22 | I'm not sure what you are trying to ask | Col 3:17 | prayer warrior | 31975
remember also that Jesus spoke to the theif on the cross, and told him this day will you be with me in paradise. Luke 23:42-43the theif on the cross wasn't baptised by water. He received salvation on the cross.

I do believe that also, but I don't know what a protestant is, I am not called to be a protestant, or any other name. I am a CHRISTIAN, called unto salvation of my Lord Jesus. We are all called to be Christ like. To strive to be like Him, not a denomination. Thank you. and God Bless |

24 | Can salvation be lost due to actions? | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31753
No, I don't believe in works saving a person, you all misunderstood my statement, I know my salvation comes from my Lord Jesus, and from Him alone, All I am saying is the when a christian sins, and sometimes they do, they have to accept responsiablity for their actions by confessing their sin. Keeping a right relationship with Jesus is important. I must apoloigize to you all. Somehow I was misunderstood. I didn't save my self, and never could. I was dieng and on my way to hell when Jesus called me unto salvation. It seems, that you all think I said, I saved my self, by living right. I am sorry if I gave that impression, it was not ever meant to be conceived that way. Let me explain by giving the verses I base my beliefs on. I believe in ALL the bible and what it says. James 2:18,20 v18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. v20 But,wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? This, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, is what I have been trying to say, but, said it wrong, as I do at times. God requires us to live a Holy life, and through His strength we can, as stated in Phillipians 4:13 v13 says I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I must say you all are well up on your studies, and I can see you all have passion for Jesus Christ our Lord. I thank you all for the direction you have given, and it was appreciated, for I can see that your love for others in seen, by your response, to try to correct, what you thought, was a christian in error. John 3:16 is very dear to me and believe me I know all that he suffered, and did so that I may receive salvation. Again, thank you and God Bless. |

25 | please, two part question, need more | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31680
I guess the biggest reason I asked the question to begin with is that, my pastor was telling us about a friend of his who was a christian and pastor for 11 years. Well the pastor got angry with God and refuses to have anything to do with God. it has now been years and still the man says he wants nothing to do with God or anything dealing with him or his Name. So from what i understand everyone to be saying is this man whos says he hates God and would rather go to hell than heaven to be with God, is going to be forced to go to heaven? The man was saved, was baptised, filled contuinally with the Holy Ghost and lived the christian life for eleven years. That is no doubt. He was a fervent Christian, serving Christ with much love. so in saying all that I am going to end this discussion on this topic, I hope that I offended no one. I always pray, that I be wise as a serpent and harmless as doves. Lets just agree that we disagree. and leave it at that. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God bless and again thank you all for your imput. |

26 | Can salvation be lost due to actions? | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31650
yes, to think that some one would think that just because they have been given the precious gift of salvation, that they have a license to sin. I can't understand why they would believe their sin would be excused when they don't repent. We all have to except responsiability for our actions. Repentance is a big part of Gods word. Thank you all for the discussions.
27 | Can salvation be lost due to actions? | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31647
I firmly believe that when a christian, sins, they have broken fellowship with God, God can not look on sin. If you don't repent of your sins then you can't receive forgiveness. If you don't recieve forgiveness for your sins, and the christian dies physically. They have died in sin. Matt.10:32 tells us whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But,whosoever shall deny me before men, will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Breaking fellowship to contune in sin are breaking fellowship and denying God's will. denying God. Matt.7:17-23 A parable about two trees, right, Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, consistently, while a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit contuinally. therefore, the normal and consistent production of fruit, whether good or evil, in a person's life will bear evidence whether or not that life is of God. verse 19 shows the unfruitfull life of the unregenerate who is cast into the fire, which we know is the picture of Hell. Not everyone professing to be a christian is genuinely saved. Even the outward statement of God's Lordship over their lives, in it self is not enough to save the unbeliever apart from true repentence and faith. A genuinely saved person is one that doeth the will of the Father, the greek present tense is suggesting that he is contuinually living in obedience to the will of God in their christian walk for the rest of their life. No I don't believe in salvation by works, it is by grace we are saved. Jesus is the only door. but He also says faith without works is dead. in Matt 10:22 Jesus said he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Eze.3:20. The righteous deeds are remembered no more. |

28 | please, two part question, need more | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31614
Thank you Hank, I did some research on this today scripture Eze. 3:20 as well as looking at root meaning of each word. Matt 7:22, and Eze. 18:20. pretty well answered it for me. Salvation is a work in progress, the righteous person must maintain their walk. Once saved always saved is only saved if you keep your walk. No one can take you out of Gods hands but you can, by contuining to sin. After all He does say if we contuine in sin we are none of His. Repentance has to be there, once dead, it is to late. Thank you for your help and God bless you and this group. Don't struggle to stand, struggle to stay kneeling, till He leads you to stand on His will, and word.
29 | please, two part question, need more | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31596
Hank, No, not really. Are there any other scriptures to complete the meaning behind dieing in sin, that states the righteous person can die in sin and still go to heaven? I mean they do have to repent before death, right?
30 | Can salvation be lost due to actions? | Ezek 3:18 | prayer warrior | 31587
this is the way I under stood it. From the Beginning of Salvation a persons sins are no longer rememberd by God right! So if a person chose to turn away from God and enter back into sin. With out repenting, God remebers no more there righteous deeds. From then on all He sees is sin, not salvation. If a person dies physically before he repents, he dies with out forgiviness. No sinner can enter into heaven. and a dead person can't ask for forgivines after he or she is dead.
