| Hello glamor gal, I believe the reasons that Jesus prayed can be found within scripture. Partially, it could be said that he prayed from necessity (to do and seek the will of the Father), but certainly not for pleasure. Luke 22:41b-42 - "He knelt down and began to pray, saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." (NASB) John 5:30- "I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." (NASB) John 6:38- "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." (NASB) You would be commended to seek the example of prayer as set forth by the Lord in Matt. 6:9-13 and the true Lords' Prayer of John 17:1-26. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
