2382 | how do you explain to someone that does | 2 Cor 4:6 | justme | 224285
ddhome: Beja and Lionheart have given excellent responses. I would add just a little more, if I may. Be a witness for Christ so those who do not believe may see Christ in you and ask why you are different. Share what Christ has done in your life, and pray for those you have a burden for. Perhaps most important is don't assume to do the Holy Spirits work. The Holy Spirit convicts, and tugs at the soul of man. If someone rejects the pulling of the Holy Spirit and rejects the Holy Spirit pleading to surrender to Jesus Christ, then that becomes the unforgiveble sin when they die. Sharring Christ is our responsibility, the conviction of sin and pleading is the work of the Holy Spirit. The rest is up to the person. I hope this helps. justme |

2385 | Define 'spiritual death' | 2 Cor 5:21 | justme | 83112
gracefull: The misnomer that Jesus went to hell is taught is some groups that usually do not believe in the trinity. Scripture says Jesus bore our sins, and by His blood shed on the cross we are saved. Dis not Jesu say to the repentant thief today you will be withe ME IN PARADISE? Not hell. Many early church fathers believed Jesus was refering to Psalm 22, whenJesus was repeating "My God......" Can God who is present every where and is all seeing turn his back on anyone? God may Judge us, punish us, but Christ was God! Can God turn against Himself? To come close to a Hank Hanegraagg words. the lie that Jesus went to hell is a lie from hell itself. I pretty much agree. Just some thoughts... Justme |

2386 | Define 'spiritual death' | 2 Cor 5:21 | justme | 83120
Graceful: With due respect, your theology is a real eclictic. No, most mainline Demonations do not believe Jesus went to hell! The bosom of Abraham was not the hell fire and eternal seperation that the unsaved go. In no way do accept that Jesus was seperated from the Father at anytime! Jesus was proclaiming He had fullfilled Psalm 22. Jesus was perfect. and did not sin. He bore our sins on the cross, by His Blood we are saved. I don't believe anyone on earth understands the Trinity well enough to explain it so clearly they can say this is the triune God. At best we fumble around using examples that fit within the scope of our earthly minds understanding. Duet. 29:29. I only know that all three are one, with destinct personalities. What ever that means. But when Jesus was on the cross the Three in one were all there. Jesus said He was in the Father and the Father was in Him. The Holy Spirit presense was there in the supernatural taring of the vail in the Holy of Holies, and the earth quake and the opening of the graves. I have no human wisdom to explain the Trinity. Do you honestly believe God would allow a created being (satan) to torture Jesus who by Him was everything created by, and without Him was nothing made. Col.1 I am not tring to make you upset but this is a very serious point of that the Godhead is over all, and would not allow satan to torture Jesus Christ. Peace. justne |

2387 | Define 'spiritual death' | 2 Cor 5:21 | justme | 83163
gracefull: I do understand your question. Jesus did physicaly die, as the death we die now. That is not "Spiritual death". Romans talks a lot on the second death which is "spiritual death" this second death is for those who have rejected Jesus Christ. Jesus did not suffer "spiritual death". There are those in the Word of Faith movement that teach this doctrine. I don't believe the Word of Faith movement is a demonation in the same way as Lutherians, Southern Baptist and the like are. I do believe it is growing at a rapid pace. Which from my perspective is a serious concern. We have been over that, and I do not want to bring resentment to the surface. All I can say is The Bible by it's self stands, and anything that does not fall in line with Scripture I reject. I wish for peace. justme |

