| I have a friend that has four sons and wants a daughter desperately. She is able to have more children but does not want to take a chance of having another son. She is confused about adopting a daughter and is not sure that God would honor it. What does the Bible say about adoption in a case like this? | ||||||

| Tchideckel The Bible does not speak to this exact situation. However James 1:27 says pure religion or faith before God is visiting the orphans in the their time of need. What better way to visit an orphan in a time of need than to provide that orphan a mother and father. I guess the couple your talking about is Christian. If so how much better to adopt a young child to give it life here on earth but also to raise it believing in Christ so that child will also have a life in eternity! As for their motive, who knows perhaps when they seek out their daughter God will place boys need in their heart. Also the scripture says God gives us the desires of our heart. Most read this to mean God gives us what we desire, I believe it is saying once we become God’s God places the desires in our heart. God will, will be done. EdB |
