602 | is one baptism enough as children? | Acts 2:38 | jlpangilinan | 68619
Child dont understand yet how to repent, they cannot understand yet the doctrine that will give to them Ac 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. At least in our church, the members must be old enough to understand the doctrine of the church, ready to accept the teaching of the church before they can be baptize. Child is not yet ready for the doctrine, they cant understand deeply hoe to repent. There are churches that baptize a 1 month old babies, but I dont think it is biblical. They have maybe has authority over the bible. God bless, Johnny |

You are very right in your statement, but you dnt have to wait others to asked you to put supported verses in any claim that you post, it has to be a practice and descipline. You qutoted some verses, again it is true. If our participation here is to make us hate our brother and sisters, what is the purpose of the "word" anyway. Of course thousand of disagreement done here but its good to find out afterwall we still brothers and sisters. God bless, Johnny |

You cannot blame the members of the forum if they after to the chapter and verses of the bible if you want to answers question, we have to be reminded that this site is a study bible forum. I was been here since July of 2001, until now the answers that I accepted are those supported by scriptures. I will not waste my time for the opinions that not well supported by the word of God, I did not registered here for the pure opinions or conclusions of other, I participated here to learn and to answers If I can from the word of God and not to gather opinions. It usual even in any debate that I heared person on both sides give reference in where did they quoted thier claim, in that case both side has chance to under cross examnition the other side for thier statement and claim. So if we try to answers or to depend some points, please always support your claim with the scriptures, so that anyone can follow your claim and check if is really biblical or not. I think there is no something wrong with that. God bless, Johnny |

605 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67917
makarios I gave the example of Paul before he called by Christ. As we all know how he persecute Christians. But after he was called and received the teaching of Christ he never again commit the things that he had before. I gave this example to argued others that stated that even you are a "born again, meaning received Christ") you can still do want you have done before as a non-believer. In addition, I gave myself as an example "if before I am a hired killer, then receive Christ and Christ live in me but then i can still do the same what I did before "as a hired killer" what christ is that who live in me?. 606 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67898
I did not said that i cannot sin, What my point really is if you are a "hired killer' before then called for salvation, then Christ live in you how could you do the same thing? a Christian at the same time hired killer? You still can sin but not what you was before. If I am being called in salvation then receive the authority of being son of God I know I can still be sin but not as what I was before! 2Th 2:13 ¶ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: and no one can take me out of His hands: Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. God bless, Johnny |

Agreed, I did not say we cannot sin, but not as grave as before when not yet "born again" like what i said if I am a hired killer before then called to salvation been "born again" then Christ live in me and not mine I dont think I can be same person again. I still can sin but not a hired killer again. Johnny |

609 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67892
You know if you read the thread the questions asked if the born again can still do what he have done before. I give myself an example "if I am a killer" can I still do the same what I've done before it is very clear. You suggest judas sscariot who choose judas iscariot as a betrayal of Christ, do you suggest judas once save and lost it. i dont your scritures on that, now cite me any apostle that after been "born again" still do what they done before. As I said paul is a perfect example, he forsake Christ, and persecute the apostles, but after been "born again" did he commit the same sin? I know people still can sin, but not as grave as he was before, if you are "born again" and Christ live with you I dont think if you once a killer you can still do the same if Christ live in you! 610 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67811
You write "I think once your "born again" you're always "born again" regardless of if you stumble...However, only those who are sincere of heart in their commitment to God...and only God knows the heart...are those that struggle to be as sinless as possible due to their love and faith in Jesus Christ...there is only one sin that cannot be forgiven and that is to deny or "blasphemy" God once you make the commitment to become "reborn". ..to deny Him...that is merely my own understanding, but you should search the Scriptures for yourself." I am sorry but I will disagree with you. Once you born again you you always born again. This is not a big reason that God will tolerate such actions. For example if I am a killer then called for salvation (born again) received Christ and Christ lives in me how could I commit the same things I've done bofore. paul specifies that once you received Christ, Christ lives in you and not yours: Ga 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Now if Christ live in me and still I can commit killings rape etc, what kind of chirst is that live in me a tolerable kind of christ? Could you please cite me any apostle that once a killer then born again and commit the same acts after being born again, please I will very thankful if can provide. God bless, Johnny |

611 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67810
Dear Hank, My posting is clear (I hope) I am talking about the true born again a true believer. My argument is this, if the one being born again is before is a killer in intentions then called for a salvation (born again) He cannot do what he had done before i.e killing. I gave the example of paul, Christ live in him he not live his own but Christ live in him. I am sure if Christ lives in you how could you kill someone as Christ said love your nieghbor as thyself? Paul before called by christ, was a different man he forsaken the apostle of christ and even Persecution against stephen and the followers of Christ he took a prominent part But after Christ called him, did he commit the same acts? If the person that has Christ in Him and Christ live in Him can kill can rape, what kind of christ is that living in that person. God bless, Johnny |

613 | The word of God? | Heb 4:12 | jlpangilinan | 67805
Searcher123 Welcome to the forum! Word of God (Heb 4:12, etc.). The Bible so called because the writers of its several books were God's organs in communicating his will to men. It is his "word," because he speaks to us in its sacred pages. Whatever the inspired writers here declare to be true and binding upon us, God declares to be true and binding. This word is infallible, because written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and therefore free from all error of fact or doctrine or precept. (See Inspiration; Bible.) All saving knowledge is obtained from the word of God. In the case of adults it is an indispensable means of salvation, and is efficacious thereunto by the gracious influence of the Holy Spirit (Joh 17:17; 2Ti 3:15-16; 1Pe 1:23). 615 | Can a born again sin as they did before? | 1 John 1:8 | jlpangilinan | 67777
No! If you received Christ as your personal savior and being born again, you cannot do any sin that you usually do, That is why you called born again, because youre been born again. Paul said in this passages, if Christ within you you live Christ and not yours. Ga 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. If Christ live in you, how could you do a sin like we did before. For example if I am a rapist, become a born again, then Christ live with me, if Christ live with me how could I raped again. If will do that again meaning Christ is not live in me, and I am not really beeing been born again. God bless, Johnny |
