1 Hoshea turned to Egypt for help Is 31:1 InGodsWill 83486
Hoshea was Israel's last king. He reigned 9 years and refused to pay tribute to Assyria. This paying of tribute had started during the reign of Menahem. Hoshea's predecessor . Hoshea turned to Egypt for help at a time when Egypt was in no position to help . I need help in explaining what happened as a result (2king 17-5-18) thanks
2 Hoshea turned to Egypt for help Is 31:1 Mommapbs 83487
Greetings! The key to understanding this passage and applying it to our own lives is that Hoshea did not look to the Lord for direction first!

Any time we turn to something or someone other than God to find value, meaning purpose, direction etc. . . we are in rebellion and disobedient.

See Ex 20:3 and Dt 11:16
