| The righteousness of the saints will cause an anger from the self righteous. Thus the wheat is clearly separated from the tares. Tares grow in the same field (church setting) as the true wheat. The time of the harvest reveals the true from the false. The true will have the fruit of the Spirit. The wheat and tares parable is not about sinners vs saints but rather saints and the “so called saints”... or hypocrites. Not living what they say they believe in. Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Cain was angry when he was not recieved. His works were not according to God’s HOLY demands. Note that when Christ came and visited the 7 churches of Revelation, each time He said “I know thy works”... Not once did He say I see your heart! Paul knew the truth - James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. |

teregram123, I hear what you're saying. I have done a major study on the parable of the wheat and the tares. I've broke it all down into the original language (greek). Actually it was on Matthew 13, which has many parables. On Microsoft word, I am on page 90, and I am still not down with the chapter. Oh, what an enlightenment. Faith and works go hand in hand. One has to have faith for as to do the works. Faith in whom you trust. In Matt.7:20, the word fruit is translated as NT:2590 karpos (kar-pos); probably from the base of NT:726; fruit (as plucked), literally or figuratively: KJV - fruit. NT:726 harpazo (har-pad-zo); from a derivative of NT:138; to sieze (in various applications): KJV - catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force NT:138 haireomai (hahee-reh-om-ahee); probably akin to NT:142; to take for oneself, i.e. to prefer: KJV - choose. Some of the forms are borrowed from a cognate hellomai (hel-lom-ahee); which is otherwise obsolete. NT:142 airo (ah-ee-ro); a primary root; to lift up; by implication, to take up or away; figuratively, to raise (the voice), keep in suspense (the mind), specially, to sail away (i.e. weigh anchor); by Hebraism [compare OT:5375] to expiate sin: KJV - away with, bear (up), carry, lift up, loose, make to doubt, put away, remove, take (away, up). OT:5375 nasa (naw-saw); or nacah (Ps 4:6 [OT:7]) (naw-saw'); a primitive root; to lift, in a great variety of applications, literal and figurative, absol. and rel. Very interesting, Huh? I know this is a deep subject. But as regarding faith and works. The translation for faith in these verses is- James 2:20 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? KJV James 2:26-3:1 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. KJV NT:4102 pistis (pis'-tis); from NT:3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: KJV - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. NT:3982 peitho (pi'-tho); a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): KJV - agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.