2388 | Divorce based on lack of support? | 2 Cor 6:14 | justme | 69733
SgtMac: Greeting and Merry Christmass. Your note reads like you are close to the husband in this situation. What you have seen or heard is just the tip of the ice burg! This couple has far more problems than this job situation, let me assure you of that. I would say they are equally yoked in one area, and that's they both have hardness hearts. When a man makes a job change and takes the time to work with his wife and to pray together seeking the Lords will, and they both are in step with God and each other good comes from being united as they should be. Only then transitions are possible. God has not given her the assurance this is His direction for them. Women have a very keen intutive sence of problems ahead. This I think is part the of God need for their need for proterction and security. This man is foolish to be so insensitive. He is willing to destroy his family to follow what he thinks God is leading him into. God never works like that. God proberly is YELLING to him to rethink this. This is one area many of us husbands just demand our wives to pack up our families and move because we feel it is God's will. The damage it does lasts forever in our children and our wives. Being a true husband and one that is an example of Eph.6 would make sure everyone is on board before making a move. So he gets the job and looses his family. Tell me what good comes from that? If a divorce results that is most assuredly NOT God's will! I am positive by Biblical Christian standards there is no grounds for divorce. Except as Moses permitted, for hardness of hearts. You can be assured there are much deeper wounds in this mans wife heart than just the job or the move. Be a true friend tell him he is making a very serious error, perhaps you will save broken people from braking up. I kwow of what I speak. I moved my family more than 22 times! My wife and children suffered and endured so much. I am fortunate and highly blessed to have my wife and family! My adult children have openly told me how so many moves cause them so many painful hurts and problems. Not many wives would have stayed with a demanding, stupid, insensitive man that I once was. My wife is an unusually strong Christian, she trusted in the Lord not me. We had some very serious problems that took us to the very brink of divorce. Thank the Lord He disciplined me with the most loving, excruciating painfull eperience I have ever endured. My Lord Jesus resucued me and helped me become the husband and dad I needed to become. To this day I am still being taught to be a better husband and dad, and grandpa. justme |

2391 | I need help on how to tithe. | 2 Cor 9:7 | justme | 183227
Kalos: Your post brings to mind a thought I have never really come to a solid conclusion on, your or anyone elses opinion is welcome. For a person who is married and has say two children and is making just a dollar or two above minimum wage. For that person ten percent represents a lot more than sau a person making fourty thousand a year. I have believed more in sacrificial giving. Often I have heard of some who had to make a choice of not making a payment of giving. Some have even gone and given a "seed faith" (WOF) and still fell farther behind, and blamed GOD for not blessing them. I personally have a huge problem with those who give to get back. That is in my understanding of Scripture is not Biblical. I Pastoredthree churches that were in relatively poor comunities. Sometimes people coming to the church for assistance in utilities or food from the Deacon Board, made more money and had much more that me and my family, there was a total of six in our family. There were times that the Mission support funds were increased every year, but my salary was not increased in three years. I made know how difficult making our minimum budget. The blessing of the way Lord was to see how He used other people outside the church to help without being asked. These people were amazing in the fact they were used and blessed because they were sensitive to the Lords leading. I am sure that there are many Pastors that feel that the priority of caring for the Pastors needs are less important than the Missions fund or some other fund. Me and my wife, when budget time comes for the church, always make a suggestion that the pastor gets a raise. Because of what we experienced, we are more aware that the pastors needs must be a priority. I believe there is nothing more hurtful as to not show financial appreciation to the Pastor. We also experienced one church that went way overboard to make sure our needs were ment. There were only about 25 members, and were the most caring, loving people we have ever ministered with. if a believer gives any credit to the movie or book "Heaven is for real" is this not giving satan an opeen door to discredit the Bible? I see this movie being pushed in some places I once considered as soild in Christ. Doeess this mean they have losst theeir beliefe in the Bible as being totally complete and without error?

Doc: The father of the boy that this happened to was a pastor at the time, of some sort. I think this too speaks a lot about the fathers lack of belief and trust in the Bible. Thanks yor your reply. justme |

2394 | Should women be allowed to preach? | Galatians | justme | 50081
Dear sufficient grace: please read Galations 3:28 and 5:6. Also use the Quick Search in the upper right of your screen than type in women church, or women pastors. This has been a regular topic for a long time. Perhaps from Adams time. I can use scripture to support both sides of this issue. Let me say women have been in ministry for over 200 years in this country. There have been women pastors, and there are many serving Christ today. For me it is a matter of culture, and bias, and how we understand scripture. I personally perfer to attend a church with a man as pastor. I would not feel unconfortable otherwise. However I can accept a woman as assistant pastor, youth pastor and women as Deacons. I was raised a Baptist, and they typically have a trustee, and deacon board. The church was run like a denocracy, where the members voted on everything! Now We attend a church that has an Pastor, Elder system. When they totally agree on an issue they bring it to the people and the people believe that these leaders have Gods leading, and we follow. This has been the very best I have ever seen a church work. Our church is growing, and so am I! So you see there are many ways to serve the Lord. You must serve with faith expressing itself in love, or it is not of the Lord. Should anyone doubt God uses women just read the gospels again and see how often women were there serving and caring. The Disciples cound not even stay awake to pray with Jesus. Who came to the tomb? I point out that God may be refered to as Father, but God is neither male or female. Us men would best be served to see that women are the more sensitive, and tender hearted. We can complement one another in the body of Christ if we do not lord it over and make a fellow child of the King feel less than we are. Remember scripture says to consider others more than our selver. Amen! End of sermon. agape, justme |

