Searcher, Good day brother. This seems to be a passage of scripture that constantly gets turned around. We wanna take the good and weed out the bad. Too bad because it's oft times that God brings the greatest good out of those things. We have so many living examples with us today as well as in the past. God can and will work every situation for His and our good be it good or bad. In Him, lionheart |

John, Good day my brother. That's where I was at for many years, but what made me particularly dangerous was that I was trying to make all my corrupt and bias thinking biblically based. What a shame and unfortunatly that kind of thinking is still out there. In Him, lionheart |

4 runner, grafted in gave you a pretty solid answer. Look at verse 29, The good that God works in our life is to make us more like Jesus. In terms of the the people you mentioned along with many others who came before our Lord the good God worked in there lives didn't always come in good time but God took those times and worked it all for the good. It was all part of God's plan of redemption. in Him, lionheart |

Val, Good day to you sis. But it's to our detriment to ignore any part of scripture. Romans 15:4 is quite apropos here and I think it essential that we keep this in mind. In Him, lionheart |

FTK, Feelings are no guarantee for truth. We can be railroaded by our feelings when our focus isn't on God and His Word. Does all truth from God always produce those kind of feelings and only those feelings. This applies to all, believer and unbeliever alike. Could you support your conclusion with scripture. In Him, lionheart |

330 | If God is so powerful and so good, why d | Gen 3:7 | lionheart | 215776
hopalong, I don't know how many times I've asked myself the same question and it comes back to the simple truth that God gives us freedom to choose and as usual we being who we are will muck it up. But fortunately for us God is sovereign and always in control. Thats why we need healthy doses of Romans 12:1,2 daily. In Him, lionheart |

336 | Jesus spoke with authority!!! | NT general | lionheart | 215423
humility, Good day brother, Jesus spoke as one having authority because he had it, all of it. The problem with the scribes and pharisee's is that they taught out of the hardness and hypocressy of there own hearts and not from the love and authority fo God's Word given them and of course they would not recieve Jesus as Messiah. In Him, lionheart |

337 | Hebrews 2:3-4 | Matt 12:39 | lionheart | 215421
humility, I might beg to differ with your friend. Our Lord dealt with the same heart and attitudes of people in His day and we do so today also. People always want proof when they already have it. Hebrews 12:1- Sence we are surounded by such a great cloud of wittnesses... We have all the evidence we need. We have it our fingertips, we have it living within us Col 1:27 and how about what God is and has worked and is working in our lives as well as the lives of others. So ya see, God does no less today than he has in years past. In Him, lionheart |

Vintage68, One question though. And I'm not looking to argue here, was all Rabbinic Law scriptural? Jesus was constantly calling the Pharisee's and teachers on there emphesis on the law and traditions. Now lets come back to today. Now it's quite obvious throughout scripture that we are to present ourselves to God in a holy manner. I won't argue that. I wouldn't want to put anything into or on my body that would not glorify God. I've thought about getting tatoos in the past, anything that I would have done would have been centered around what God has done in my life. One of the reasons I havent is because of health issues and to be frankly honest I still have questions myself. Thats why I will refer people to Romans 14 on a number of issues. It helps clear things up and will get us pointed in the right direction. In Him, lionheart |
