| I saw some people laid down their body(just like sleeping) in the aisle while praise and worship. I don't know how to call it in English. A pastor said those people were knocked down by the Spirit. I can only found this verse relevant. I assume "could not stand" means "being knocked down" | ||||||

| Ivory 313, what you are describing as a spiritual knock down is merely one of the more bizarre trappings staged to gain attention by the charaltans who appear with disturbing frequency at "healing" meetings and eventually worm their way into our homes via the electronic tube. One would be hard pressed indeed to justify these shenanigans by even a trace of Scripure, properly interpreted. We are commanded to do everything decently and in order. The demonstrations such as you have mentioned are neither. --Hank | ||||||

| Greetings Hank! For the first time that I know of I have to disagree with you. I know many people who have been "slain in the spirit" numerous times. It was not a staged act. The only way I know of to describe it is that the Holy Spirit comes upon you so strongly that it puts you in a trance-like state. It can last for seconds to minutes. I will agree, however, that many on TV are staged as well as some in church, how many though only God knows. I will try to get you the scripture back up. agape, prayon | ||||||

| Prayon, I have no problem at all with your taking a stance that may be at least in part different from mine. At least we agree, I believe, that there are many fakes and frauds out their hawking their wares, whether it be on the issue of the manner in which the Spirit manifests Himself in the lives of human beings or on some quite different issue. Your courteously voiced disagreement with me on this particular issue in to way diminishes the high esteem in which I have held you for so long. --Hank | ||||||
