81 | May I ask | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46266
Sorry if I offended you about the fear thing. I was just taking your words and responding to them. Glad to know you fear no man and reverence our Father. Does scripture teach that the suffering of his children brings glory to GOD our Father? If so, I have no other choice but to believe that 'the suffering the young woman experienced was a means by which God glorified Himself'. I know the bible talks about the sufferings that Jesus went thru and it talks about the fellowship of his sufferings. I just have to find those and read them to see if they indeed support the statement that 'suffering brings GOD glory'. If you know of scriptures that support the above statement, please share. Thanks for your quick response. Oh, btw, that's Sister MBooker :) |

82 | Question | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46268
'However again I believe it has to serve God’s purpose to heal them. Each healing in the Bible had a purpose. All showed the glory and power of God. In the New Testament most were to validate either Jesus or his apostles' I have a few questions. 1. We still have sick people in the world as they did in the gospels accounts. If the purpose of the healings showed the glory and power of Abba Father, does scripture say we can no longer see the glory and power of Abba Father thru healings like the ones performed in the gospels? 2. If most of the healings were to validate Jesus and his apostles, is it unscriptural for Jesus to be validated today thru signs and wonders (which include healing)? Some may never read the bible, so why can't we be living letters(doing signs and wonders) and maybe, just maybe, they will believe on our Father because of those signs and wonders. |

83 | Greetings Searcher | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46387
Thanks for the scriptures Searcher. John 5:2-3 tells of a great multitude that lay in the 5 porches. John 5:6 tells me that 'Jesus saw him lie'. It doesn't not say 'He saw the multitude'. The reason I point this out is because in other places in scripture, it tells us that Jesus saw the multitute and healed them: But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Matt 12:15 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. Matt 14:14 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them: Matt 15:30 ***************** I agree that if someone does not get healed, that does not invalidate Abba Father, the Lord that heals. ***************** How do we reconcile Mark 13:22 (false Christs and false prophets showing signs and wonders) with Mark 16:17 'And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover'? False Christs and false prophets shall show signs and wonders but they that believe shall have signs following them. I would really love to devle into this one so that I can learn how to discern whether false Christs and prophets or those that believe are showing the signs and wonders. Was Jesus rebuking the man when he said 'Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe'? The next thing Jesus says is 'Go your way, your son lives'. Did Jesus WANT this man to believe and thus he said 'your son lives' and the son lived? Also, I was not saying that I persay wants signs and wonders. I already believe in the Lord my GOD. I was just saying that if the Chruch as a whole exhibited the power that Christ did while he was here, would the unbelievers become believers? questions, questions, questions. I am full of them! :) Hope you are able to lend more scriptures to enlighten. Abba Father bless and keep you. |

84 | First Question | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46477
Hey Brother John If we could, I'd like to take this one point at a time. If that's ok with you, here's my first question. Mark 16:17 caused you a great deal of trouble because you never saw it fulfilled in the lives of saints today. If you had seen it fulfilled in the lives of saints today, do you think your views would be different? I too wonder when I see something in scripture but then I don't see it in the lives of believers. Or the way I like to say it: 'When my life does not line up with scripture'. When my life does not line up with scripture, does that mean 'it's not GOD's will' or 'that went away with the early church'? I do not believe so. I have heard that explaination before, 'that went away with the early church'. I want to be sure I am not making excuses for why 'this or that' isn't manifested in my life when scripture says 'this or that' should be manifested in my life. After this point is exhaused, I'd like to talk about Mark 16:17 and it's connection to the gifts of the spirit. May you dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Abba Father bless and keep you. btw, just to let you know, I grew up in a Baptist church and still go to one. |

85 | Good morning Bro. John! | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46544
Good Morning Brother John I have a friend, a sister in Christ. I spoke with her this morning and she has seen a man's leg healed. It was shorter than the other and she said he was prayed for and she saw his leg grow. She has also seen demons being casted out. I also heard John Hagee's testmony about a time when he casted out a demon. With that said, Veronica (my friend) believes that Mark 16:17 is for today. So if she has seen Mark 16:17 and you and I haven't, what is the conclusion? If you believe it is not for today because you have not seen it and she believes it is for today because she has seen it, how do we reconcile that? I am so glad you mention john 14:12. I was thinking of that this morning. Jesus said 'He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also'. And I'm not even going to get into the greater works. Let's just deal with the works he did. When I read this scripture, I consider the works Jesus did. Heal, feed the hungry, teach, preach (those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head). Now Jesus said 'He that believeth on me, the works that I do SHALL he do also'. He did not say they might do the works, he said they SHALL do the works. Now, IF I believe on him and I don't do the works, then as you said 'the promise has fallen to the ground unfulfilled'. So did Jesus make a promise and not fulfill it? And again, if he said the works that he did, those that believed on him would do, then to me that means if he healed, then we heal, if he preached, then we preach, if he taught, then we teach. And again, if these things are not manifested, can it be possible that the problem lies with us? because I am not convinced that these things past away with the early church. If we can find in scripture when it was stated that these things would pass with the early church, then I would have scripture to renew my mind. I really feel uncomfortable basing my faith on what I see or don't see. I need to base it on what the word of GOD teaches. Maybe we can discuss the greater works later. Abba Father bless you! |

