2203 | HELP ME PLEASE...I am not content! | Rom 12:1 | justme | 102553
Cajam: You can take me in truth, respect, kindly, and in Christian love. There is no reason for you to show the disrespect to Tim, and then compair you conte,pt to the actions of Paul. I am always interseted in dialogue, but not when it turns ugly and unkind. I wonder is all you are concerned about is "if I have broken the forum rules." Should we not be more concerned about braking fellowship with a believer in Christ? Yes I do feel you are under Christian obligation to applogize to Tim and me as well. Please take me as someone whom Christ lives in and respect Him that resides in me and His Holy Spiiirit which has sealed me until that day, if for no other reason than these alone. I never go off on anyone, I will be stern when a brother is slammed or degraded by another brother in Christ, To me this is unacceptable and is very serious. Cajam we all are responsible for the Blood of Christ. If we were not none of us would need saving from our sime. Peace. justme |

2204 | HELP ME PLEASE...I am not content! | Rom 12:1 | justme | 102683
Cajam: My wife reads what I write, usually later in the evening. Mrs. Justme shows me my many misspelled words, and typo errors, and offers suggestions. She also is a good person to see into spiritual issues that I don't pick up on. I prayed this morning for wisdom in responding to you. I read all the notes from yesterday, that went back and forth after I signed off. I paid special attention to Hanks response to you too. Today is a new day. My opinion is that after 10 months and 116 posts you need to put something about yourself in the Update User Info. We know nothing about you whatsoever. Perhaps this might make me feel you were more a part in wanting to participate with openess, as most of the regulars on the Forum have, please. I am not the Holy Spirit to convict you of sin. I can say if you ask Jesus to show your sin, the Holy Spirit will reveal sin, if there is any to reveal. Scripture says Pride goes before the fall. Could pride be an area to explore, perhaps? I can tell you have a problem with authority. Lockman has made rules they expect to be followed. Several times Hank made some noteworthy remarks that you seem to have ignored. Hank is the who Lockman has asked to oversee this Forum. I will respect Hank. I will respect his authority, or I will have the personal integrity to leave. My observation is you got a lot of attention yesterday. Cajam, you spent a lot of time on the Forum yesterday, what positive points of Jesus' did you share? What encouragement did you give to someone who was looking for something positive in this dialogue. How did the the love of Jesus who lives in you, shine forth? Cajam, what do you hope to accomplish in this Bible Study Forum? Ask yourself, what am I doing here? My hope for you, is to become a brother who contributes in a way that shows you are a compassionate, kind, respectful, Christian. I hope the same for me and all who are involved with this Forum as well. Now as for asking me to state your sin. You do not make a clear understandable statement, or request. The end of your note says you don't need convienced of anything. Then you say that if you can't judge your self then why should I let you judge me. This is not even clear thinking, and how would you suggest I respond to a double minded persons request, that does not make sence? This is a prime example of what several people have brought to your attention. This kind of communication is not worthy of spending all day on the coumputer, or the public viewing in the Bible Study Forum. When all you accomplish is getting folkes dander stirred up, and making yourself become so frustrated that you don't make logical questions, you need to ask yourself what am I doing this for. Perhaps you need some personal contact with people, whom you can have contact with. Perhaps you are seeking attention or reassurance that you beliefs are within acceptable Christianity. Cajam, I don't wish you anything but God's will for your life. I think you have some strong potential. I know you need to take some time and assimilate all that went on yesterday, and spend some time asking God to show you a better way to communicate and minister to others. I sincerly hope this helps heal some wounds, and we all will learn and grow from this long restricted, dialogue. I have spent time with you that I hope this does some good to help you grow. Peace to you Cajam. justme |

2207 | weep with others is more important? | Rom 12:15 | justme | 216222
Brad:-) I can only speak for me on this subject. I seem to have my share of serious health problems, several life threatening. I will ask my pastor to remember me in prayer, but I restrict the knowledge to him alone. Why? Becaues I would have my name on the prayer list a lot of the time, and I think people would think I complain too much. I find it very hard to ask for empathy or for my sickness to be widely know. So this is my side of the coin. I will gladly share any good news. I am thinking of adding Job to my name too. Blessings. justme...Job |

