1 Ninevah's Repentance Relevant to Today? Jon 3:5 dalida 62351
What is the significance of this reference to the church today? Here is a city of sinful wicked people, whom God (someone they don't even know)announces he's going to destroy. They chose to believe! Does this story have relevence to the church today in a call deeper, proactive faith? If so, how?
2 Ninevah's Repentance Relevant to Today? Jon 3:5 meusing 62362
The whole point is that God did not want to destroy Nineveh. he sent Jonah to tell them to repent so that he would not have to destroy them.

The church today is the body of Christ holding out the sign "Repent" We need to be in touch with our head (Christ) so that we can so live as to draw those who are sinners to repentance. They need to see Jesus in us, and hear the Word of the Lord so that the Holy Spirit can work in their hearts.

We can not just sit by the side of the road making daisy chains while the rest of the world goes over the cliff of destruction.