86 | Phillip | Is 57:1 | mbooker | 46565
He was talking to Phillip. And if in context, I am to conclude he was talking to the apostles, and thus only the apostles would do the works Jesus did, does that mean that verses 1-27 only apply to the apostles?
87 | A Loving GOD Who Hates | Mal 1:3 | mbooker | 59942
Good Morning All! I have read this verse before and I did not understand how God, who is love, could hate. Last week, a sister came to me and asked if I had ever read the verse and I told her 'yes'. We looked up this verse in other versions and all used the word 'hate' except the NLT, which uses 'rejected'. We both want to understand how our loving God could hate. Does anyone have any insight into this verse? Thanks in advance to those who may response. Abba Father bless... |

88 | Can I choose where to tithe? | Mal 3:10 | mbooker | 60262
Once a friend asked if they should take the tithe and help someone who needed money for something. My advice to them was 'no' because Mal 3 says to bring the tithe to the storehouse. Currently, I equate my local church with the storehouse in Mal 3. I haven't yet found in scripture where the tithe was given to someone who was in greater need instead of bringing it to the storehouse (church). I think I also suggested that they help out as best they could but give the tithe to their church. Abba Father Bless... |

89 | Where to give tithes? | Mal 3:10 | mbooker | 60272
Oh ok... I see First I would ask if you are sure your current church is where God has lead you to be. I would wonder, especially since you said you don't see God's work being supported by the tithes. If, however, you are sure that your current church is where you are to be, then my advice would be to give it to that church. Otherwise, seek God's guidance as to where you are to be... then give your tithes there. Abba Father Bless... |

90 | question about confrontation | Matthew | mbooker | 66813
Yes Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. Matthew 18:15-17 |

92 | What is iniquity in Matthew 7:23? | Matt 7:23 | mbooker | 74070
'Paul was usually thrown out of the synagogue when he preached Christ! :-)' Interesting point brother Tim!! :) ps I pray that your daughter is doing better. I have a similar situation only reversed: the child (me) is praying for the addicted parent. But all praise to our Father, for He has done great things and it's marvelous in our eyes!! 93 | What is iniquity in Matthew 7:23? | Matt 7:23 | mbooker | 74094
Hi Brother John As I had been reading thru this thread, Matt 22:37-40 came to mind: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Gal 5:14 and Matt 22:37-40 seem to compliment each other quite nicely :) Grace and peace to you Brother Meredith |

94 | Which teaching | Matt 14:29 | mbooker | 65733
What specific teaching needs correcting using this passage of scripture? I ask the question because I do not want to make assumptions as to what teaching you are referring to :)
95 | Jesus' faith teaching vs Word of Faith? | Matt 14:29 | mbooker | 65734
Pastor Glen I incorrectly asked my question under ava4's post. 'Which teaching' was a question for you. sorry about that :) |

96 | Which teaching | Matt 14:29 | mbooker | 65857
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? I confess that I was tickled at your warning: 'Enter this thread at your own risk' and I chose not to resist the urge pull out the above from my arsenal :). Thanks for answering my question. It appears to me that the reasons Peter began to sank were because 1. he became afraid 2. he was of little faith and 3. he doubted Do you see anything else or something different? Meredith |

97 | Which teaching | Matt 14:29 | mbooker | 66028
Good Morning Pastor Glenn When you pointed out the fact that Peter took his eyes off Jesus I thought of this passage of scripture: My son, attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from you a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from you. Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove your foot from evil. Prov 4:20-27 A heart of unbelief is referred to as evil in Heb 3:12. What I get out of this is: As long as I attend to God's Word and incline my ear to his sayings, faith will come (faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Rom 10:17). I also see that while 'in the boat', it may be easier to trust and stay focused on the Word (Jesus), but once I step in the mist of the ‘boisterous wind’, I REALLY need to be steadfast in attending to, inclining my ear to and looking right on at the Word (Jesus), so that I won’t be ‘O thou of little faith’ but will be more like the woman of Canaan who had great faith: And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. Matt 15: 22-28 Meredith |

98 | Which teaching | Matt 14:29 | mbooker | 66158
Good Morning Pastor Glenn Just this morning I was thinking about the Canaanite woman and the fact that she did not have a covenant relationship with God as the Jews had. She was indeed an 'outsider'. Naaman is definitely a good example of an outsider receiving from Jehovah Rapha. I believed that he believed the report of the little maid from Isreal: And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy. 2 Kings 5:3 I believe that Naaman and the Canaanite woman, outsiders, were able to receive what they desired because they believed/had faith. The following shows some ‘insiders’ who did not receive from the Lord because of their unbelief: And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matt 13:54-58 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. Luke 6:1-6 I agree that it’s sad when an outsider seems to trust our Father more than we do. My prayer is that we, the children of the Most High God: 1. will be as bold as lions Prov 28:1 2. will come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4:16 3. will not be guilty of having an evil heart of unbelief Heb 3:12 4. will mix the word with faith so that it may profit us Heb 4:2 5. and finally, may we believe so that we can enter into the rest of God Heb 4:3 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you Meredith |

Good Morning Brother Tim I have prayed for your daughter, granddaughter, and even the boyfriend. I have prayed for you that you would count it all joy during this trial, that you know that the trying of your faith works patience, that you let patience have her perfect work so that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. May you and your family be strong in the power of His might. Meredith |