2208 | Is killing murder in wartime? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 50120
Dear tommymac51: War is evil. War changes people, in ways that are painfull. Often the pain and memories of war last a life time. We as a nation are often called to rescue others from certian destruction or prevent evil from taking over where good exists. When war involves us, we have to make choices, that may save lives by taking someones life. Sometimes we lay our life down to save someone elses. There is no easy answer. War is hell, and that's the truth. I am a 100 percent disabled Veteran and I know that living with physical damage to ones body is not as painfull as the emotional scars that only with Christs love can heal, and we can be free of the past. God bless you, agape, justme |

2209 | Christian view of war? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 77308
Assuming that Christians support the USA in going to war, what Biblical grounds do we have to follow our country in this war? I am looking at perhaps more than several verses.
2210 | Abiding with Lockmans rules? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 107860
If someone is not willing to abide by Lockmans rules, is it not right to ask that someone to leave? I mean posting questions that are infact making a statement to get around rules.
2211 | Disobey Elders? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 224240
gphilipp00: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. You have asled a wide question. A quick answer is it all depends. But to narrow my response, what are you thinking the elders are in error about? Matthew 18:15-19 Jesus tells us how to confront someone you think is in error. Be wise that Scripture tells us to be careful in correcting a elder. Go with humility and love. Blessings justme |

2212 | Lawful marriage certificate | Rom 13:1 | justme | 227759
yellowrose61: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. I can state with assurance having been a pastor in Kansas, and marring several couples, that there is no such "legal' marriage without a Kansas Marriage license. I have been told there is no such thing as a Common Law marriage any where in the United States any longer. There is no wiggle-room left for this couple. They can say as many vows to each other as they want, but it amounts to a hill of beans sa far as any legal marriage goes. Sorry to tell you this. justme |

2213 | As Christians should we openly support? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 243771
Every four years the election of a President brings all kinds of view points. I have yet to see one where good meaning Christians done stand on opposite ends saying Jesus is on this side and not yours. The 2016 year election is even more so than other years. Liberty Universities president Dr. fawell has come out and stated who he supports for President. There have been a larger number of well known Christian Leaders who have also come out to cast their support for the same person as dr. Fallwell. This has me bewildered, as the person they are backing seems to be questionable in regards to their faith in Christ being genuine. With recent revelations about the person these Christian leaders are supporting in him having some serious character flaws that bring the genuineness of his faith, this seems to his supporters did not really know the person they stood behind. Now comes the sticky wicket. When we as Christians give political support, aren't we saying as Christians we feel this person has the things we think a Christian should have? For me I personally would rather say I stand for the Party which supports a pro life position, rather than casting my open support for a person who may come out with serious questionable character and moral flaws. When we as a Christian leaders place our open support for anything that could cause shame to the name of Christ, I believe it behooves at least me, to be very careful in what, who or anything I openly support saying as a Christian I approve anything. I am keenly aware of the many serious issues this Presidential has tied to it. I get how the next persons going to the Supreme Court are dependent on who gets elected as the President. I also see how Christians supporting both persons running have attacked each other, all using the word "Christian" as if God were on their side. Once again even though these are just working class people with not much influence they too are using Christ as proof of what seems to me as Christ is backing the person I support. Here is my question; as a citizen and Christ follower just how much written and vocal support should we give? When is it acceptable to lend our faith in Christ to support a person running for any public office? Also if you are running for office is it wise to openly say you are a Christian when running for office. Should leaders in places of leadership, like a University come out and use your position to support a person running for election? As a side note, I believe God will give the United States the person he feels will accomplish His will. Justme |

2214 | As Christians should we openly support? | Rom 13:1 | justme | 243773
We both are in total agreement. I consider this election a separation od the goats from the sheep , as it really gets down to digging deeper into what party, not the person stands closer to Biblical principals. I can reach out and help those who are caught in satans trap of LGBT or other immoral lifestyles, but as for accepting that as a law of the United States, NEVER. This is a turning point election, and Followers of Jesus have only Gods Judgment for voting otherwise. God blees you brother. justme |

