2161 | Does Christ come into our hearts? | Rom 10:9 | justme | 210344
Steve: English or whatever language we use to communicate with, is often not fully understood by the person or persons we areattempting to make understand our thoughts. It amazes me how the Holy Spirit is able to reach out to each of us and we are able to completely understand what is being said to us. Only Jesus has made His will so easy to understand that even a child can come to a saving relationship with Him. Blessings Steve. justme |

mitchhunt: Welcome to theStudy Bible Forum! This took great courage to ask this question, thank you for allowing some imput into such a serious question. I am going to assume this question is directly from you, and this is a question from you about yourself. If it is not about you, than you can use it to help someone else. This question has been asked or at leased thought about by most all of us at sometime or other in our lives. There is no need to feel embarrassed or ashamed for anyone to feel like ending your life. There is but a small window of time that has been found, until this desire will past. Please, if you are still considering ending your life, you can call 911 and ask for help right now. If you have a pastor, or a loved one call them and share your feelings. Cody mac has given you good Bible verses to look at. Here are a few more Psalm 55:22 tells is to cast our cares on the Lord, as He cares very much about you! Psalm 139 the complete chapter tells how wonderfully God has made us and how He has plans for our life. Romans 8:26-36 are verses that prove that God has promised that nothing we do can remove Gods Love from us. Perhaps you may never have asked Jesus Christ to save you from your sins? To end your life without Jesus Christ would mean a more painful condition than what you could possibly be in now. Here is what is called the Romans Road that right from any Bible you can be Saved. Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9, 10:13. after reading these verses, and asking God to forgive your sins, and asking God to become Lord of your life, you need to find a church to share this with. I am a Souther Baptist, and I know there you will find a Bible believing church. There are others, but I am mainly knowledgable of Southern Baptist Churches and their beliefs. I will be praying for you Mitch, please let us know how you are doing or the person you are trying to help. justme |

Steve: May I kindly, and with the deepest of respect suggest this was not a good answer. ALWAYS assune a person asking a question like this is asking for themself. You might well be the last contact they will make before they take their life. Most people who are serious about ending their life have a window of time when they will do it. If we reach then is that window with understanding, hope, encouragement, and assurance of Scripture there is a good chance we can help them in a time like this. If a pastor, or Social worker, police, or hotline heras this than we are required by law to get help as fast and best we can. Any advice we offer as persons on this Forum can not put Lockman in any danger, or you for that matter. To just pass a person like this on would be good only after offering the above and Scripture. If we can not offer someone some hope in Jesus Christ and under such circumstances than we need to rethink what our responsibility is as a believe in Christ. We of all people have the most to offer, Jesus! I hope you can see a different side of this perhaps a cry or screem for help this might well have been. Alwasy treat this as if this person is right up to the point of going into eternity at any second. Blessing, and I offer my deepest regards. justme |

Steve: I understand your point. I don't want to labor the point, and coure a problem. But, Hebrews 4:12 is a Scriptyre that I understand to be a point that above anything I say, the Scriptures are able to touch the deepest pit that anyone could ever find themselves in. Perhaps you might consider having a Scripture in mind should such a situation present it's self again. Thanks for at least regarding my point. justme |

Azure: The point is telling someone they need not be embarrassed or ashamed is because these two feelings are very often the things told when talking with some who are under the influence and ready to make such a wrong choice. So I do feel you not understanding my word choices might be a cluteral thing. As I stated to Steve the very least we can do is offer Scripture. Hebrews 4:12 is very clear that the Word of God can reach the heart on anyone who is in the deepest pit. My point is as this is a Bible Study Forum, and if we are even at a basic level of being a Christian could we at least not offer some word of encouragement from Scripture? I would suggest iw a person can not do at least that, perhaps it might be better to save the question for someone who has that gift of encouragement. Not all of us has all the gifts, and it would allow the body to function better. I say this in a strong concern that unless a person has some training and experience in helping with people ready to end their life, it might cause more harm than good. I had the very sad experience of being a pastor on a city that had a group of high school students that had made a pact to kill themselves. There were a number of teenagers who ended their lives before it came to an end. A great effor to teach the School teachers and Clergy and those who had contact with those teenagers was extensive. Prayer goes with out saying. Let's ask the Lord for words to say or wisdom to do the right thing. Blessings. justme |

mommapbs):-( I am unworthy of your comtemptuous remark. I am even less convienced to believe you in calling me "friend". I find your "blessings" to be an oxymoron. I genuinely feel the resentment you have, which I find to be unexplainable. When you answer, a serious question I have, please either give me the same quality of respect you have for others or ignore the question. I do not like being publicaly humiliated. I am disappointed by your sarcasm, I really thought you to be above this. Never, would I consider myself worthy to untie the sandels of an Apostle of Jesus Christ! I am quite offended at your remarks. Think before you answer in the future. This kind of pettiness is not why I use the Forum, nor is it acceptable from my view point. justme |

mommapbs:This is an open arena for anyone to see what has been said. I suggest that a careful rereading of a note to think how the one receieving the note might understand the message in a different way than intended might help. Most certianly to with hold forgiveness would be against all I believe in. That was automatic, as far as I was concerned. I do not carry on feelings of unforgiveness, it's not my way. Forgiveness it saying I will not continue react in an unkindness and I choose to pass it on by. My life is to short for that. I accept that we see some theological issues very differently. Apostles is one for sure. I honestly was asking because some in the forun think there are Apostles today to please name just one. I have yet to have anyone in over a year name one, even though some think they exist today. That was my only point. Recently I was harsley responded to, by someone I won't mention, with what I saw as not dialogue, but pure ignorance on being unkind and disrespectful. I stayed of the forum for several days to pray and think about this. I do not always respond at once. I find I do better after praying and reading scripture, and then responding. The note I sent you reflected some serious thought, if I should even respond to what I considered a rude, sarcasitc answer. I felt it was important to address it to you exactally as I thought and felt. Sometimes that is hard to do. No one is able to understand our tone when reading a note from someone else. I hope this allows this to heal and move on from this point on. justme |

2171 | Apostles | Rom 10:15 | justme | 77401
Parable: Thank you for your note. I think scripture says a signs of a true Apostle are Signs, wonders and miracles and have seen the Lord Jesus Christ. So I have doubts that that there are any Apostles today. But I am open to learn of one if someone would take the time to explain how it is today we have an Apostle. Blessings and peace. justme |

2173 | can you be more specific? | Rom 10:15 | justme | 77484
Parable: You are correct, and I am sorry it took me so long to respond. I don't see the miracles or signs of the "faith movement" as genuine,. Nor would I call the leaders and evangelists of the "faith movement" a "true" Apostle. That was the point behind my thought. I was reluctant to just state it bluntly, but as this has inspired several questions I felt I needed to be clear on why I wanted an example of just ONE person that would even be a chigger bite on a true Apostle's, of Christ's, big toe. I understand that an Apostle had to actually have seen Christ. At least that is my understanding of Scripture. Peace. justme |

2174 | Apostles | Rom 10:15 | justme | 77490
gracefull: With genuine respect and kindness, may I give you my understanding. According to 2 Corinthians 12:11-13. I understand an Apostle to have the ability to preforme signs, wonders, and miracles, that would all three works mentioned. Paul indacates that the position of Apostle was one that was "among" them. Paul further states he was not "inferior" to to the" "eminent Apostles". The wording here and other places does not appear to be a position that was passed on to anyone who has not seen the Lord Jesus. That is the position common to many. In wanting to be understanding of your position, would you be willing to share how you believe there could be Apostles today? I am NOT tring to box you in. So if you prefer not to answer that too is ok. Peace. justme |
