Ok Doc. - I fully agree. I just don't like comments made without posing a question from scripture or giving a scripture reference. If anyone on the board has an issue they should ask a direct question - instead of making general comments. I have been accused of promoting a certain view about diet and the Sabbath but unfortunately I have been providing scripture. It always comes down to "reasoning" as Paul demonstrated in the NT. We were all given a brain to reason. The problem comes when we let our pride get in front of truth. In love, Merv |

Hank: We are all free to add "notes" or pose "questions". I welcome your responses but let us try to keep it to scriptural issues. This was your first comment on this string and it is all about me. I would rather discuss issues and if you are not interested I would look somewhere else in the forum to make your comments. I feel my comments fall within the guidelines. But we all have our own opinion. Here is a question: Do you think God - Himself (Ex.31:18)- writing the 10 commandments on the (2) tablets has any correlation to the 10 commandments being summarized by Jesus into (2) broad commandments. The commandments written by God regarding our relationship to Him on 1 tablet and the commandments written by God regarding our relationship to our neighbours written on 1 tablet. The point here is the NT does not re-invent the law but instead repeats the moral law (10 comm.) of the OT. Is.42:21 clearly says Christ would magnify the law. And Ps. 40:7,8 says Jesus delights to do the will of God and thy law is within Jesus's heart. That is why He led a Perfect life on earth and therefore died a sinless man and paying our debt. The law written on our hearts as part of the NT covenant is the same as the law written on Jesus's heart. This is the 10 commandments. The same moral law Abraham was keeping (Gen. 26:5) prior to any written law at Sinai. Look forward to your comments. In love, Merv |

Dear Doc: "I will be the first to admit pride if I ignore scripture that is clear. But scripture must be reasoned and put in context. Many positions held are in error because people do not reason and "prove all things". I did not say Kalos was prideful. I was generally saying that pride can get in the way of honest and true reasoning. I do not intend to personalize any of my comments. Kalos made a general comment that someone was not providing verses on a certain percentage of notes. I think this is wrong. If you have an issue with a response - then ask a direct question instead of - in my opinion - getting personal by putting down a person's general way of responding. Again, I think this is a great forum and I completely enjoy the feedback and topics discussed. But being direct on asking questions or giving feedback is much better than trying to make personal attacks. We should all respect the views of others and if we wish to not respond directly to scriptural issues - then we should reflect the commands of God. I will be the first now to apologize if I have not followed this advice and will strive to do so in the future. In search of the truth, Merv |