2395 | Should women be allowed to preach? | Galatians | justme | 50114
Dear srbaegon: What does you name stand for? The name is an interesting word. But back to your answer. When does culture and scripture conflict? Why not have women cover their head? Why allow women to speak in church today? Why not stome adulter's? My point was the verse in Timothy was directly related to the culture at that ime. Give it some thought. Galations 3:28 might have some impact on your thinking. I just wanted to add a tid bit to stir up some gray matter. agape, justme. |

2396 | Should women be allowed to preach? | Galatians | justme | 50116
Dear BradK: Should we bring back the thousand of women missionaries who have preached all over the world? Ther are teams of women serving all over the world wher men can't be found in large enough numbers to send. In America for more than 200 years there have been women preaching and pastoring. I prefere a man pastor my self. However, have you ever heard Dr. Billy Graham's daughter speak? Do you think that the culture of biblical times was inspired as the word is? I think our culture has educated women, which was most certianly not the case back at Pauls writting. If the church today depended upon men keeping it going it would fall appart. Many churches are supported by as much as 75 percent women. Re-read Gal.3:28. Do you not read there is neither male of female in heaven? Is not our Father God neither male or female, sexually, but complete in and of the Faters self? I just wanted you to see it in a new light. agape, justme |

Daer Srbaegon: I appreciate your explanations. Y respect your views, you come accross as a gentle soul. I respect that you practice what you say is your views. What you say and do are not in conflict. That I admire. I also practice what I believe. So we ar both children of The King and with that we shall have fellowship. Neither of our views are unorthodox. I am very close friends with Amish, and Menonite wher we live. We do not agre on many things but Jesus is our Lord and with that we focus on what we do agree. I am sure we can also. agape justme |

2398 | The Primacy of Gods' word | Galatians | justme | 50173
Dear BradK: I must admit I do have a serious problem with women being alone in the mission field. I think if there is no man christian enough then maybe the mission should be halted from the first. It is high time men who feel that praeching and pastoring is for men only, to close the churches down! Perhaps, some of these wimpy pansey christian men will see people are going to hell because of there view women are second class christians! Culture has much to do with how we understand scripture! Lets turn arround and ask should we return to the culture ways of Paul? Please consider God does refer to him as a hen wwho would gather her chicks, and other references that show that God is tender atributes of a female as well. Why was Adam incomplete? What made him complete? a woman, female EVE, not Steve. God is neither male or female! As God moved on men to pen His perfect without error word He used words that we could understand. I doubt he was ever saying man is so much better, or woman is much less. We are co-workers with different abilities and responsibilities, different but both are equal in Gods sight. That's what Gal.3:28 is about. I gladly seek understanding of Scriptual truth, to up lift all children of God. Hope this helps also. agape, justme |

2399 | Should women be allowed to preach? | Galatians | justme | 50181
Dear Scribe: Brave soul, I am so proud that you can put into words much better than I have been able to. I am deeply wounded by the mean things I have gotten by meeeen and women who differ from my views. The love of Christ for women, and the fact that we are co-workers is totally ignored by some. Women are not second class humans or christians. I am a man and I am supprised that we agree. Thank you you have lifted my heart. Today was a real slammer for me. so bless you. agape, justme |

2400 | Should women be allowed to preach? | Galatians | justme | 50183
Dear William: I prefer a man pastor, not because women are not Biblically permited. I have a hard time because so many men will not support a woman pastor. I think you have the family, and culture and abortion, deadbeat dads and adultery, kinds thrown together in one pot. Where does the call of God enter the picture? How about a husband and wife as co-pastors? That protects men from counseling women ond visa versa. We live in very difficult times and perhaps things will soon get much worse. I believe each of us should spend more time praying for each other than being so critical. How anout you? aaagape, justme |