2215 | Government? Ministers for Christ? | Rom 13:4 | justme | 215702
humility: Doc answered you so very well. However, might I add something more to think about? Under evil governments like Germany under Hitler many Christians as well as Jews were put to death. Seldom do we hear about the death of Christians. As a Christian how could they feel Hitler was ordained into power? We are told we are to obey God first and if a government is going against God, we are to obey God. Here is where situation ethics come into play. Does the situation govern our reactions or does our Christian ethics? The answer seems clear enough, but in reality we sometimes become like Peter and go with the path of least resistance. In fact we as Christians are now facing a government that is supportive of abortion, same sex marraige, and consider homosexuality as protected under the hate crimes act. In Canada preaching against same sexual activities of any kind is illegal. Perhaps forums like this may someday become outlawed in our own country. This may well be the begining of the tribulation for Christians. We are under a bias against Christianity that there is no doubt about it. Even nationally known television preachers are watering down their message and gaining in the opinion our present elected officals. We as a nation have left our basic roots. This might fit in with what you asked. justme |

2216 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | justme | 89401
GeorJoy: I have read your question and the notes you have responded to, and the notes of others to you. I find your thought patterns and the way in which you express these thoughts in writing interesting. I read your profile and you are a person determined to mature and stand firm in your faith. That is noteworthy and is to be applauded. I asked myself several questions as I read this thread joined by a number of responders. We all have different ways to relateing to people, so no one way is the only correct way. I wonder if you could explain to me who is the "they" that you refer to several times? Are you refering to a paticluar church you have experience with, or just Christians in general? May I feflect on some things I observed in this thread? (I hope you said yes.) Many of us are anxious for others who claim the name of Christ, to take up their cross, and show those who are watching where their faith really is. I have at times been judgemential of those who were maturing in their at a, what seemed to me. a very slow pace. Infact some believers seem ti be moving backward in the maturing of their faith. This has caused me frustation, and I have felt sad for these believers. For me it has been easy to set up in my mind a "us", "them" in the way those who slowly mature in Christ. In reality this is building a straw man, that I precieve as carnal Christians something less spiritual, lazy and even stupid. These lazy stupid Christians just dont measure up to my standard of how fast a Christian should grow. I wonder why can't "they" get with the program as I have? There are all kinds of reason for stunted spiritual growth. However I think the problem for carnal or slow maturing Christians is much deeper than it appears on the surface. I believe that a large percentage of the fault lays at our very feet. How many of us rush to witness and get someone to make Jesus Lord, give thenm apamplet or Scripture, invite them to church and do not take the required time to nurture these babies in Christ? Training and maturing is essiential if these new believers are to grow in the very slightest. We can not judge these non maturing believers when we have not done the basics of follow up. I ask why are so suprised that Word of Faith movement is growing because these believers are ignorant and open to this flawed and dangerious teaching sucks up so many Christians? Sometime ago in the Daily Bread I read the following, "The renewal of the inner person, becoming Christlike, is not accomplished in a moment but a lifetime." author unknown. I hope my sharing this with you and others might cause each of us to see that at one time we too were considered by others to perhaps think we were lazy and stupid. I would be interested in your thoughts. Blessings. justme |

2217 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | justme | 89428
GeorJoy: Greetings and thank you for the response. As I read the notes the thread has had 11 notes. You sparked a nice dialogue and that's good in my book. George I believe that I understand your question and it's presumptions. What i was responding to was the insuation that a large number of Christions are stupid and lazy in the way they handle and understand the Bible. To that I am not so quick to label Christians in to the catagory of lazy or stupid. My concern is when someone comes to Christ, unless the person introducing Christ, takes the required effort to start them on a soild foundation, we do a diservice and set the newybeliever up for becoming a lazt stupid Christian. To me it is abundantly clear we who think are so much mature have a high notch on the belt record. But when it comes to discipling we do a miserable job! Then because of Our failure to assure growth by taking the required time to disciple these new believers, we are as much or more responsible for the laziness and stupidness you have discribed. I in no way am saying this with unkindness or anything negative toward you. I said this with a heavy heart and lived enough years to see the other side of the stupid lazy people, and how they got to be such. I hope this helps clear up what I was responding to you about. In other words I said all this to say, don't be so quick to make a call that someone is stupid or lazy. Your tone of voice in your quuestion comes accross as being ridged and stern and seeing only black or white. Some times we, ourselves play a significant part in why Christians do not mature as you have. Any thoughts? Blessings. justme |

