21 | self-righteous and Truth | Prov 21:2 | talmid | 156394
I would like to add to that from Heb 8:11. Many would have experienced that God teaches us? If we "see" something which is wrong in others, we must have faith that the same God who teaches me can teach them too. It is God's business to judge and not ours. The best intentions of man (this itch to correct others), are often full of folly.
22 | self-righteous and Truth | Prov 21:2 | talmid | 156388
When I hold fast on to what I think is right, then it is my self righteousness that drives it. What is right according to God may be different from what I think is right. It takes diligent heart to seek, learn and become experienced in knowing what God's righteousness is.

James 3:1 - My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. James 1 - My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Be faithful in your trials, your life will help to lead others without you opening your mouth. |

1 John 2:15 - Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. Psalm 118:6 - The LORD is on my side;I will not fear. What can man do to me? Mathew 6:25,26 - “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? There are 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 1 Tim 6:9-11 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. There are many more verses that helped me while I was a student and have laid a solid foundation for me... they continue to perfect me even now. |

27 | How I do to stop sinning? | Bible general Archive 1 | talmid | 81531
Dear John. I was reading that portion from 1 John. It was good! Thanks for sharing! I also wish that my joy may be full. Verse 6 says "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth" So if we sin, we are in darkness....a pathetic place to be.... But the next verse is a mystery! "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." So if we walk in the light (ie, without committing sin), then Jesus will cleanse us from all sin that is inside us. So that we can be free of committing "active sin" (i read this word earlier). Verse 10 - yes I have commited sin in the past. If I deny that, then I make God a liar, and say that I don't need any salvation....there is nothing wrong with me......no no...i won't do that! I know the things wrong with me. Verse 8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." This is very true. I know that there is sin within me, trying to manifest itself when I am tempted. I may, for instance, be in comma. I may not do anything externally. But I have the potential to commit sin, when I come out of the comma. Something like, if I get the right opportunity i have the potential to sin. I hope that God will give me more light and help me to live a life without any sin...absolutely nothing. I long for that life. |

hi itiswritten. I was a bit sad to read what you wrote. You wrote "While we are in the flesh, I do not believe we can walk totally sinless." That was very sad to read. Is it really true? I thought that it is not what is written. Jesus did it! He was in the flesh just like us (Hebrews). He overcame sin in the flesh and became full of grace and truth. It was a life that John says, he could touch and handle. So tangible! Later on Paul, Peter, John all came to that kind of a life. The life of Jesus...the we stop from sinning. I was hoping that I would meet people here who also experience this power in their daily life, so that I could learn from them. |

It's good to hear from you Cyclist! Makes me also glad to see you joy. May God bless you. Cyclist, you wrote abot Gal 5:19-21. Is it true for you that you say honestly..."In my heart, I don't get angry, I don't envy, etc. etc. " You may not practice it outside....but in your heart, how is it with you? Reminds me of a Psalm in which it says somethign like "Let the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you"....Is it so with you dear Cyclist? |

30 | How I do to stop sinning? | Bible general Archive 1 | talmid | 81525
Thanks graceful for writing. I have not quite clearly understood it. Is it this way - I reckon myself dead to sin. Even after I reckon myself I still do active sin! Then I must recognise the sin I have done and repent of it? Hmmm. But that doesn't help me to be free of sin! I still continue to sin. Again, when you said "Jesus Christ's finished work" are you talking about He forgiving us after we have sin? I believe that I will receive forgiveness, but yet I not able to "go and sin no more". How do I acknowledge that liberty? Especially when I don't have that liberty (that I don't sin at all!) |

34 | 2 Corinthians- What is 'suffering' | 2 Cor 1:5 | talmid | 80979
Gracefull, Thanks for the post. Just wanted to discuss little more..... Heb 2:10 - For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 14, 15 - Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death... 18 - For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. From this i understand that.. He was made just like us...facing the same temptations that we faced, But He did not sin. Even though he *suffered* being tempted He did not sin, because He chose to be obedient to the Spirit. "...through death He might destroy him..." this death is not physical death, isn't it? I should say something like..."death to sin"....meaning no more sinning. Something we also can achieve, given the fact that we also are given the same Spirit.......Having been perfected, He is perfecting His brothers...So that we also can be totally free of sin and thus be partaker of the ressurrection also. Isn't it? |

Isaiah 53:10 - Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief..... That was Jesus... Hebrews 5:8 - though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. John 1:12 - But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. We can accept everything as from a loving father, thank Him and be at rest. |

God will lead us and teach us...the "fallacy" of a translation does not hinder Him. John 14:26 - But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. |

40 | why do we sin when sin has no mastery? | Bible general Archive 1 | talmid | 80835
What then is the hope of the gospel? John 14:30 - I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. So it's possible to reach a point, when we cannot be tempted. |
