounges | 1 Cor 12:30 | Searcher56 | 215141
God's day to you John, It is possible that the interpeter doesn't know the tongue either. Remember it is a spiritual, not natural, gift. A man went into a church and was granted permission to speak in a tongue. I quoted John 3:16, in Greek. Then another stood up and interpeted ... something else. The first man then got up and said that is not what he said. A member of the church, who was a Greek prof, got up and agreed with the first man and said he quoted John 3:16, in Greek. Not all churches who have one person speak in a tongue, then have it interpeted, are genuine. Searcher |

God's day to you, Justme, In John 3, Jesus talked about spiritual birth, which happens when we believe. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2Co 5:17). It doesn't happen when we phyiscally die ... or did I misunderstand you? God's day to you, Julia Marie, Question 2. You said "We are not able to pray at all times in our own dialect, we would run out of things to pray about but when you recieve the baptism of the Holy Ghost, you are then able to PRAY AT ALL TIMES!!!" ... I have never run out of things to pray about, neither have those who prayed for hours a day. ...If I pray in different dialect, I say the same words. ... God's day to you, Prajakta, Enter John 19:28 next to Questions/Notes on Verse (on the top), to see other posts. 1. Jesus knew that all things had already been accomplished ... which means all Scripture concerning His life and suffering. 2. To fulfill the Scripture, said, "I am thirsty." ... which may refer to Psalm 69:21. Then after He drank (vs 29), He gave the Victory Cry (vs 30). It could be that He wanted to project His voice more. A parched throat would mean His voice wouldn't be heard very far. Searcher |

260 | what is the river of water in Ezekiel 47 | Matt 4:19 | Searcher56 | 214758
God's day to you, John, Do not accept what anyone says/ writes at face value. I look at the context, Ezekiel 40-48, which includes the Mellinium Temple. Gill is forcing Scripture and doesn't make sense. The context includes Zechariah who also tells about the river, and it is reasonable to believe this is not what Gill says ... for this verse.