2218 | With knowledge comes pain and responsibt | Rom 14:12 | justme | 89430
GeorJoy :-) Hi again, this is justme. I would add that anyone with Biblical knowledge is not always a spiritual person either. Just because someone has NOT attended seminary does not mean they are Biblically ignorant. Nore is it correct to make statements that a seminary education is something to be considered as harmful or not worth while. With all higher education the student must look at what school they are intterested in, and if it is Biblically sound. This stands for welding school to any course of study. May I suggest that many dedicated solid doctrinaly sound Christians have paved the way so we can grow in the Lord and His Word. Look at the Bible you read from, were it not for seminary educated scholars you proberly would not have the Bible of today. I suggest that intelligence is NOT free. Rather intelligence cost someone in either hands on experience or in a learning as a student. Yes, you can earn a degree, but learning is NEVER free. Wisdom is better than Gold or any costly thing. I would ask you to question if ignorance is better than education? Is it easier to cut a tree down with a sharp axe or a dull axe? Seminary is the honing of becoming a skilled minister so they can minister to those who have intelligence and are not persauded by telling them the Bible says so. With CPE in the clinical setting many ministers have learned how to be there for the grieving, the terminal ill and their families. The world is full of ignorant, (perhaps lazy and stupid) Christians attacking and chewing one another up. May I suggest that unless the teacher has more learning and genuine spiritual life, then that of the learner, little taught or learned. That is one important reason seminary education is a good investment by those who are called to go. I agree that not all seminaries are worth going to. However the ones that worth while, are a treasure, worthy of investing your money and your time into. That's one way to have sheperds that know how to feed the flock pure bread and to share how to fish. Without brains (the ability to read) books are usless, no matter what the cost. I try not to lump all people, places, or seminaries into one box. Any thouhhts? Blessings. justme |

2219 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | justme | 89432
GerJoy: Yes. I am saying your observations are slanted in a narrow presperctive, and that you night consider widening your scope of understanding. In widening your view, I believe you might see better why people are lazy and stupid Christians. Blessings. justme |

2220 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | justme | 89525
GeorJoy: Let me start by saying I sincerely aplogize for any word that came across as an accusation or insinuation. May I clear up that in no way was hurt, however this was read into or fro, my responses was not what I ever intended. Nor was I arguing with you, or what ever I said to allow a serious misunderstanding as what has takenplace. Again I offer my sincere aplpgies, this was never in my thoughts or intentions. Realizing that there was a serious misunderstanding of my intend messages, I can see how some how I did not recieve the thoughts you were intending for me to understand; then I can see how easy it would for you to make the intended message one thing and me to fail to get your point as well. I hope this makes sense. I encourage you to go over my notes I have submitted over the all most 1000 responses so far. You will see I have a good number of times said that respect and kindness are the key to good dialogue. I can assure you I am never to proud to heal a wound that someone has made me aware of. I have made a number of apologies in the past, and I am sure that I will again. For my view is it makes no dofference if I see or feel that I am wronged or have wronged aoneone else, the importand issue is the be gracious and understanding. I hope this has taken place. Thank you for the concern for my health and the struggle I am in with this serious illness. I have been medically disabled and I am now not in paid ministry, that's notto say not ministering, just not receiving a salary, I do not believe a Christain is ever realeased from the ministry God has give us all. I hope this is a door opening, and not a door shut as far as dialogue is concerned. Blessings to you George. justme |
