23 | Why the bible says 7 days instead of 6? | Gen 2:2 | you | 235886
You might look at 7268 with a Sabbath definition posted by kalos. You can see in the Amplified Bible that it says God ended his work on the seventh day. Searcher56 noted this issue in 229563. You can see commentaries at http://bible.cc/genesis/2-2.htm . I found an interpretation, that I don't expect anyone to accept, but does make God's resting real without the universe disappearing. It is on a page of the www.youngisrael.org website with this attestation: 2 October 2010 / 24 Tishri 5771 Daf Yomi: Avoda Zarah 49 "G-d Give Me A Break" Parshas Breisheet Rabbi Brahm Weinberg - Young Israel of West Hartford Rav Shimon Schwab in Maayan Beis Hashoeva explains the depth of Rashi’s statement and, consequently, of G-d’s creation of menucha. 'Rav Schwab asks why creation would have been incomplete without menucha? ... the world and all that was created could not have continued to exist on its own if not for Hashem’s constant involvement with it at every second. ... By resting on the Shabbos, by creating a concept of menucha what Hashems actually doing was created an opportunity for the world to continue to exist even when He ceased to be involved in its new creation; ... He is involved in the creation every day, He does sustain the creation everyday, but is not recreating it new from scratch every day.' |

Peoples heart's shouldn't be judged by their eschatology, such as dispensationalism. We may know someone currently by their fruits, such as loving one another. We ought to be careful not to be pronouncing a final judgement though.

Do you consider Rev 1:8 as an expansion of the Septuagint's "ego eimi o On" in Ex 3:14? Who is "the Alpha and the Omega" and what is it's significance? Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 22:12 "Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. Rev 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Rev 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Arguments about the trinity are not allowed by TOU. Gen 1:26 is a verse some people use for finding the trinity in the Hebrew scriptures. There are other ways to interpret that verse but it does say "let us make" otherwise Jewish translations wouldn't say it.

In Gen 1:26 and Neh 5:18 you have two words that look the same except for cantillation marks. So they would be pronounced almost the same except for accentuation. Davidson's first parsing and the one I gave from Beal are singular plural. This parsing is easy to find in a I-Guttural verb chart. Based on context of the rest of the verse you decide this is the right parsing for Gen 1:26. Davidson's second parsing applies to Neh 5:18. Beal says this a "niph ptc ms" on page 379.
