21 | Is there no place for romance in Heaven? | 2 Cor 5:8 | lovly2me1 | 83996
Hummmmm, this is VERY interesting. Thank you so much for taking the time with this most exquisit answer. My predicament has caused me to become most interested in the Heavenly life. I plan to do much studying on the subject. Am greatly wondering why God made us so different and Heavenly things so different from what we know. How can he expect us to understand or rejoice at things so foreign to us. Why involve us in such earthly relationships, especially marriage, of which so much is made of, causing more sin than anything and then have it to all shatter and cease to be, in place of something so foreign as All being married to Christ. Also, the Christian life, seems to be marred by "living to die". Why would we want such a thing, finding it necessary to enter into a life so foreign, that it defies logic. Certainly nothing to be happy about, just sitting around praising God all day long for an eternity. Wondering why he did not shed more light on the subject. Am thinking, there must be more in the scriptures that we have overlooked, such as the above article on the Bride and the marriage supper. I truely found this piece superb, which makes me want to delve a little deeper into its meaning. Am quite stuck at having been given "the greatest gift of all" being love, and having it so cruely taken away. Cannot seem to find the love in that. After all is said and done, Im sure that what I will find, is another situation in which "self has to die". Another hurdle that I will have to jump over or mountain I will have to climb. For truely it is a form of death and an obsticle that I must conquer. |

Corinthians 2:9-10 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" -- but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. 1 Cor 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 1 Cor 2:15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 1 Cor 2:10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. Matt 7:8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. |

23 | Who will inhabit the earth? | 2 Cor 5:8 | lovly2me1 | 84113
Such wonderful answers, you all have given, but what about the earth? Is it possible that only the martyrs will reign in heaven? Who will live on earth? Below are just a few scriptures that lead me to this question: Mat 5:10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:5 Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den |

24 | Who will inhabit the earth? | 2 Cor 5:8 | lovly2me1 | 84133
Dont know where your Galatians 1:10 fit in, but the rest is superb. So my next question is, why does everyone want to know about heaven, when they're not going there anyway? Nobody talks about living on the earth except the Jehovas Witnesses. Think we need to get this right, or would that be pleasing men, to get something right?

Jeff, I really feel for you. I agree with everything you said here and I am sorry if people have made you to feel that you are heretic for telling the truth. I know that Christians will do that. They dont like for anything to challange their beliefs, even if what they believe is ridiculous. Religious people have always been like that. Remember when they didnt like the things Jesus was saying and then they killed him? I do have to wonder about one thing though, if flesh and blood do not belong in heaven, why are there STREETS of gold, pearly GATES etc. Who will WALK on the streets of gold or OPEN the pearly gates. Starting to believe that all of what we believe is just plain crazy. Maybe we are crazy! |
