1701 | explain seven spirits of God | Rev 5:6 | lionheart | 199323
whippie, Take a look at Ephesians 4:4-6. This will help when trying to understand passages like Rev 5:6. This particular passage can be confusing if not taken in light of already established scriptures. I'm not into numerology but there are certain numbers that do carry some significance, seven being one of them. Seven is used when refering to Godly or spiritual perfection or completeness. There are translations where Rev 9:5 is rendered sevenfold spirit of God. This isn't my strongest area of knowledge but I hope it helps. In Him, lionheart |

brenda L, Greetings sister. Maybe this will add some clarity for what you are saying here, there is historical presedence for an actual mark. Back when the Romans started practicing emperor worship there was a requirement for individuals to to take a mark on thier right hand or forhead as a sign of alliegence.Hope this brings more understanding for you. 1714 | Define wine, please? | Rev 17:2 | lionheart | 204317
Tamara, Dear heart slow down. There are times when a point is reached where it's not profitable or productive. I've been there myself. Jeff was giving you sound council it wasn't a personal judgement directed at you. There are times that things like this become counter productive and it's best to let things go and move on. Read Colossians 3 it will help. In Him, lionheart |

1716 | Define wine, please? | Rev 17:2 | lionheart | 204417
Dearest Hat Lady, There's nothing to forgive sis. Rebuttal is fine it's on of the many ways we learn it's part of how we learn from each other. Where things are discouraged is when something starts getting pounded into the ground or it get's devisive,I'm not saying that's the case here, but it happens. Proper exegesis isn't speculative neither is it frivolous. It's what we do with it at time that can get it that way. But it doesn't have to be that way if people apply generous amounts of 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 and 2 Peter 1:20,21. My main purpose in directing you to Colossians 3 was to help you understand that so many times it gets to be a heart issue and you did well in observing that. The main thing I wanted you to see with this is where Paul is telling us that in our walk with God and each other is (LOVE) love is the glue, it's what holds it all together. That's the ticket dear. Take it away and it falls apart. Tamara you can do this I can see it I know it. One step at a time dear you'll get there. P.S. Drop me an e-mail you will find my e-mail in my user profile. Keep the faith sis. In Him, lionheart |

1717 | What Jesus meant Matt 10:23.16:28 26:64 | Rev 17:10 | lionheart | 204402
Val, Good day dear sister. Ya know everyone well not everyone, but allot of folks get tied up and bogged down with Revelation. It's not as complicated as we tend to make it. I will agree with RC on one thing. We gotta view things in light of scripture and that includes our study of God's Word. One thing where RC may have come up short was why John penned Revelation. Many don't understand that the church was enduring the brutalised of persecution. In part Revelation was written to encourage the Church during this time. Theirs no need to reconstruct history but it surely possible to follow. And the bible does a good job of laying it all out. Allot of questions can be answered if people will get out of the doctrinal squabbles and just do some good old fashion 2 Timothy 2:15 study of God's Word. And Val it's not a crime if we can't figure something out God will give us what we need. The whole focus of bible is to point people to Jesus Christ and it's our responsibility to reach out to the lost and preach the Gospel. It's quite simple God tells us to go out and make diciples.(Matthew 28:18-20) God's gonna take care of the details. P.S. It's not a sin to tell someone I don't know. In Him, lionheart |

1719 | A Message without a Difference? | Rev 18:4 | lionheart | 167558
Doc, Good day brother. 1 Timothy 4:16 Pay close attention and to your teaching;persevere in these things;for as you do this you will insure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you. I like the wording in the NIV (watch your life and doctine.) Sadly this is something we as beleivers dont do nearly as often as we should. I think if we did some of us myself included might be in for a very rude awakening. Lets hope that those of us who need to open there eyes do so while they are still able. In Christ, lionheart. |
